Making his third outing on ProgRAM, MD is proving himself an integral part of the label’s output. After the ‘Vandal’ and ‘Crinimal’ EPs, the Data 3 member drops his latest EP, ‘Manga’.

Four tracks deep, the minimal criminal delves again into darker, techier waters. From the low-end step of the title track, the gnarled bass of ‘Terminal’ to the melodic, atmospheric soul of ‘Oh Boy,’ MD showcases styles that are uniquely his own. Also included is ‘Arrival VIP’, giving one of 2018’s standout releases an update.

MD is back with the ProgRAM…

Legion & Logam, a trio who've cemented themselves as an international crossover act whilst pedestalling US drum & bass within the Ram roster. After the breakaway success of their first single on the Program imprint, 'House of Cards', as well as a host of fresh cuts of the Ram Records compilation series, they're returning with a single to cement themselves yet again within the genre's fabric. Having become a staple of festival stages globally, it's no surprise they've piqued such interest across the scene.

'To Be Alone' features Micah Freeman on vocals, making another appearance since 'Holding On' and adding his signature twist between carefully constructed layers of noise. Freeman's voice stretches to its furthest heights, dropping down musical crescendos and over kicking drum patterns. Snapping percussion washes over each train of sound with distorted guitar underpinning each segment. Piano notes filter through the mix, creating an emotional composition that pedestals the style Legion & Logam reign over.

'Switch Up' juxtaposes its predecessor, nastily slick whilst oozing with throbbing bass and clicking percussion. Weighty yet tightly knit, it exposes the darker underbelly of their production. Stabbing their way through, each beat arrangement bites whilst you're taken amongst a conundrum of quaking subs and shaking basslines. Once again proving that Legion & Logam are a versatile outfit, this one is a call to war for the rave's murkier corners.

Once again, it's time to get with the Program… One that celebrates diversity whilst distributing acts like Legion & Logam onto an unsuspecting audience since its inception.

Ram Trilogy - 'Human Future' (Benny L Remix)

RAM Trilogy 'Revolutions' - https://RAM.lnk.to/revolutionsID

The ‘Revolutions’ LP from Ram pulls together some of the most iconic tracks which the imprint dropped during its beginning stages, spearheaded by Ram Trilogy (Andy C, Shimon and Ant Miles). After celebrating the twentieth anniversary of ‘Molten Beats’, an album which shaped drum & bass at its roots and continued to do so after its release, they’ve now offered the trio’s back catalogue to several producers currently making their own impact in the modern-day.

Featuring reworks from Andy C, Shimon and Ant Miles, each founding member ignites a fresh spark with their offerings. Meanwhile, Insideinfo, Levela, Benny L and Traumatize all flex their production muscles through their take on a set of historic records. With 'Revolutions' already in club circulation, it’s an album Ram fans have been waiting for. And when it drops, it’ll refresh the community as to why Ram has continued its longevity whilst still leading the way within the dance music scene.

Culture Shock - Tangents

From the 'Transit EP'
Out 18/12/2015

Merging a huge spectrum of creative talents, this next EP from Culture Shock dissects not only his music but also his persona as an artist. Encompassing both his self-made, mechanical artwork as well as the diverse soundscape he reigns over, it's easy to see the depth of his creativity.

The four track EP demonstrates his classical training, one which served as the perfect backdrop for his intricate composition, driving from a range of influences… Something he'd soon become renowned for. From the legendary status of 'City Lights', which this year received the 'Record of The Day' status at Radio1, to the resounding riddims of heavy-hitters 'Troglodyte' and 'Ohrwurm', his output has not only been eclectic but steadily gaining momentum too.

Opening track 'Back to You' has lined the sets of dancefloor's heaviest hitters this summer. Whether it's on sold-out stages of the drum & bass capital at SW4, or sets across the Atlantic with support from Andy C and Sub Focus, the anticipation around its release has been invading cyberspace. Pounding subs underpin a soulfully reimagined vocal sample, which peaks between the ebb and flow of structured note arpeggios. A warped bassline beneath elevated note patterns add an extra stockiness allowing the record to detonate any club, whilst still leading you into the emotive crescendo of dancefloors worldwide.

Rolling out next is 'Tangents'. Ethereal, humanistic elements weave between snapping hi-hits and loops of synth, gradually building to manifest something more menacing. With a melody that only goes to pedestal an outstanding ingenuity, you pound against steely distortion, one which reverberates between each segment.

'Rush Connection' yet again stands as a testament to Culture Shock's honed craft, whilst being distinctive stylistically. A chiselled groove acts as a starting point, snipped up by slants of sample and served as a dynamic riddim to take you into any late night session. Then lastly, comes 'Steam Machine', peddled by kick drums and an incredibly chiselled bassline… Pulling together an EP whose announcement is set to ricochet across the industry. It's an explosive finish.

Adding the fourth track to an already expansive discography, this extension of Culture Shock's repertoire will only further push him into the spotlight. And with yet more sonic crafts already in the works, his true potential is only just being uncovered.

RAM25 - The Album - Out Now
https://www.ramrecords.com/download/ramm300d

Standing as one of the most resounding electronic music labels in history, Ram Records has finally hit its 25-year milestone. Established by Andy C and Ant Miles in 1992, the label has boldly placed itself on the forefront since its inception, acting as a foundation for the drum & bass genre and seeing through its development from the very beginning.

Once heralded as a platform for Andy C’s own productions, the imprint expanded massively, becoming a world-renowned hub for some of the biggest drum & bass artists to ever hit the scene. The label has gone from strength to strength, helping to pedestal house-hold names such as Chase & Status, Sub Focus and Wilkinson. From the charts to the radio airwaves, they’ve continued their crossover success.Receiving daytime airplay and top ten positions unceasingly over the last decade, the producers have enabled Ram’s influence to seep into every corner of dance music.

Alongside support from BMG and current label manager Jim Gash, 2017 has seen Ram Records ascend to new heights. And to celebrate their twenty fifth year, Ram will be rereleasing twenty five original remastered classics from their definitive back catalogue as well as seventeen remixes, including reworks from Chase & Status, Killbox, DC Breaks, Frankee, Total Science, Benny L, Kasra and Enei, Ant Miles and Shimon, Bladerunner, DJ Marky Calyx & Teebee, Sound in Noise and Metrik. All in, it’s Ram’s most ambitious project to date.

The 25th year of Ram’s history is looking to be its most memorable yet. Both musically and through their major city UK tour dates, Ram’s versatile roster is still being pushed to new borders. Quarter of a century on and the record label is as strong as ever.

Teddy Killerz are in no way shy; presenting a full-frontal, immersive production standard the outfit are not afraid to turn their backs on the scene's more commercial sounds. You'll find them tearing down any dimly lit club across the globe – from the US to Russia and then back to the genre's roots in the UK, Teddy Killerz have pedestalled a sound unlike anyone else. But what can you expect from three artists who were instantly taken into the OWSLA fort, after illuminating themselves against hordes of remix competitors for Skrillex's renowned imprint.

This inevitably led to their monumental signing to one of dance music's most resounding and withstanding labels, Ram Records. And after their most recent single 'Teddynator' exploded onto the Beatport Top 100 and accomplishing the sought after number one spot, they've followed this up in quick succession. The 'Hyperspeed EP' epitomises everything which Teddy Killerz are about. Aggressive yet concise, smashing you head first through every carefully constructed break, this trio prove their versatility whilst reaffirming their position as one of the genre's most intimidating weights.

Instantly recognisable from any set over the past few months, title-track 'Hyperspeed' froths with foreboding before dropping into all-out anarchy. With a rabid forking of synth and the snap, smack and pound of drums, this is drum & bass at its most raw and undiluted. Sitting on top of clashing percussion and reversing momentarily at unpredictable intervals, there's no escaping this record's all-enveloping force.

'Quasar' on the other hand begins on a false-premise. Brought forward on eerie atmospherics, it's swiftly cut open and dissected by a quick strum of electric guitar before you're propelled at a dizzying speed. Sub bass is used as an alarm, ringing throughout the record and warning the listener of Teddy Killerz unapologetic countenance.

Of a different hue is 'Space Junk', with a jazzy intro that rolls on top of an LFO-lead bassline and jungle reminiscent breaks. Demonstrating the trio's undeniable craftsmanship, it definitely adds another dimension to the EP's track listing. Then lastly, 'Hawking Radiation' presents you with a steppy riddim that hulks with every few bars. The tempo is then amped up to 170; the perfect way to close an EP that'll leave you contemplating its enormity.

Killbox return with their next single following the guttural, bass heavy sounds of ‘Neverware’. ‘Cousin of Zilch’ follows a similar disposition, more understated in its approach whilst still snapping between electrifying waves of sonic and a subterranean bassline which pushes the layering to breaking point. When the record drops, you’re thrown down by its sub-heavy, seismic rumbles and it’s the type which creates total devastation inside clubs. The producers once more prove they’re able to switch up their style, moving towards a more imposing composition which focuses on its colossal weight.

The duo has yet to disappoint this year and their reign over the darker realms remains as strong as ever. Nine months since their big reveal, after being shrouded in mystery, they’ve already become a resounding part of the twenty-five-year strong Ram Records roster. Adding track after track of undiluted filth into the mix, history is in the making for this pair. And with a succession of live shows planned across the UK and beyond, including seminal sets at Ram’s 25 year major city tour, expect more audibly menacing appearances from Killbox this winter.

Over the past year, Gerra & Stone have become one of the most exciting duos to take the genre's forefront. Featuring across Ram and Program's discography, they're creating their own space, one held firmly by tight production standards and a refreshing musicality, seldom seen in newly emerging talent.

The single appeals to a diverse group of music listeners. Whether across the subs of London's haunts, or the headphones of any technical music listener, these next two sonic cuts pedestal not only their understanding of a diverse sound design, but also their ability to conquer it.

'Dnt U' is a riddim which cuts and swerves between cascading breaks and instantly recognisable drum patterns. The junglist influences are given a stockiness by an LFO bassline and distortion, falling between amen and quaking sub. It shows a clear persona etched out by the two producers, one which has made them instantly recognisable from the outset.

The next up, 'Chicago' also brings an old school vibe whilst utilising more contemporary techniques. Flipping beat patterns draw you in, whilst metallic percussion drives you forward at an incredible speed. Switching up, it then drags you down a corridor of fluctuating bass notes and snapping hi-hats.

Adding a second instalment to an already impressive entree, this next output from the outfit prove their path is about to take another ascent. And with exciting new talent to come from the imprint… Once again, it's time to get with the Program!

Zeal - 'Release'

Zeal
Yesterday Lanes EP
Out Now - https://RAM.lnk.to/ZealYLFA
Program

Program newbie Zeal has already made with his recent release ‘Check It’, created in collaboration with Jake Robertz and dropped earlier this summer through underground stalwart Program. The Canadian-based DJ and producer is now treating fellow D’n’B heads to yet another taste of his talent: having listened to ‘Yesterday Lanes’, it’s clear to see how Program made no mistake in bringing him through and adding him as an honorary member to their impressive roster.

The opening track of the EP, which features slick vocalist Killups, eases you gently into the selection with its sublime instrumentals. Zeal’s technical prowess becomes immediately clear: combining the characteristically high-energy elements of drum and bass with melody to create something so evocative requires a very skilled hand… Serenity descends into a mixture of crisp, clean beats and atmospheric vocals before subtle, slightly more sinister sounds appear within the tune’s rolling core.

These touches are carried through into ‘Release’, which builds on the pace and moves us away from his smoother soundscape, and into the shadier parts of the deeper bass realms. The dreamlike opening is punctuated by soft, electronic notes, which are sustained as haunting, sometimes distorted vocals and sweeping sonics enter the mix. A break in the percussion echoes the tone of the previous track, until it rises again and returns us to a complete and full-bodied soundscape.

‘Opal’, featuring CIGZ, takes things up a notch. From tense, mysterious beginnings, the mood constantly shifts as this third and final track morphs into something light and hopeful. It has that same level of piercing intricacy that seems to be so characteristic of Zeal’s work… ‘Yesterday Lanes’ is certainly not one to be missed, so once again – it’s time to get with the Program.

Bringing a close to their four track ‘Transformation’ EP, Mind Vortex have made a welcome comeback for 2017. Since the beginning, they’ve etched a path for themselves which has woven itself around countless radio plays by tastemakers and Djing slots across the worldwide club circuit. It’s their expertly engineered cuts which have made them so notorious for imposing dancefloor annihilation, with a diverse back catalogue standing as a testament to this.

Alongside ‘Shall We Begin’, your first introduction to the ‘Transformation EP’, next single ‘The Day After’ and slamming rework ‘Future Fold VIP’, ‘Transformation’ ties together a four-track offering which has been anticipated since it was revealed. Time and time again, Mind Vortex have ensured they stay at the pinnacle of their game, with title-track ‘Transformation’ once more raising the bar. Finding a place within the revered home of Ram Records, Mind Vortex present another formidable output.

Coming at you with flickering, sonic beats and a bassline which begins to methodically switch into gear, ‘Transformation’ proves its dancefloor appeal and the incredible manufacturing of their track intros. Punching forward on surging drum patterns and terrifying flicks of twisting LFO, each seismic crash of bass pushes you further into the mix. Mind Vortex create yet another set opener, a promising start to festival season for any drum & bass lover - the track ebbs and flows between an epic crescendo, before gearing up for another climatic breakdown. Mind Vortex demonstrate why they’ve become an integral part of the Ram Records’ roster, pushing harder and harder with every release.

The soundscape available to Mind Vortex is a versatile one. However, the ‘Transformation’ EP ties in four undeniably cutting tracks which pedestal their filthier underbelly. It’s this signature which has made them a staple on line ups across the globe. And they’ll continue to reign supreme on the dancefloors for years to come, with new music still waiting on the horizon.

Quintessential stadium anthems are Delta Heavy's forte and 'Reborn' demonstrates how they've gained this reputation. Setting show stopping-agendas since their first release on the RAM imprint, this next one is no different, however, a cinematic roller isn't all this release has to offer. With remixes from Spoils and June Miller, there's a colour reel of sound spinning throughout; a host of tracks to suit every palette.
'Reborn' embodies exactly what Delta Heavy represents as a collaborative project. An arpeggio of notes leads delicately into emotionally charged vocals, pedestalling the record and creating a musically picturesque backdrop. With the undertow of a pounding morphine bassline and the relentless instrumentation of jungle infused drums, there's no mistaking the artists' nod towards their harder productions. Epic, timeless and puffed out with a grandeur composition, Delta Heavy have yet to disappoint.
On the remixes, June Miller carefully crafts their take against the original, uncompromising yet delicately woven and not without its predecessors' emotional crescendo. And lastly, Spoils introduces us to a genre-infused uptake that catches you unaware, with a steppy melody which stays true to its roots yet delves deep into Spoil's production aptitude.
So once again, it's time to take up Delta Heavy's offerings. They've delivered the perfect successor to their 'Apollo EP', yet again reasserting their title as one of the bass scene's heavyweights.
