Landing 10 years after his first concept album, Wehbba’s drops his debut full-length on Drumcode, featuring collaborations with David Caretta, Thomas Gandey and Brazilian vocalist L-cio.

Following a series of globally adored EPs and inclusions within the imprint’s esteemed A-Sides compilation series, the chart-dominating São Paulo native now reflects upon his life as ‘the artist’, offering an immersive montage of stories that echo a tenacious dedication to his craft. Enlisting the talents of multi-instrumentalist Thomas Gandey, Electroclash pioneer David Carretta and fellow Brazilian L-cio, with his unparalleled flute mastery, Wehbba’s synergetic cuts span the breadth of electronic music’s sonic landscape, as he challenges the notion of genres with seasoned voices.

Birthed from the purest inspiration, the album’s 13 cuts represent a myriad of musical references close to Wehbba’s heart, running parallel with the organic sensibilities of his field recordings. An ode to eternal growth, the LP highlights a cycle of perception and projection, as Wehbba studies the morphing of genres through his own musical filter. Discussing the upcoming album, Wehbba commented

"The musical references on these works trace back to the 90s, when I started listening to electronic music and had no judgement of what was cool - when I was totally free. So they represent, without any filter, what touched me, ranging from braindance to goa trance, from ambient to hard house, and from drum n’ bass through every single mutation of techno and house music."

As a key ambassador for Brazil’s dance music community on a global scale, Wehbba’s long-standing career has seen him affiliate with many of the industry greats on both remix and collaborative projects; testament to his flourishing reputation. Following on from the geometric-led titles of his first two albums, Straight Lines and Sharp Corners alludes to the difficult decisions and blunt shifts he has faced in his career, and their capacity to shape his identity over time. Studying the great Antoni Gaudi, Wehbba’s third LP title takes reference from his perceptive quote "There are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature, therefore buildings must have no straight lines or sharp corners. Anything created by human beings is already in the great book of nature." .

Drumcode is more than a label, it’s a movement. Founded by Adam Beyer, it stands as the highest selling and most influential imprint in techno, has spawned a radio show listened to by millions each week, and a global events brand hosting festivals and events throughout Europe, North and South America. Adam Beyer’s unwavering commitment to quality, combined with a future-focused ethos are the cornerstone of the brand’s success. His definition of techno is open-minded and expansive, while resolutely refusing to compromise on the smallest detail with every aspect of Drumcode’s output.

Lyrics for BB Cooper - Give Me Love
Lift me up
Tear me down
The smallest taste to keep me coming round

Build your walls
Wear your crown
It’s unnatural

You Keep the fire burning
Just to swear you’ll put it out
You got me spinning circles
Round and round

Life me up
Tear me down
It’s unnatural
When I need the most
And I don’t wanna wait
You take it all away

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Let me catch
My breath
My heart about to beat out of my chest

But your love
It’s my drug
So unnatural

Doctor, Doctor, Doctor
Won’t you give me something else
She got me spinning circles
Round and round

Lift me up
Tear me down
So unnatural

When I need the most
And I don’t wanna wait
You take it all away

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Take it all away

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love
Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Give me love
Give me love
Give me love

Dabin unfortunately mentioned that he is canceling his tour yet again due to COVID. He used to play this mashup during his live shows often and I wanted to bring this up for many of you who have either heard it live or have yet to uncover this gem. There are a few people who remade this, and it sounds similar to Suzuki who also made an amazing edit, but I prefer this version the best. I found this one on illdesza's Soundcloud so please correct me if this isn't the proper credit but noticed he made a bunch of these mashups. Either way I hope you all enjoy!

LYRICS
we fight we play,
and cry for space,
but give me sometime.

i need you the most,
when the fire,
has raised
cause you give me a light.

at times i know,
my mind,
you can’t take.
but you’re here
With to ignite

you’re loud,
you’re crazy,
with a temper
and brains
but we are alike.

Yeah were going round round and round,
it’s like we’re a circus,
and were falling down down and down,
with our words we hurt us,

we have our falling out, out but don’t,
let it break our nerves.
cause
you know how to play this game.

Yeah were going round round and round
its like were a circus,
fighting, tryna find, find our minds in what’s left,
to love, oh.
we have our falling out, out but don’t let it break our nerves,
cause,
you know how to play this game.

When i make mistakes
i know that you’re here beside me
falling out of place never felt so good till i met, you

when i makes i take it back and I’m sorry
can’t make up my mind
you know what to say when i need, you.

your eyes
don’t stray
cause you know,
where is home,
where i need you to be.

to the world
we’re alone,
they don’t know,
that I’m safe.
when you’re right here with me,

the words i say
can be harsh,
sometimes,
you ignore, cause you see.

There’s more,
and i’ll change,
with time,
you’re the same,
And you’ll work it with me.

Yeah were going round round and round,
It’s like we’re a circus,
and were falling down down and down,
with our words we hurt us,

Yeah were going round round and round,
It’s like we’re a circus,

we have our falling out, out but don’t,
let it break our nerves.
cause
you know how to play this game.

Yeah were going round round and round
its like were a circus,
fighting, tryna find, find our minds in what’s left,
to love, oh.
we have our falling out, out but don’t let it break our nerves,
cause,
you know how to play this game.

When i make mistakes
i know that you’re here beside me

Mind Vortex

4: Till the Sun Comes Up

Buy via:
iTunes - http://po.st/ColoursEPiT

Locked away in sonic solitude, Mind Vortex have been building these next four cuts with absolute precision. And being such a pivotal signing for the RAM imprint, it's no surprise that this EP has been met with almost unbearable anticipation.

Few acts capture the vibrancy and pent-up energy that Mind Vortex commands. Another charged assault on the ears, the 'Colours EP' is definitely a return to form. An impressive feat, having already set the bar high with tracks like 'Hotbox' being showcased on label head Andy C's revered Nightlife series.
'Till the Sun Comes' opens you up to the possibility of seeing the producer's full musicality. A funk infused texture which is hits your aural taste buds with every loop, you'll find it difficult not to be overcome by the track's turbo-powered hook. Yet again, the duo has conjured a hotbed of forward thinking drum and bass, threatening to create unparalleled dance floor chaos.

One of their biggest releases to date, expect this EP to resound in both underground dancehalls and the headphones of dnb-heads everywhere. These four blasting production behemoths will ensure that Mind Vortex stay on the agenda's forefront.

Mind Vortex

1. Against The Grain
2. Bigger Than That feat. Evil B
3. Curveball
4. Stand High feat. Daniella

After the release of their 'Colours' EP in 2014, Mind Vortex have switched up a gear and are now rolling forward with even more intensity. Presenting yet another four slabs of sonic-attitude, they've solidified their mark in Ram's roster and are this time coming for the jugular. If you were looking for the same pent-up aggression as 'Hotbox' and 'Gravity', Mind Vortex are not here to disappoint.

Title-track 'Against the Grain' serves as the perfect entrée. Pulsating subs are underpinned by quickening drum patterns, which pull you against a baying tide. Snapping against booming kicks and elevating into an exploding crescendo, one which is meticulously planned. Mind Vortex have shifted the drum & bass paradigm, by merging different stylistic patterns demonstrated even within the EP's very first track.

Rolling out next with quick fire beats and the intimidating growl of Evil B is 'Bigger than that'. The MC leads you into a construction line of chaos, crafted by funk driven basslines and breaks which are bulging at their seams. Weighty, menacing and instantly grappling your attention, it's a sure-fire club anthem… One which has already ignited dancefloors.

With longing piano notes steppily taking you through its introduction, 'Curve Ball' throws you headfirst into a midst of infectious synths and fluctuating key patterns. A driving anthem, yet one which takes its time to methodically build segments, the track stays true to its name. Constantly throwing you jauntily into different directions, this is demonstrative of Mind Vortex's ability to hold you by the ears. There's no stopping this pounding riddim; it beholds a pulse to keep you dancing.

Then finally, comes 'Stand High'. Daniela's vocal delights take you through a journey between breaks, elevated with each beat pattern. Again, Mind Vortex epitomises their command over every nerve in your body. Aboard vocal crescendos, risen by elevating synths you're baited by each hook and snared almost too easily. It's the perfect accompaniment to three already hard-hitting stompers… Proving Mind Vortex's versatility, a trait which is sure to see them explode in the next twelve months.
