Consisting of Danish-born (LA-based) producer Tim McEwan and NYC-based singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle, The Midnight have emerged in recent years as a veritable leader of the synthwave resurgence. More specifically, the duo have received generous support from legions of synthwave enthusiasts, as well as more casual synth-pop fans, ever since their aesthetic-defining debut EP, "Days of Thunder" (2014). Their subsequent LP offering, "Endless Summer" (2016), cemented the duo's reputation as one of the finest new synthwave acts, a sentiment that musical legends (Chicane), renowned artist peers (FM-84), and prominent genre hubs (NewRetroWave) have graciously reinforced of late. The Midnight Remixed, one of our most ambitious releases to date, features brand new remixes by a distinguished group of Silk Music veterans, whose melodic and atmospheric sound has significantly helped to define our brand. We've also recruited a few famed nonresident label contributors, including Lifelike and Michael Cassette, whose specific compositional gifts and musical legacies seemed especially apropos to this 80s-influenced endeavor.

The unforgettably lush, melodic, and cinematic music of Marsh has graced our label since 2012. The UK-based composer has managed to attract fans from both ends of the electronic music spectrum, from deep house to trance, ever since, in large part due to the influential support of Above & Beyond, Chicane, and various other global leaders. A half-decade of artistic growth has led the London native to a defining moment in his career: the release of "Life On The Shore," his debut artist album.

Straddling deep and (melodic) progressive house, Marsh's twelve breathtaking album cuts invoke an air of romance, if not eroticism, as gentle grooves, distant atmospheric effects, and soothing, yet indelible melodic themes envelop the listener. Ellie Shantz, Katherine Amy, and Marcelle Antunes, all newcomers to our imprint, treat us to a total of five standout vocal contributions to Marsh's dream-like soundscapes. Rendering the listener pensive and profoundly at peace, "Life On The Shore," in the final analysis, seems to conjure a utopian existence, in which life is both more relaxed and spiritually fulfilling.

Australian composer Approaching Black (a.k.a. Shannon Riches) has been a musical contributor to our label since 2009, thereby making him one of the longest-tenured artists in our ranks. His unforgettable songs -- known for their distinctively sensual and lush textures, in addition to their melodic, atmospheric, and transportive qualities -- remain cherished touchstones that have greatly helped us refine our label's emotive sound through the years, in various electronic subgenres.

We are thereby especially pleased to present Approaching Black's debut artist album, "Dusk," which is split into two parts and comprises twenty-five total songs. The first part of "Dusk" treats listeners to predominately deep and progressive house compositions, for which the Melbourne-based producer is perhaps most known. Amongst his passionate fans are fellow label veterans Shingo Nakamura, Sound Quelle, and Brandon Mignacca, all of whom have collaborated with Approaching Black on at least one album track. The chemistry between Approaching Black and all three of these phenomenal veteran talents is simply extraordinary, with Mignacca's lyrical and vocal contributions to "One Minute Longer" and "Revive" proving to be especially profound and beautiful. More than a half dozen other instrumental tracks on the first part of the album, including the mellifluous "Closer" and "Higher," equally showcase Shannon's gifts as a sonic storyteller and deft craftsman of deeper grooves.

Serbian phenom Vintage & Morelli has emerged as a singular talent on our roster. His extraordinary and truly unique compositional style, on which he has worked tirelessly over the last 15 years, combines elements of house, progressive, trance, and downtempo into vivid, cinematic soundscapes that never fail to move the listener. Since releasing "My Rose Enchanted Destiny," his debut artist album, over 3 years ago, his career has reached new heights, thanks to a consistent output of acclaimed singles and EPs on our label, as well as various contributions to the likes of Anjunabeats, Armada, and FSOE. On the heels of live dates in Australia and The Netherlands, Vintage & Morelli will tour the States for the first time this summer, as the main headliner of our Silk Music Showcase #500 Tour.

Needless to say, the stage is set for the arrival of "Hymn To The Night," his greatly anticipated second artist album. Representing the pinnacle of Vintage & Morelli's musical development, the album offers a full spectrum of his composition gifts, from gorgeous orchestral and breaks tracks to a significant amount of peak-hour progressive house and trance cuts. That's not all: his long-standing collaborator Arielle Maren, the extraordinary American singer-songwriter who has graced so many of Vintage & Morelli's most famous works, makes a tremendous contribution to this record, with her characteristically stirring lyrics and vocals gracing no less than five of the tracks on this album, including the singles "Breathe" and "Lonely Shore," the latter also featuring instrumental touches from renowned producer RNX. Canadian singer-songwriter Brandon Mignacca also appears twice on the album; his recent work with Sound Quelle introduced his beautiful songwriting and vocal performances to our community, and his collaborations with Vintage & Morelli on this album -- "Love Is" and "Bloom" -- profoundly and poignantly celebrate the healing power of love. There is quite literally a song for all electronic music tastes on "Hymn To The Night," and Vintage & Morelli pours his soul into each and every track, with sweeping instrumental motifs decorating the canvas of each arrangement. Since the August 2017 release of "The Midnight Remixed," one of the most thrilling and spiritually rewarding endeavors in our label's history, Tim McEwan and Tyler Lyle, better known as The Midnight, have released a #1 Billboard Dance album ("Kids") and toured much of North America, Europe, and Australia. It is safe to say that the acclaimed discography and global popularity of the Los Angeles and Atlanta-based duo have both grown dramatically, since we at Silk Music last had the privilege of developing and releasing new remixes of their indelible tunes. Indeed, The Midnight is currently in the midst of another world tour, which will take them through the United States, Europe, and ultimately, Mexico, near the end of this year.

Flash forward to today, as we joyously announce the sequel, "The Midnight Remixed 02," featuring brand new remixes of more favorites by The Midnight, from "The Years" (off their debut EP, "Days Of Thunder") to "Lost Boy" (the first single from their most recent LP, "Kids"). This time around, we have recruited a cast of (almost) entirely fresh faces on remix detail, including legendary synthwave artist Timecop1983, indie-electronic phenom Uppermost, acclaimed retro-tinged act ERKKA, and deep-and-dark-progressive maestro Nox Vahn. Russian sensation PROFF, the only artist to appear on both 'Remixed' editions, offers a visionary take on "Kids" that brims with creativity, power, and musicality alike. Rounding out the extraordinary roster of remix artists, Silk Music veterans Claes Rosen, Dan Sieg, Kobana, Blood Groove & Kikis, Jayeson Andel, and A.M.R all deliver emotive and inspired renderings, ranging in style from introspective deep house cuts to cinematic-electronic power ballads. We are truly overjoyed to finally reveal these emotive and intelligent new takes on eleven more of The Midnight's celebrated classics, all of which have never been remixed before.

The third and final single from our forthcoming "The Midnight Remixed 02" album showcases a remix from PROFF, the one and only artist featured on this release to have also appeared on the first installment of the 'Remixed' series. More specifically, PROFF's interpretation of The Midnight's "Days Of Thunder" (under his Soultorque guise) proved to be a standout from the last edition, so it seemed well-advised to give the Russian phenom an opportunity to reinterpret one of The Midnight's equally beloved, but more recent productions. The result, a "Dub" take on The Midnight's "Kids," is an exceedingly groovy and suspenseful progressive house anthem that pays homage to the late-night, noir-influenced side of The Midnight's songwriting.
