Anunnaki are a group of entities that were deified by various cultures in Mesopotamia who appear in the mythological traditions of the ancient Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, and Babylonians.

The Anunnaki are a major subject of the Ancient alien hypothesis, and have often been related to the biblical Watchers, the "sons of God" who are the progenitors of the nephilim. The name Anunna has also been translated as "Those who come from the Sky" and even "star rulers" as the first symbol in their cuneiform name is (An) originally meaning "star".

This soundtrack has been envisioned by Morttagua through a process of past visualization that was heavily inspired by the stories from the ancient times that the Anunnaki ruled on earth. The melodies, plucks, harmonies and futuristic fx of this new single were designed in a special form to try to emulate to its listeners a glimpse of memory into our timeless ancestors.

The second release on Dreaming Awake features the track 'Elegant Sadness' by Swedish/Israeli producer Diamandy. The original track is a deep driving melodic techno track that eventually leads to an absolutely beautiful emotional melodic lead hook. When label boss Treavor Moontribe first heard the beautiful melody that is the basis of the track he knew right away this was gonna be something special. This lead to him reaching out to the management for world famous Progressive House mastermind Stan Kolev about coming on board for a remix.

Being a new label it was certainly an amazingly great surprise when a very positive response came from Stans manager with an agreement to do the remix. Of course Stan delivered a remix for the ages, a blasting Progressive House track that takes the melodic hook to an entirely new level. This track is a hands in the air, crowd screaming in joy monster that sets the dance floor on fire every time!

With Stan Kolev on board, it was time to find the perfect up and coming producer to compliment the release as a big goal of Dreaming Awake is to bring forth new producers who are making waves. Dj and Producers Marbs of the world famous Desert Hearts crew from California was exactly the right man for the job! The remix Marbs delivered is a super grooving melodic techno track that gives us that deep night time sound that the Desert Hearts festivals are so well known for. The melodic hook once again shine thru here along with the tech baseline and percussive elements.

The latest release from Clubsonica Records welcomes Gux Jimenez back to the label for a new EP. Upon making his label debut in February of 2019 with a remix of Moveme's 'Traumtanz', the Colombian artist then went on to release his first artist EP for Clubsonica in March. The year yielded many other successes, with outings for Balkan Connection, Droid9, Juicebox Music, Soundteller Records and UV being the most notable. Now presenting his first project of 2020, the Cartagena resident returns to Clubsonica with 'El Inicio | El Fin' alongside remixes from Kamilo Sanclemente, Juan Pablo Torrez and Dabeat and Giovanny Aparicio.

The first interpretation of 'El Fin' is provided by Kamilo Sanclemente, Juan Pablo Torrez and Dabeat. Operating from the heart of Colombia's electronic music scene, this trio of artists have collectively showcased their music on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings, Beatfreak, Parquet Recordings and UV. Beloved as their country's foremost progressive music talents, Kamilo, Juan and Dabeat now unite for a special collaborative remix of 'El Fin'. Fluid and groovy in equal measure, its perfectly contoured foundation moves with a powerful yet buoyant drive. Fresh design qualities make for a commanding rhythm core, while pensive atmospheres add anticipatory vibes leading into the break. Processed vocals and striking tones make for a hugely impactful centrepiece, as mind bending modulation fully saturates your senses leading into a classy drop and ominous finale.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of 'El Fin' is Giovanny Aparicio. Having made his Clubsonica debut in December of 2019 with a remix of Jan Dalvik's 'Mahat', the Colombian artist also released several well received collaborations with fellow countryman Kamilo Sanclemente earlier in the year. Now making a welcome return to Clubsonica, Giovanny provides a stunning rendition of 'El Fin'. The groove gets reworked with great warmth and flow, while a complement of clattering drums, hypnotic arps and misty effects fill in the framework. Musically less pronounced, the Cali resident opts for a meditative yet powerful approach, building tension subtly across the main break though timely modulation, before smoothly segueing into a purring finale.

It caps off another impressive collection of music from Clubsonica and a welcome return to the label for one of Colombia's fastest rising stars Gux Jimenez.

Senses heighten as piercing stabs and elastic-like arps unite across a devilish first act. Percussive flurries and buzzing swells further advance the narrative, flowing effortlessly into a dramatic break. Fur Coat’s Oddity label starts 2021 with a fresh edition of the acclaimed various artists “Odd Echoes Vol.4”. This instalment showcases some artists that are already known to the label, as well as many new additions to the family.

Fur Coat’s commitment to their label over the last few years has seen the imprint amass a dedicated following and an ever growing list of respected and lauded releases. Utilising their Various Artists compilations, the duo have unearthed some extremely exciting talent in this world and given emerging artists a platform to exhibit their craft.

Diving into the package we are greeted with the melodic and emotional sounds that Oddity has their recognisable stamp. Its clear though that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and presents something unique to the VA. The first half is formed of well crafted tracks which ease us into the sound. Tracks the build and develop over time and help to kick start out musical exploration.

In true Oddity style the second half of the package leans towards darker and more driving pieces. Casting the listeners mind to the dancefloors which the tracks were meant to be played on. Its a VA formed of 21 original tracks mostly from first timers on the label, that all together solidify the identity of the series and sound of Oddity.

Other tracks may have announced their arrival, but ‘Right In The Night’ was the one that poured the concrete that internationally cemented Jam & Spoon’s rep. The intoxicating, atypical combination of bass pulse, flamenco strings and Plavka’s smouldering song turned it into a pan-European chart hit.

This month Black Hole Recordings takes J&S’s once-breakout/now best-known-for, and rolls it a remix double-six. They’ve enlisted the redoubtable skills of Johan Gielen and Morttagua, who’ve sent it along some markedly different strasses & autobahns, recasting ‘Right’ for their own night.

Rio-resident and prog-explorer Morttagua is first with the remix flame, fashioning ‘Right’ into a fantastically all-consuming, ether-filled thriller. Bass-throb, percussive tap, spaced sub-melodies and orchestral hits all contribute to its headily-potent progressive vision, ultimately seeing the Brazilian replace its guitar mainline with moody-as-you-like synths.

From there the release pirouettes from deeper perspectives to those of Johan Gielen, who sends ‘Right’ that much later into the night. Mounting his mix atop scudding drums, moving chords and percussion-spurred rhythms, he homages the original’s guitar inflections and maraca snaps, before letting his stirring mainline notes rain from the sky.
