At the heart of the music Rebecca Scheja and Fiona Fitzpatrick make as Rebecca & Fiona is their friendship. The pair met through a mutual friend over six years ago in their hometown of Stockholm and immediately connected over life, music and everything in between. Both were grounded in the Swedish DJ scene, promoting club nights around town, and eventually transformed their connection to the genre by creating music of their own. The duo released their first single, “Luminary Ones,” in May of 2010 and scored an opening slot for Robyn on her European Tour. Their sound expanded on buoyant debut album I Love You, Man, which was released in the U.S. in the spring of 2012. Now Rebecca & Fiona’s second album, “Beauty Is Pain”, reveals a continuation in their friendship and an evolution in their music.

Swedish group jj emerged in 2009 on the Gothenburg-based record label Sincerely Yours with a particularly gratifying take on the musical preoccupations common to much of the label's roster, which includes its founders, The Tough Alliance. jj are distributed in North America by Secretly Canadian. The band consists of Joakim Benon and Elin Kastlander.
jj's take on neo-Balearic indie pop filters Air France's tropical haze, The Tough Alliance's penchant for slyly irreverent appropriation, and The Honeydrips' fragile twee pop melodicism into a beguilingly lush, gently electronic style, reminiscent of prime Saint Etienne with a smoother, beachier sheen. jj also share their label mates' propensity for mystery, favoring an artfully enigmatic presentation. Vocalist Elin Kastlander provides a distinguishing sonic hallmark in the form of her warm, lusciously smooth alto.
jj released their debut single jj n° 1 in early 2009. A couple of months later they released their debut album jj n° 2. Their third album, jj n° 3, was released on March 9, 2010.
In late 2010, jj released a mixtape called Kills. The first single from Kills, "Let Them," sampled Akon's "Right Now (Na Na Na)." The single also featured a B-side entitled "I'm The One/Money On My Mind" that samples "Intro" by The xx.
Aside from their official releases, jj has also done several covers and new takes on contemporary songs. For example, they've recorded covers of Akon's "Troublemaker," Jeremih's "Birthday Sex," and the "Theme Song" for the classic 70s American tv series Welcome Back, Kotter. All of these tracks were released for free on the internet.

Shoegaze/post-rock band from Bratislava, Slovakia:
The name was originally created as a joke involving a jam session from which a track was created. After that moment in september of 2008, it was a joke slowly transformed into a serious group effort. Growing together and discovering their own unique soundscape influenced by post-rock and shoegaze, they quickly garnered attention through several gigs in the Slovak and Czech scene and played at festivals like Creepy Teepee in Czech Republic or Wilsonic in Slovakia. Their first EP called We Love Silence, But Silence Is Awkward was released as a free download through slovak netlabel EXITlabel. After this release The Ills played their first slovak tour with band Čisté Tvary, shared stages with bands such as kolowrat, Moustache, Rosa Parks, Dawn To Come, Teapot and mainly, supported Trespassers William in Vienna, A Sunny Day in Glasgow in Košice or Stafrænn Hákon in Budapest.
To Wish Impossible Things, their debut album, also their first physical release, is called after The Cure song and combines shoegaze sound with post-rock aesthetic and emotions of live concerts. It consists of eight tunes, three of them appeared in different versions on their previous releases - We Love Silence, But Silence Is Awkward EP and Lost Trams EP. Also it's the first recording of The Ills from professional studio, even though it was mixed and mastered by their guitarist Martin Krajčír, also known as Isobutane.

The New Division began as a college dorm room project for songwriter John Kunkel back in 2005. After moving from Uruguay (where he resided for 18 years) to Southern California. Kunkel began experimenting with synthesizers after being heavily influenced by the sounds of Joy Division, New Order, and Depeche Mode.
Currently, The New Division is John Kunkel (vocals), Brock Woolsey (guitars), Janzie (synths), and Mark Michaslki (synths). With over 300 songs in their "demo roster," the band is continually writing new material on a regular basis. "We believe the best way to make good music is to write a lot," says frontman John Kunkel. "I wake up every day with fresh ideas, and I seek out sources of inspiration. Sometimes, I'll write three songs in a day if I have the time. It's what I love doing. It's therapeutic."
