Sprinting at an incredible speed, June Miller are inevitably coming closer to their debut album. With seven more days until this conundrum of genre cross-pollination and production ingenuity is unleashed, here's a small appetiser to prepare yourself for an eclipse, caused by June Miller's vast capabilities.

'Chain of Strength' is a starter which hits you with wave after wave of seismic bass-driven impact, instantly recognisable as the intro to Andy C's soldout Brixton performance. Lead unsuspectingly from a lulling piano intro, straight through a chasm of smashing, hardcore-reminiscent percussion and driving drums, it proves the duo's endless versatility. Alongside a building break that literally pulses with anticipation, that first drop leaves you free-falling into an explosion of tightly intricate composition. A complete sensory overload, it sets a standard matched by their new material.

Then comes 'Last Night on Earth', creepy and gradually building tension with an instantly-recognisable sample of cinematic proportions. Both tracks are equally unstoppable, not leaving you time to breathe and carrying across an ocean of sound which is relentless. Amongst the ghost-like, clashing swords and almost untenable intensity, you're pulled through loops of incessant hi-hats, amongst palpitation-inducing drum patterns.

A single that embodies the peak of any weekend set, here's the marker for June Miller's meteoric rise. After merging some of the darkest European styles, as well as smashing genre prototypes and incorporating drum & bass' core production, the duo are switching up the game onto its next level.

Magnetude
Arcade
Released – 6th July
RAMM329

Magnetude’s formative single ‘Snatch / Signals’ marked the beginning of their relationship with Ram Records. The Anglo-Russian hybrid was brought together through their mutual love of music and this is evident through each one of their sonic imaginings. Their incredible production standard and attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed by drum & bass figurehead Ram, as their cross-pollination of influences filtered through their meticulously fashioned compositions. After spending the last year solidly working on their unique blend of dance music, they had their defining moment on the drum & bass behemoth, which is now being followed in quick succession by forthcoming record ‘Aracde’.

‘Arcade’ has already been doing the rounds, becoming a signature within the duo’s sets throughout the world. The 8-bit breakdown and synth-layered crescendos take you through each track switch, as you’re pulled deeper and deeper into a pin-ball machine of evilly-laughing samples amongst fast-paced beat patterns. Magnetude demonstrate that there’s more to come following their sophomore release and that this is only the beginning for a pair who’ve spent years sharing their craft online. With the backing of an imprint that has had twenty five years to define their roster, Magnetude are a welcome addition to Ram’s genre-shaping catalogue.

With ADE looming on the horizon, it only seemed apt for Ram to yet again provide the perfect drum and bass entrée for Europe's premium dance event. Set to bring another stellar line up from their roster, this compilation packed full of exclusives helps to epitomise the imprint's legacy within dance music. Including brand new cuts, demonstrating the Ram's longevity, this album plays homage to two decades of output.

Leading you deeper into the dark side of 2015, this year's Ramsterdam compilation not only pedestals the artists who've made such a titanic impact throughout the last ten months, but also the emerging talent from sister label Program and Ram's newest signees. Whether it's the old school, growling riddim from Aggressor Bunx, or Calyx & TeeBee's tell-tale, trembling bassline, each track gives the album a unique vantage point.

Featuring on the collosal track listing is Delta Heavy; an exclusive which relays their elevating, pumping composition, it's a dancefloor banger sure to detonate any crowd. And Frankee also makes a welcomed return, following the release of his anticipated single 'Downtown'. 'Raptor' is unforgiving, snapped up by different animalistic samples and stridently aggressive – pedestalling Frankee's unforgiving production standards.

On a totally different vibe, Freek is back with 'Born Different', a clanking yet powerful number, one which gears up into LFO-lead chaos with snapping percussion between each break. Brand new music from production outfits Teddy Killerz and Mind Vortex also make a very valuable addition, proving their unbridled talent, with merciless yet complex records that are fierce and gagging to be let loose on Amsterdam's clubs.

Two of this year's most resounding tracks from the Ram camp, Bensley's 'Aftermath' and Gerra & Stone's 'L.I.E.S.' have also received revamps, providing two anticipated VIPs already igniting sets worldwide. Loadstar also deliver the goods; brand new heavy-hitter 'Dune' demonstrates exactly why they've become such revered names across the genre.

So, here's to another Amsterdam Dance Event. One with a soundtrack provided by one of the most enduring labels, and stellar rosters, that dance music has played host to. And with Ram also holding a night this October, from first listen onwards prepare to be immerse yourself in Ram's vast musical environment.

RECEIVING SUPPORT FROM ANDY C, CHASE & STATUS, NETSKY, WILKINSON, ADVENTURE CLUB, SUB FOCUS & MORE

"The British pair, consisting of Ben Hall and Simon James, have been impressing crowds of bassheads with their undeniable talent in producing dubstep, DnB, trap, and generally all things heavy." – DJ Mag

"From their D&B roots they've since gone on to demonstrate their impeccable production skills across a multitude of genres from 110 to dubstep to electro." – UKF

One of the most exciting UK duos to take their sound transatlantic, Delta Heavy are returning after the viral success of their last single 'Ghost' with the perfect successor. Captivating crowds with their cross-genre pollination, this next release solidifies a position for two of the most diverse producers the scene has to offer. Whether it's at 174 bpm or switching it down a notch for the kind of sub-filled, bouncy records which made them so notorious across the club circuit, this next output from Delta Heavy perfectly merges two opposite ends of the spectrum. And this will stand as a resounding part of their discography; that's both on the radio airwaves and from the speakers of venues globally.

Whether it's playing on stages across the US touring with Ram, sitting on line ups at the world's biggest festivals or entering the drum & bass Beatport top ten on consecutive releases, Delta Heavy's feats haven't gone unnoticed. As well as amassing scores of fans from each continent and racking up millions of streams since their first output, a heavyweight title is about to be reinstated.

First up is the genre defying 'Punish my Love', pumped up by a chiselled groove and lead by the high-reaching vocals of rising stalwart Tanika. Its more humanistic elements slip between throbbing subs and a warbling bassline, it exposes how far their repertoire can extend to. On the flipside, we're presented with a vastly different mix, which still manages to hold onto the deep-seated funk that's prevalent throughout its predecessor. Sped up, unapologetic and drivingly powerful from the first break, it juxtaposes the original presenting a record that'll detonate real dancefloor devastation.

Signalling one step closer to a second LP, Delta Heavy have once again proved their aptitude for drum & bass production standards, as well as their ability to tap into their diverse musical backgrounds for an astounding end to 2015. And with their album looming on the horizon, the single is set to build momentum at an even quicker speed.

Established by Andy C and Ant Miles in 1992, the label has boldly placed itself on the forefront since its inception, acting as a foundation for the drum & bass genre and seeing through its development from the very beginning.

Once heralded as a platform for Andy C’s own productions, the imprint expanded massively, becoming a world-renowned hub for some of the biggest drum & bass artists to ever hit the scene. The label has gone from strength to strength, helping to pedestal house-hold names such as Chase & Status, Sub Focus and Wilkinson. From the charts to the radio airwaves, they’ve continued their crossover success.Receiving daytime airplay and top ten positions unceasingly over the last decade, the producers have enabled Ram’s influence to seep into every corner of dance music.

Alongside support from BMG and current label manager Jim Gash, 2017 has seen Ram Records ascend to new heights. And to celebrate their twenty fifth year, Ram will be rereleasing twenty five original remastered classics from their definitive back catalogue as well as seventeen remixes, including reworks from Chase & Status, Killbox, DC Breaks, Frankee, Total Science, Benny L, Kasra and Enei, Ant Miles and Shimon, Bladerunner, DJ Marky Calyx & Teebee, Sound in Noise and Metrik. All in, it’s Ram’s most ambitious project to date.

The 25th year of Ram’s history is looking to be its most memorable yet. Both musically and through their major city UK tour dates, Ram’s versatile roster is still being pushed to new borders. Quarter of a century on and the record label is as strong as ever.

NickBee - Tension Pulse
NickBee & Mean Teeth - Monumental

Stream/Buy: https://ram.lnk.to/TensionID

____

NickBee has often been heralded as a contemporary architect for the neurofunk subgenre and when looking at the music he’s released throughout his career in drum & bass it's clear to see why. With its cutting, animalistic basslines and maintained chaos his sounds have infiltrated some of the genre’s biggest labels within its underground scene and one of these imprints has been Ram Record’s sister-label Program.

This is where he’s due to drop his next release, the double-sided single ‘Tension Pulse’ and ‘Monumental’ featuring likeminded duo Mean Teeth, who have just as much of a reputation as their innovative counterpart. Whilst ‘Tension Pulse’ platforms the melodies which NickBee conjures delicately his jagged drum work also cuts through. On the reverse, ‘Monumental’ delivers sweeping layers of bass, animatronic vocals and the crunching segments Mean Teeth have added into the mix. With another dynamic team offering music for the label, once again it’s time to get with the Program.

Skantia - 'Cluster'

Skantia – ‘Cluster’

The journey of Skantia’s signing to RAM and subsequent debut single is quite the whirlwind story. Initially picking up his tracks for release on ProgRAM – culminating in the Unorthodox EP earlier this year – his graduation has been swift. ‘Cluster’ is further proof of why.

Already a firm favourite in Andy C’s sets during his XOYO residency and beyond, ‘Cluster’ packs some serious punch: a growling, drawn-out lead bass provides raw depth while Skantia’s energetic, edit-laden drum patterns give it a stripped back, roller feel.

This is just the beginning for the Newcastle native on his journey as part of the RAM family and there’s more to come; including a cheeky remix which has turned into one of the biggest dubs of 2019 and been the subject of much internet discussion since. But right now, ‘Cluster’ is the perfect accompaniment as Skantia to steps into the limelight.

Original Sin
‘Inertia’

Released 1st February 2019
RAMM341

___

It’s been more than a year since Original Sin’s last musical excursion on Ram Records. Having debuted on the label with the vocal-driven ‘Lost’, featuring BB Diamond, he once again returns to the fold with something of a monster.

‘Inertia’ has all the trademarks of an Original Sin banger: an intro that slowly builds with its Bladerunner style atmospherics, this lulls you into a false sense of electronic security until, suddenly, you’re snapped back in the room. Then all hell breaks loose - jagged synths signal the arrival of the drop and then you’re slammed head first into an onslaught of relentless, stomping drums and rumbling low end madness. If you’re familiar with his classic ‘Therapy’ then think of ‘Inertia’ as it’s slightly aggier younger brother.

Always a welcome addition to the Ram family, Original Sin has given us something that will be an essential in every DJ’s set throughout 2019.

DC Breaks - 'Control The World'

With a 15-year long journey, DC Breaks premiere their brand new XV project in its entirety, wrapping together a decade and a half's work alongside longtime collaborators and fresh sounds from the duo. A staple of the Ram Records moniker, the pair have become synonymous with dancefloor drum & bass, continually wracking up tastemaker support across press and radio, as well as artists throughout every corner of the dance music genre. Whether it is spins on Annie Mac’s flagship Radio 1 show, or hundreds of thousands of plays on UKF’s YouTube channel, they are a production outfit which has broken ground throughout their careers.

After already teasing a host of singles across 2020, which have included ‘Back For More’, ‘Club Thug’, ‘We Never Slow Down’ ft. Eva Lazarus and ‘Raise the Bar’ alongside the lyrical prowess of MC Coppa, there’s also a huge sum of new music about to be unleashed.

Each new selection showcases the breadth of styles which DC Breaks have covered throughout the years. It’s the perfect way for DC Breaks to draw towards another ten years in the game. And it underlines why they’re still a defining force within the larger drum & bass ecosystem for 2021.

Upgrade – ‘Won’t Hold Back’

Currently tearing his way through drum & bass, Upgrade isn’t unfamiliar to RAM. Prior appearances in 2015 and 2016 offered a more musical side to Upgrade’s production, veering from his now high-octane signature jump up style.

His debut single ‘Won’t Hold Back’ is a merging of both those worlds. Vocals - provided by the man himself - are layered over jazzy piano chords before they distort into a driving high-end melody and energetic drums.

‘Won’t Hold Back’ is something a little unexpected from Upgrade, and makes a fresh addition to the label’s ever growing catalogue.

Frankee has stood as one of the most hotly tipped producers on Ram's roster, catapulting himself onto the scene with aggressive and divisive dancefloor slayers. However, having two decades within the game already notched on his musical bed post, the producer has cemented himself within the genre's trophy cabinet. And he's returning after a brief hiatus with two brand new pieces of sonic artwork to take you into Summer's final months; a farewell to the festival stages his anthems have been played from.
Receiving support from Ram's head honcho Andy C, who's pedestalled his sound since it was first discovered by the revered veteran, and radio tastemakers alike, Frankee has a firm history behind him with previous releases. His next single 'Clap Your Hands' and 'Love & Peace' present two immensely different tracks which epitomize why Frankee's music has garnered such a backing, whilst exposing the polar opposites of his sound. Whether you were looking for the pounding, bassline driven layers of 'Drop it Low' or the more ethereal, heart-felt vibe of his Loadstar 'Away' remix, this single channels both sides of the coin.
Your first introduction to Frankee's return is via 'Clap Your Hands', once again platforming the sub-driven records he's famed for. Building up into a cascading drop whilst grinding LFO provides the steps, it's difficult not to be pulled in by its relentless beats and quick-fire drum patterns. With metallic vocal samples adding encouragement between each segment, Frankee is back and carrying the weaponry which made him so dangerous behind the decks.
On the reverse, 'Love and Peace' adds another dimension, not only proving Frankee's production capabilities, but also a contrast in musical attitudes. Natural yet still synthetic, it brings together shaking percussion and female vocals in a way that curtails both the light and dark shades of his skillset. A blissful liquid roller that carries itself from start to finish, it features nostalgic breaks whilst keeping a mechanical continuity.
This next output proves Frankee is back… And just like before, he's demonstrating why he's become a quintessential part in people's libraries.

2014 stands as a defining moment for the RAM Records imprint. Not only did it announce the pivotal signing of artists like Audio, Teddy Killerz and Bensley but they also oversaw the birth of compilation series RAMLife hosted by Loadstar. Even in its first form, it contained nearly every essential release the last twelve months had to offer.

But this year, RAMLife is taking you into deeper and murkier dimensions. Having already flexed his production muscle on the ricocheting, four-track 'Nil by Mouth' EP, as well as his first visual debut in the music video for 'Heads Up', it's now time for Audio to cut open and expose his musical psyche.

Including some of the most aggressive, technically adept and prominent artists the genre has to offer, including Bad Company, Optiv & BTK and Noisia to name a few, no stone goes unturned for the album's entirety. Audio also throws bass-fuelled bullets in the form of exclusives, with explosive VIPs that have yet to be released.

The brand new cut 'Foodchain' from Audio sets a theme which is prevalent throughout all 27 tracks. Uncompromising yet diligently crafted, it leads you into a freight train of musicality which holds you hostage from start to finish. Zipping through to the mechanical composition of Mefjus' 'Brainwork', all the way back to Spor's heavy-hitting 'Bullet Time' remix; this is a no holds barred exploration of the genre's darker side.

But what can you expect from the man who garners such an explosive reputation across the club circuit? Audio brings his live personality into the whole album and accompanying mix; one that doesn't let you pause for breath. They're a collection of tracks that'll leave an atomic bomb sized impression inside the community, which further solidifies his reputation as an ever- growing, unstoppable goliath.

Few acts showcase drum & bass's exciting creative scope with the same skillish vibrancy as June Miller.

Since signing to Ram Records a year ago, the Dutch/Anglo duo have locked themselves away in their Utrecht HQ working on a series of mindblowing creations. Deep in sonic solitude, they've pushed themselves to whole new levels... As proved by the stunning 'Empathy' and 'Operation Ivy'. Both pivotal tracks on Andy C's explosively extensive 'Nightlife 6' opus, these cuts represent June Miller's chiselled production skills like never before.

We kick off with 'Empathy'. Igniting with a surging sense of soul, the unity of timeless synths and spellbinding vocals set a smouldering scene that's suddenly shattered into gnarled fragments when the drop lands. An overwhelming bass riff scuffs across the blistering breakbeats to create a thunderous groove. Instant riot material, this has been tried and tested by Andy C since the summer, each airing causing unparalleled commotion in its wake.

'Operation Ivy' complements the carnage perfectly. A jittering, snake-like roller with deep funk coded into every element, everything about this pristine precision piece is designed to get the floor wriggling. From the crisp digi slap bass to the strident, spacious drum dynamics and textured rhythmic stabs, this is an impeccable example of how measured and meticulous drum & bass production standards are when they're in the right hands.

Two outstanding cuts from one of the scene's most forward-thinking, accomplished acts, two representations of how far-reaching and creative drum & bass can be: June Miller have an incredible year ahead of them. And it starts right here.

June Miller
1: Saus 2: Ups & Downs 3: Bad Brains 4: The Promise Ring

The introductions are over; June Miller are back and there's no apology. They've reappeared having been stooped in solitary confinement; presenting a handful of cuts, only to prove that this was brutally productive and they've been working hard to follow up their last release.
Bare-knuckled and still swinging, this EP sees June Miller entering round three and raising the bar yet another level. The precursor to their forthcoming album, from 'The Promise Ring' to the resounding brass of 'Saus', it certainly sets a precedent.
Rolling out first is a record featuring Mefjus, a production freight-train who's been setting the competition alight in recent months. 'Saus' is no different, with June Miller intertwining a tightly compact composition which smashes your synapses on impact. Rattling through on tracks of unhinged percussion, prepare yourself for a musical excursion which will take you through the darkest depths of drum and bass. But what else could you expect, when the talents of June Miller and Mefjus are so effortlessly combined?
Coming up next, title-track 'Ups & Downs' shows the pair's ability to completely flip an emotive vocal sample onto its back. The way they use this sound component shows undiluted ingenuity, creating a totally different impact with every switch. It begins through a wave of static, with a break that slowly leads you up a drum-paved crescendo. Then it pounds, drops and pulls you up just as quickly, creating dynamics which merge to create an electronic masterpiece.
Then we're introduced to 'Bad Brains'. There's no denying why this track has been used to intro so many sets over the past year. It winds up with an intimidating compactness, before springing you into chaos. Bludgeoning beats roll with each bar set and there's no escape from its driving onslaught. This track is instantly recognisable on first listen, alluding to June Miller's ever-growing profile.
And lastly, we have 'The Promise Ring'. Adding a sexier vibe to its predecessors, the producers have yet again showed there's a hidden depth to their musicality. Snapping, tapping and with a female vocal oozing between carefully layered constructs, it's a nod to their huge reel of ability. This last reaffirms that their debut album is sure to feature some of the most perfectly crafted, versatile music the Ram imprint has to offer.
