Having reinstated their darker side, DC Breaks return with another vocal driven piece of sonic artwork to take you into festival season. Premiered by 1xtra tastemaker Mistajam, this next cut has already lined sets globally, from their appearance at the world's biggest drum & bass event Let it Roll last year, to headlining Glastonbury's Space Port Stage later this month. And already, it's become a staple for their own track lists, demonstrating an ability to flip the switch and develop a sound which lacks neither diversity nor emotion.
'Never Stop' is an anthem which conjures images of lost love and elongated sunlight; the perfect crescendo for any night out, bringing people together for the 4am sing along. Made heavier by its driving bassline and distortion, pounding kick drum takes you deeper into the mix, creating a vibe which is difficult to shake. Between elevating piano notes and vocal climaxes, it's one of DC Breaks' most resounding numbers to date. Channeling the appeal of earlier releases 'Faithless' and 'If this is Love', 'Never Stop' is a welcome addition to their discography.
Here's to another summer with a soundtrack provided by a duo whose output matches their musicianship. Building momentum at a dizzying speed, their yet again tuning a creative prowess which channel a dynamic made so digestible for a crossover audience.

The forthcoming album Different Breed from DC Breaks has been years in the making. Featuring a massive fifteen tracks and including some of their best loved singles from recent years, DC Breaks have delivered a massive feat that will ensure their place within the drum & bass anthology. From their song writing ability to their wide-ranging DJ support, the producers’ output has shone through in playlists across the dance music spectrum. From BBC Radio1’s Annie Mac, to 1xtra’s Mistajam and revered music icon Zane Lowe, they’ve received a plethora of A-list spins.
Having made multiple festival appearances across the last two years, including NASS, Arcadia Glastonbury, Beyond Wonderland and Prague’s infamous Let it Roll, they’ve become a staple on the DJ circuit. They’ve teased many album tracks out to huge crowds of drum & bass lovers, taking festival sets into vocal crescendos and sonic annihilation with their hard-hitting, no holds-barred anthems.
Including their recent collaboration with underground heavyweight Prolix for Infinity, the renowned VIP for DC Breaks’ classic Gambino, the jump-up vibes of Underground and the uplifting-melodies of Never Stop (which helped to sound track the Olympics, Formula 1 and Match of the Day) and Everybody, Different Breed also includes huge array of fresh cuts. Dipping their feet once again into the world of neuro, MC Nuklear joins them on Dead or Alive for an intimidating cut whilst Vendetta moulds their signature basslines into an even darker realm. Remember, Step Up, Organism and Hustle also jump into the fray, proving that DC Breaks discography still has its grittier side that snaps its jaws with every break.
On the other end of the spectrum sits records like Time to Kill ft. Diane Birch, who offers her climatic high-notes for a dynamic roller, as well as Moving On and No One Like You ft. Niara Scarlett, adding a soulful dash to an already impressive set of featuring artists. After a hiatus which has left many fans sitting on the edge of their subs, Calyx & Teebee are making a dramatic return. And with this record in tow, the scene is about to bow down yet again to two of their most skilled sonic crafters.
With the huge success of their All or Nothing LP laying just over the horizon, Calyx & Teebee are about to take the title place yet again and with the full throttle forces of pounding basslines and meticulously constructed mechanics. But what else could you expect from two revered veterans of the genre, whose joint muscle has telescoped the competition in comparison.
However, it's not just their duteous workmanship and full-throttle drive that makes their music so undeniably huge. In tracks like 'A Day That Never Comes' Larry Con's vocals lead you by the hand into all-out anarchy. Revving between each break, your picked up and dropped by verbal crescendos. Angry, yet innovative and impressively intricate, Calyx & Teebee have raised expectations even higher.
And then comes 'Snakes & Ladders', a minefield of drum patterns and wavering note arpeggios. A steppy riddim which completely envelops the sense, each segment explodes on impact. Sliced and diced by invasive samples, you're unable to resist; plunging you deep into the mix, the slowly building drop pushes you into a freefall of plucky subs and jittering percussion. With such an equally impactful flipside, this sets another precedent and one which the producers exceed with every release.

The return of Loadstar has been marked with heightened anticipation… But looking at their extensive history, there's no denying their heritage and status within the drum & bass genre. Following the success of their debut 'Future Perfect' album, as well as their monumental live shows and kicking off the RamLife compilation in spectacular fashion, the Loadstar legacy is about to hit another milestone.
Having also remixed the likes of Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Noisia, Breakage, Chase & Status and Wolfgang Gartner, Loadstar uphold regimented production standards. This is something which is clear throughout their discography. Whether it's for daytime radio airplay, or the murkiest corners of the globe, each veteran commands a musical scope which dwarfs many of their counterparts.
Your first reintroduction to Loadstar's vast repertoire is vocal roller 'Native'. Blending the track's more humanistic elements against the fire of rapid drums and the underlay of piano arpeggios, it exposes a softer composition style which is still vastly intricate. Still dropping on impact, led by peaking voice notes, the bassline begins to distort, demonstrating a darker underbelly. Yet again the duo masters of their craft; Xample and Lomax demonstrate their skyscraper standards which have withheld against the test of time.
On the flipside, the producers dive you head first through a chasm of pounding bass. A driving riddim which juxtaposes the A-side perfectly, 'Once Again' is snappy, unapologetic and a track which is set to ignite any festival with the movement of feet. It embodies Loadstar's Mr. Hyde – it screams the same pent up aggression as 'Warrior' and leaves behind just as much destruction.
A record to reaffirm their versatility, this marks a reunion which will send cyberspace and the musical realm into turmoil. Loadstar are back and in their wake stands two tracks as formidable as the artists' longstanding reputation.

The second instalment for seminal electronic music act Camo & Krooked’s remix series proves that more is to come from its groundbreaking selection of featuring artists. Following their critically acclaimed LP Mosaik on the Ram Records / BMG imprint, they’ve returned to allow a host of artists across the dance music spectrum to take their most precious work and build upon its original track skeletons. The records showcased throughout the full package demonstrate the Austrian duo’s unbridled creative process, showing an ability to tap into the same A&R repertoire which helped them build such an inspired record. And for their next set of reworks, Document One and Spectrasoul were handpicked to bring their own moniker sounds into Camo & Krooked’s solid engineering.
Serious contenders within the UK bass scene, Document one are a pair well known for their putting their own twist on renowned music releases. Having already worked for the likes of Moby, Professor Green and Connor Maynard, they go for a more heavyweight style with Good Times Bad Times. Moulding the instrumentals prevalent throughout its intro with jazzier undertones, they then drop the track with bass-weight distortion levels and rocking drum beats. On the flipside, you’re drawn into Spectrasoul’s dainty chord progressions and filtered percussion throughout their take on If I Could. The drum & bass stalwarts appeal to their core audience whilst still utilising the melodic, vocal overtures of Joe Killington. With drum breakdowns which give their adaption a weightier feel, it showcases Camo & Krooked’s commitment to diversify a project that set the standard for their legacy.
Alongside the explosive first run of their live show tour, debuting across Austria, Camo & Krooked are solidifying the success of their fourth studio album. Their remix LP will only emphasise the dedication they have for not just the success of Mosaik, but also their influence across the wider electronic scene. Tastemakers and fans alike have backed this influence since its release.

‘Divine Profits’ stands as the second album legendary producers Ed Rush and Audio have released as part of their Killbox project, an outfit which boasts orchestrating some of the most pivotal changes in the darkside drum & bass underworld. Debuting in 2017 and unleashing a sleuth of releases which have marked their place within the genre's chronologies, Killbox do what they do best from start to finish and that’s unload sounds which are not written for a commercial sphere. And that’s why they’ve gained such a cult following over the decades they’ve been active, amassing a fan base which has seen them still garner tastemaker support. Their experience shines through ‘Divine Profits’ and it’s an album to get strapped in for as you’re taken through each seismic record.
From the growling undercurrents of ‘Epicentre’ through to the brooding intensity of ‘Rodan’, with ‘Cypher Pattern’, ‘Mutiny’, ‘Beaker’ and ‘Nova’ marking in-between, the singles already showcased by Killbox prove ‘Divine Profits’ still presents the echelons of the underground. With more to come on the album, including the tech-defined selection ‘Dab Lab’, as well as the titanic feel and grooves of ‘Yard Stick’, it’s an eclectic mix of Killbox’s engineering that’s developed over their careers. Czech stalwart Forbidden Society also makes an appearance on the brooding minimalism of ‘Transistor’, meanwhile ‘Multiply’ and ‘Reverent’ add to the album’s chaos.
It’s a striking collection and one which presents another definitive album on Ram Records, an imprint that's been leading the charge for nearly thirty years.

Amongst a packed tour schedule which has seen him play stages at London’s Eastern Electrics Festival and mainstay clubs across key European cities, Skantia returns to Ram after the widespread support of his recent single ‘Lights’. With UKF hailing his music as some of the most coveted in DJ sets over the last month, two brand new tracks from Skantia are likely to whet listeners appetites. ‘UV Rays’ and ‘Allure’ follow the Skantia formula although from two different stand points; Skantia’s jagged bassline fluctuates between each note throughout ‘UV Rays’ giving a meaner reverse to the built-up snare placements cut through the crooning vocals of ‘Allure’. It’s another take on a contemporary trend although this time through a sound only Skantia can master.
Since signing exclusive to Ram, the Newcastle based producer has been amassing an audience, especially since being showcased across Andy C’s seminal XOYO series at the beginning of 2019. And with more music due to drop this year, he’s becoming a mainstay figure within the Ram roster.

Making his third outing on ProgRAM, MD is proving himself an integral part of the label’s output. After the ‘Vandal’ and ‘Crinimal’ EPs, the Data 3 member drops his latest EP, ‘Manga’.
Four tracks deep, the minimal criminal delves again into darker, techier waters. From the low-end step of the title track, the gnarled bass of ‘Terminal’ to the melodic, atmospheric soul of ‘Oh Boy,’ MD showcases styles that are uniquely his own. Also included is ‘Arrival VIP’, giving one of 2018’s standout releases an update.

A yearly tradition, the Ram Records annual is set to drop at the end of another massive year for the imprint. For nearly three decades the label has stood ahead of the game and this has been marked by an incredible back catalogue of music. The 2020 annual is just another example of this fact and it features a host of exclusives, from both signed artists and frequent Ram guests, who explore the sounds which have marked the last twelve months of its journey. With stand-out singles from the likes of Culture Shock, Skantia and more of the Ram Records roster, there’s also a plethora of brand-new music about to drop with the full package.
Russian project Razlom, comprising of producers Nouwa & Encode, alongside Task Horizon, Akov, Fascad and Aperio present a collection of new talent which debuts on the imprint for their forthcoming compilation LP. Then Need for Mirrors offers a rework of his esteemed track ‘Arp Tune’ in the form of a VIP, whilst Smooth returns to Ram Records once again with his delivery ‘My Life’. And that’s just the beginning; the album is jam packed full of exclusives, one of their biggest collections to date. It also signifies just how big 2020 is slated to be for the label, adding to an already decorated history.
