In 2015 London Elektricity surprised us all with his first album in over five years. ‘Are We There Yet?’ more than deserved its influx of praise, now the Med School team has taken on the label boss’ latest masterpiece. The ‘Med School Scans’ LP examines, dissects and transforms each track, injecting every member’s unique persona into the critically acclaimed original.

Etherwood, Keeno and Anile compliment London Elektricity’s originals with class, elevating each into majestic adaptations. Whiney and S.P.Y keep up the funk of ‘Tenderless’ and ‘Why Are We Here?’ while seeping through heavier subs and thicker percussions. Frederic Robinson creates an epic, dreamlike state with his rendition of ‘Seven Days To Live’.

Royalston and Rawtekk don’t hold back, their reconstructions of ‘Tone Poem’ and ‘Telefunken Lizard Filter’ move from jazz and soul to depth and darkness. The LP also features members of The Erised with Hidden Element taking ‘Parallax’ to a whole other level.

Med School’s master of melodic drum & bass bliss, Etherwood returns with his 6-track release ‘Lost In The Right Direction’. Since his third album ‘In Stillness’ Etherwood has been travelling through western Europe in his converted camper, breathing in the inspiration that the French hills of Munster and German hikes through Tennenloher Forest have to offer. As an alchemist of atmospherics, Etherwood has introduced a blissful collaboration with Hospital family favourite, Thomas Oliver on ‘See The Sky’. His soaring high notes across Etherwood’s serene beats and moving riffs drive through for a powerful, heart-wrenching drum & bass ballad.

‘Clouds’ is a treat for the senses from start to finish, shimmering D+B soul comes equipped with a moving vocal lead from Phoebe Freya, gentle keys and gorgeous guitar solos. Plus, Etherwood brings through his warm vocal tones on ‘Driving Out’ and ‘The Night’, the latter steering into down-tempo trip-hop territory.

In this sonic re-imagining of his travels and experiences throughout the world are the hypnotic liquid instrumentals ‘Lulerain’, packed with accents of east-asian instrumentation, and ‘Away From It All’, that calls back to Etherwood’s signature sound.

Almost two years on from his incredibly well-received debut album and Etherwood is back with the highly anticipated, “Blue Leaves” LP, a body of work showcasing the sheer talent of one of the UK’s most exciting artists in electronic music. Within this fourteen-track LP, Etherwood has not only displayed his perfected production skills but also outshone more than ever before with his own vocal performances and instrumental prowess.

Captivating listeners with his creativity, Etherwood explores the finer soundscapes of drum & bass, relaying the liquid beauty that his continually growing following have come to love him for. Included are the already popular 2015 releases, “You’ll Always Be a Part of Me”, “Souvenirs” featuring Zara Kershaw and most recent single, “Light My Way Home” featuring Eva Lazarus, premiered by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac. There are the sudden, schizophrenic switch-ups of “Give Me the World” and “I Saw the Face of a Person” that highlight Royalston's unpredictable style. His game of guesswork keeps things exciting and exhilarating throughout with influences of techno, house and trance all enticingly tangled into dirty drums and deep bass. “The Wrath of Mr Sparkles” and “Don’t Give Me Up” are not to be taken lightly, unrelenting and unrestricted to any musical parameters.

Royalston has also enlisted a number of artists to join in the fun and games. Welcoming back Victoria, from pop group MA, cousin and fellow drum & bass producer Pearse Hawkins, Sydney-based singer Emily Harkness and emerging UK hip-hop artist Lyflyk.

When he’s not writing drum & bass Royalston pursues his other passion of illustration, which he’s made full use of in this project, with the intricate detail in his music replicated in the artwork he solely designed.

Etherwood is back and ready to ignite the heavens with his new single ‘Fire Lit Sky’.

Written in the depths of Finland’s misty wilderness, this track is one of purest self-reflection, brought by Etherwood’s complete solitude in the vast Nordic landscape. ‘Fire Lit Sky’ encompasses his signature flair and takes us closer to the spectacular sonic setting of his forthcoming third album.

A pensive introduction is met with warm pads in a silk cocoon of delicate refinement, invoking a beautifully harrowing aural embrace. Rich trajectories and melancholic undertones define the nature of the track - something which has defined Etherwood’s music since his first release on Med School.
