Few artists can boast the same creative scope as Legion & Logam. Owning a back catalogue of melodic rollers which exemplify their lasting impression, the trio's technicality often goes unrivalled.
It's unsurprising then, that Program stepped up and showcased this exciting and pivotal release. For anyone unaware of their masterful production style, the artists have introduced themselves in two halves. And both tracks are delicately woven, sonic blasts to the aural senses.
The ride begins with 'House of Cards', tightly coiling its energy like a spring and snapping under its audible weight. Firmly compact with booming drum loops sat defiantly amongst the scratch, snap and skit of percussion, the two elements juxtapose flawlessly. The ethereal arpeggio of piano notes leads into the soulful, wispy vocal of Adam Wright, and it adds a delicacy to the record which only emphasises its detail. Nevertheless, it still holds an intimidating depth which begins to surge with power between each layer. Every break subdues your synapses into submission, as they struggle to intercept the icy allure that this track manifests.
Next up is 'Solace', a power house of emotion conveyed with each atmospheric pad succession. The melody weaves back and forth through a pumping-bassline, skipping momentarily, before driving the track forward and pulling every sound into a wave of command. The more humanistic elements are brought to the surface, despite being quickly submerged, ghost-like against its musicality. Relentless, dark and brooding, but full of clarity and sentiment, this record consummates a style which the producers are renowned for.
With an obvious nod to the liquid vibe prevalent throughout the dnb community, but turning it into something more distinct and imposing, this was the perfect project for both the imprint and the artists.
So once again…. it's time to get with the Program!

Including names which helped the label’s rise and those who have enabled it to stay as one of the defining underground imprints of the contemporary market, there’s a host of artists who’ve been brought in to celebrate this monumental part of its journey.
Program’s commitment to emerging producers is still displayed across the album’s track listing. Andy C - 'Ghost' ft. DJ Rae

Set to be a highlight of his forthcoming sell-out SSE Wembley Arena show, Andy C’s ‘Ghost’ Feat. DJ Rae is fast becoming one of the biggest dance records of the year. Featuring the incredible vocals of DJ Rae, ‘Ghost’ is a peak time anthem, and follow’s Andy’s summer heater, ‘Boom’, a blast of scorching, underground drum & bass with his live show wingman and MC, Tonn Piper. Premiered by UKF, and with the support of the biggest names in d&b’s global community, ‘Boom’ was the first new music from Andy this year, and has been blasting out across the international festival circuit as post-covid nightlife resumes. ‘Ghost’, meanwhile, see’s Andy return to the style of ‘Heartbeat Loud’, and his remixes of ‘Get Free’ and ‘Right Here’.

The day after the release of ‘Ghost’, Andy C will headline The SSE Arena, Wembley on 23rd October for his second sell-out ‘Andy C All Night Wembley’. This return match, which sold out in just 20 minutes, will see him DJ on one of the world’s greatest stages for a second time, following his landmark show in 2018 – the first all-night event to be held at the venue – and which sold out in 3 days.

One of the first DJs to resume touring in 2021 via New Zealand’s reopened festival circuit, Andy played a sold-out arena tour across the country. This summer he’s headlined UK and European festivals including We Are FSTVL, Warehouse Project, Parklife, Boardmasters, hosting the One 7 Four Stage at Creamfields, RTN II DANCE Festival, Whitcombe Cider festival, Illusive Festival, Boundary Festival, Escape In The Park, and more.

The covid pandemic saw all live touring stopped throughout 2020. Andy chose to do one special live stream during the year, hitting 5 million people, and with 35k people tuned in at any one time. Andy finished 2019 with a sell-out session at London’s Printworks for his Andy C Xmas Party. He’d begun the year with his second 13-week residency at XOYO’s subterranean main room (the first ever resident invited back to the club, his second residency sold out in 2 hours). He then hit the international circuit with EDC Las Vegas, and Avant Gardner in New York, and the first of the year’s festivals with We Are FSTVL, Snowbombing, and Cardiff’s Titan Warehouse. His summer 2019 season was his busiest to date, headlining the likes of SW4, Reading & Leeds, Parklife, Creamfields, and many more.

SSE Arena Wembley follows previous milestones like Brixton Academy and Alexandra Palace, impressive achievements that sit alongside 2018 award wins including DJ Mag (Best British DJ), DNBA (Best DJ), Top 100 DJs Poll (Highest Drum & Bass DJ), and the Ibiza DJ Awards (Best Bass DJ); and the 40+ awards he’s amassed over his career.

DJ Rae is a multi talented artist, singer, songwriter, DJ and producer crafting her own path in the house music scene since her first signing to Defected Records. Rae has gone on to achieve UK chart success, and a string of #1 chart positions across the biggest electronic music platforms with her own self-penned works. She's collaborated with and performed alongside MK, Todd Terry, David Penn, Louie Vega, Kerri Chandler and many more, headlining worldwide tours with Defected In The House, Pacha, Strictly Rhythm, Armada and Ministry of Sound. Major dance festivals and conferences have seen Rae combining seamless vocals throughout her DJ sets. As a performer DJ Rae has covered the spectrum from intimate underground house clubs to key dance events and the world's biggest arenas. Alongside her own headline shows Rae has toured for the last 4 years with the hugely successful Hacienda Classical as lead vocalist, taking front stage at some of the world's most iconic stages, Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, Royal Albert Hall, London, Isle of Wight festival and Dubai Opera House.

Ram wasn’t the beginning of Magnetude’s path, but it’s an imprint which as represented a home for the Anglo-Russian duo and it’s a place where they’ve been able to explore their creativity. However, it’s their raucous, dancefloor cuts which have created a place for them within the 25-year strong Ram Records back catalogue and it’s ensured they’ve become a buy-on-site duo for DJs across the drum & bass spectrum. But for their next release, they’ve decided to slow down the tempo and focus on a different side of their production repertoire. Joining them is long-time collaborator Julia Marks, who adds her stunning vocal crescendos and heartfelt lyricism into the mix for their forthcoming single ‘Before the Dawn’.

‘Before the Dawn’ still orchestrates the same sonic altitudes which Magnetude have presented throughout their previous singles on Ram, including the likes of ‘Arcade’ and ‘Snatch’ - although the emotions which mould with the distorted-bass rhythms and peaking synthesizers of ‘Before the Dawn’ bring you through to another part of their musical capabilities. The record highlights how Magnetude aren’t just drum & bass producers; they stretch their talents throughout a range of subgenres, which is also something Ram became renowned for during dance music’s explosion into the commercial sphere.

On the reverse, there’s a drum & bass mix for fans who crave for their beats to be at a quicker pace. Whilst the pulse quickens, it still features the emotive patches which rise above the track’s grittier drum sequences. They come thicker and faster, pushing forward with a more driving bassline as you’re given a track which provides both a set climax, and even a perfect intro.

Already spearheaded by the likes of Andy C, ‘Before the Dawn’ is a statement from Magnetude and gives another clear insight into the newcomer’s ambitions. With more music already prepared for the New Year, it’s about to be another very determined twelve months for Magnetude, alongside an already impressive output of releases.

With the sound of ‘War Dub’ still reverberating across the scene, Calyx & Teebee are ready with the next sonic weapon in their brand new ‘Plates’ series: ‘Cloak & Dagger.’ Their second single will land on June 19th.

Atmospheric pads give the intro a haunting, almost ethereal feel, building to a drop that will swamp the senses. A razor-edged bassline chops, changes and switches with deft vocal hits weaved deftly in between. ‘Cloak & Dagger’ bears all the hallmarks of Calyx & Teebee’s textured sound.

Exploring Ram’s back catalogue, there’s a host of artists offering their own take on its sound, whilst also creating their imperative place within drum & bass. Ram hasn’t just featured their innovative roster of artists, but they’ve also hosted guest appearances from equally influential names. Blackout figureheads Black Sun Empire are the next producers to take this opportunity, alongside Nymfo and State of Mind, presenting a double-sided single which pays homage to their formidable titles within the neurofunk subset. The release is technically streamlined, with an edge that tears through any commercial constraints.

Black Sun Empire join Dutch neighbour Nymfo for ‘Surge Engine’, merging together their undeniable dancefloor appeal and Nymfo’s dark, brooding undertones. It presents a more understated reverse, beginning with snapping, ominous instrumentals and clanking snares. The metallic undertow and its blaring flutes drag you into a surging mix, alluding to its track title whilst its impact becomes heavier between every layer. With each sixteen bars, more technicality floods the composition and you’re left to fully immerse yourself in the levels that Black Sun Empire and Nymfo can achieve as a conjoined force.
Then Black Sun Empire and State of Mind detonate ‘Ripsaw’ without hesitation. They bring two colossal production standards together, charging forward with dainty, yet somehow intimidating pads and a gradual climb into the unknown. As the record builds segment upon segment, you suddenly become aware of a hook beneath the surface which begins to set the scene. You’re then thrown through its chaotic descent, whilst crackling LFOs help keep its driving momentum, engineering an unstoppable record which has already over run the club circuit.

2014 stands as a defining moment for the RAM Records imprint. Not only did it announce the pivotal signing of artists like Audio, Teddy Killerz and Bensley but they also oversaw the birth of compilation series RAMLife hosted by Loadstar. Even in its first form, it contained nearly every essential release the last twelve months had to offer.

But this year, RAMLife is taking you into deeper and murkier dimensions. Having already flexed his production muscle on the ricocheting, four-track 'Nil by Mouth' EP, as well as his first visual debut in the music video for 'Heads Up', it's now time for Audio to cut open and expose his musical psyche.

Including some of the most aggressive, technically adept and prominent artists the genre has to offer, including Bad Company, Optiv & BTK and Noisia to name a few, no stone goes unturned for the album's entirety. Audio also throws bass-fuelled bullets in the form of exclusives, with explosive VIPs that have yet to be released.


But what can you expect from the man who garners such an explosive reputation across the club circuit? Audio brings his live personality into the whole album and accompanying mix; one that doesn't let you pause for breath.
