The debut artist album of eleven.five, the Virginia native who we affectionately know as Eric Fox, has truly been a lifetime in the making. We, at Silk Music, have had the privilege of co-piloting the last five years of eleven.five's musical journey, as his memorable lead themes and innovative grooves have found their way into the hands of Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, and various other esteemed international purveyors of house, progressive, and trance. From the deep, noir-tinged "Echo" to the euphoric, celestially inspired "Explanation," eleven.five's classics seem to have drawn from myriad influences and subgenres of electronic music.

His triumphant "When People Become Numbers" artist album continues to showcase his immense musical creativity and versatility. Thumping, yet emotive club-friendly cuts are punctuated by more pensive, deep-flavored compositions, including several cinematic and timeless chillout pieces. Dan Sieg & Sam Wilkinson, better known as Dan & Sam, dazzled international progressive fans and DJ's alike with their debut effort on our imprint, "Breaking The Illusion". Not only did it receive great international DJ support, but the single also went on to reach #2 on the Beatport Trance releases chart, as well as earn a spot on Max Graham's acclaimed "Cycles 4" compilation [Armada]. Their sophomore effort, "Walls", is another ornate and melodic progressive gem. This time around, they have recruited promising vocal talent Maxx Hennard, whose rich baritone adds a warmth and "sophisticated" sentimentality to the track. The one and only remix in the package comes courtesy of American sensation Shawn Mitiska, whose decorated veteran career includes numerous solo hits, most recently "Salt" [Enhanced]. Supported on countless occasions by Armin Van Buuren, amongst other top international DJ's, Shawn Mitiska has been a truly humbling addition to our label roster this past year, with standout remixes on Schodt's "Heatwave" and Shingo Nakamura's "Whither". His work here, a vocal rendering of "Walls", affirms that he truly possesses a remarkable talent for crafting intelligent and uplifting peak-hour tunes.

The Original Mix by Dan & Sam kicks off with a lush chord progression, a central motif of the track, and is soon joined by early echoes of Maxx Hennard's stunning vocal. After a quick mini-break, the bassline pulls back slightly, setting the stage brilliantly for Hennard's soulful and evocative verse. The memorable lyrics culminate in the chorus with the line: "The only walls we've got, are the walls we built ourselves". It's a breath-taking moment, augmented by the gorgeous delayed vox and lead synth lines that fill out the soundscape. In the drop, the central groove teasingly returns with just the kick, followed soon thereafter by the arrival of the full rhythm and (chorus hook) in full, anthemic force.

On remix detail, veteran talent Shawn Mitiska is always reliable, especially when it comes to transforming more chilled progressive cuts into club killers. Yet, one of Mitiska's greatest talents as a remixer is that he is never compromises the musicality and emotional depth of a song in the process. Rather, he builds off the rich soundscape created by Dan & Sam by adding delicious new pads and synth layers, including a lovely piano line to the main riff. Meanwhile, the groove is infused with some serious "hop" and swing, and the vocal is meticulously processed, with subtle reverb and delay, as well as various other FX scattered throughout the full-bodied texture. In the main break, we are once again met by the euphoric choral vox, backed by inspirational lead chords and pads.

The Original Mix quickly establishes a firm beat with an intriguing bassline underneath. The break showcases the piano in full effect combined with the powerful pads, and later, the hypnotizing theme lead is introduced, which leads the track to its zenith.

Mrmilkcarton (US) returns to Arrival with his interpretation of "Some Things Never Change". A floating atmosphere is introduced, including truly mesmerizing bassline stabs and sweeping pad layers on top. In the break, we are introduced to the extremely powerful theme lead, as well as an additional smooth piano lead. The sound of this lead is varied later, proving a great addition to the various theme riffs.

Japanese artist AKI Amano provides us with the second remix -- it starts out with smooth percussion elements and enjoyable background synth riffs. A delayed piano riff emerges in the break, combined with supporting soothing string lines. The track continues with its lively groove, which is spiced up with lush, intermittent vocal stems.

Australian composer Approaching Black (a.k.a. Shannon Riches) has been a musical contributor to our label since 2009, thereby making him one of the longest-tenured artists in our ranks. His unforgettable songs -- known for their distinctively sensual and lush textures, in addition to their melodic, atmospheric, and transportive qualities -- remain cherished touchstones that have greatly helped us refine our label's emotive sound through the years, in various electronic subgenres.

We are thereby especially pleased to present Approaching Black's debut artist album, "Dusk," which is split into two parts and comprises twenty-five total songs. The first part of "Dusk" treats listeners to predominately deep and progressive house compositions, for which the Melbourne-based producer is perhaps most known. Amongst his passionate fans are fellow label veterans Shingo Nakamura, Sound Quelle, and Brandon Mignacca, all of whom have collaborated with Approaching Black on at least one album track. The chemistry between Approaching Black and all three of these phenomenal veteran talents is simply extraordinary, with Mignacca's lyrical and vocal contributions to "One Minute Longer" and "Revive" proving to be especially profound and beautiful. More than a half dozen other instrumental tracks on the first part of the album, including the mellifluous "Closer" and "Higher," equally showcase Shannon's gifts as a sonic storyteller and deft craftsman of deeper grooves.
