Chords has often been heralded as one of the most musically gifted artists on the Ram Records roster and having begun his journey via classical training as a child, it’s no surprise why his sounds are so technically impressive. Influenced by everything from soul to hip hop, his eclectic tastes shine through each one of his offerings, helping him to have a unique take on the 170bpm drum & bass genre.
Many listeners were concerned during his brief hiatus over the last few years; despite delivering tracks for Ram Records stellar compilation releases, his standalone releases became few and far between. But just like his music, Chords is multi-faceted. He’s an artist in the truest sense of the word and during his break from music making, he’d dedicated himself to the world of cinema. After receiving a prestigious award for his most recent short film, he decided to once again focus on music, signalling this next release on the prestigious Ram imprint.
‘Clarion’ is darker in tone, dropping into crunching LFO and weighty bass patterns. It’s a side of Chords’ which was previously unseen, although with a whole collection of records waiting to be released, you’re likely to see more of it in the coming months.
Chords is back and weightier than ever. For fans old and new, the anticipation for more music has exploded with this next release.

DELTA HEAVY ‘ONLY IN DREAMS’
After months of anticipation UK bass duo Delta Heavy finally drop their sophomore studio album ‘Only In Dreams’, out on worldwide release today via iconic imprint Ram Records.
The follow up to their seminal debut album ‘Paradise Lost’, ’Only In Dreams’ features collaborations with Zeds Dead, Everyone You Know, Muzzy, Modestep, KUURO alongside vocalists Jem Cooke, Starling and Rae Hall and further cements their status within the bass scene on both sides of the Atlantic and beyond.
It’s a work of maturity and bristling confidence from the London duo, one that should once again reap them a whirlwind of accolades from all corners of the bass-loving planet.
The needle drops on intro track ‘In Dreams’, an ambient interlude that interjects a surreal, dream-like soundscape with rumbling blasts of foreboding tension. It sets the scene for the entire record, as listeners are taken on journey through light and shade, from edgy underground depths to celestial melodic heights. Flexing and bending between DnB, trap, future bass and dubstep, the duo infuse every single track with layer after layer of originality, creativity and dynamism, lifting the music well beyond the norm. Tracks like ‘Exodus’ and the Middle Eastern-tinged Muzzy collab ‘Revenge’ thunder and prowl their way across the darkest of sound systems. Monstercat heavyweights KUURO bring their talents into play on the trap and DnB hybrid ‘Replicant’ while British dubstep and electronic act Modestep feature on ‘Here With Me’, a soaring and complex take on the future bass genre. ‘Lift You Up’, the Zeds Dead collaboration that only recently lit the online music media world on fire, gifts fans a prime example of Delta Heavy’s ability to stride firmly into the Stateside world of bass, as does the glitchy halftime stomp of ‘A.I.’ The album climaxes with ‘Show Me The Light’ and ‘Take Me Home’, featuring Starling and Jem Cooke respectively, two anthemic vocal tracks laced with as much emotion and beauty as they are with dance-floor drive and energy.
A thorough illustration of their diversity and flexibility within the bass genres, the album’s range will come as no surprise to fans of the duo. Delta Heavy, who have been producing together since 2008, have refused to be constrained by genre limitations, resulting in a plethora of celebrated productions including ‘Ghost’, ‘Get By’ and their massive debut album ‘Paradise Lost’, which spawned the 18 million+ streaming monster ‘White Flag’.
Supporting the release of ‘Only In Dreams’ is a huge run of tour dates that takes in venues from North America through the UK and Europe and down into Australia and New Zealand, with more dates still to be announced in a Phase 2 album tour announcement. For fans of the duo’s sound, 2019 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and involved in years. Sound In Noise
Shapes Pt.2
RAMM370
The success of Sound in Noise’s ‘Shapes EP’ on Ram Records saw the Estonian producer once again establish himself as a defining part of the roster’s new wave of artists, those who are bringing in a new era. With support from imperative industry figures such as BBC Radio 1 and US blogging behemoth Your EDM, the follow up has been hotly anticipated after the critical acclaim of its first edition. This November part two is dropping and with it comes four brand new tracks from the producer, the type of which redefine the Sound in Noise style and expose an even wider sonic language.
From the growling patches of static bass peddled throughout '13', through to the VIP treatment given to ‘Duppy Bass’, Sound In Noise comes with a host of fresh offerings on the Ram Records moniker. Sitting in between these cuts, ‘Space Cadet’ featuring Jon Hazel gives the EP more dancefloor-centred hooks whilst ‘Magicman’ with its guttural bassline and chiselled drum patches adds another darker undertow. They round off a project which alludes to why Sound in Noise has developed into a fan favourite within the Ram Records roster - following his exclusive signing and succession of high calibre releases on the imprint.

SyRan
Paradigm EP
RAMM362
____
Coming via the RAM demo inbox and with tracks currently getting the Andy C seal of approval - including in his Rampage 2019 set - you may not have heard of SyRan: but after their debut EP you’re definitely about to.
Not much is known about the duo, whose minimal online presence allows their music to do the talking for them. From the warped, stuttering low end of title track to the long drawn out bass and aggressive breaks of ‘Seen Savage’, the EP rounds off with a naughty VIP version of Ransome’s ‘No Laughter’.
‘Paradigm’ is the sound of two producers ready to break out from under the radar with support from the biggest label and DJ the scene has to offer. SyRan are ones to watch.

Deep in solitary lockdown, Hamilton has been crafting these next cuts with the meticulous precision. These two tracks present the perfect backdrop for his comeback, presenting him as a veteran artist who effortlessly combines the famed 90s vibe with contemporary production.
And after the ongoing success of his Schema EP, as well as the huge reception to his release 'Fire/Be There', this is a welcome return.
With pent up aggression and pounding breaks, 'Feel the Fury' rolls out first ominously. Cracking high hats and quick-fire percussion adds a layering that helps carry the record's forward motion. Alongside a bassline that coils, and then lashes out over a plunging drop, you're thrown between the snap, crack and whip of a hugely intricate composition. Hamilton is back… And he's here to re-educate you with his unfaltering skillset.
On the flipside, 'Track 8' is an innovative slice of drum & bass which is both fun and drivingly relentless. Bouncing subs, coupled by distorted synths take you through elevated note patterns of gradually building, musical imagery. It's a steppy riddim, one which doesn't completely crash on impact but instead is creeping in its intensity. It's Hamilton at his most diverse, yet again proving the versatility in his craftwork.
With another stunning delivery from Hamilton, 2015 is setting a precedent. One which the producer is sure to ride out into the future.

Hamilton's 'Soundboy' was one of the stand out tracks featured on Andy C's 'Nightlife 5' compilation, while the VIP version tore apart clubs from London to Lisbon. Meanwhile last year's 'Brainstorm' / 'Echoes' set Hamilton apart as one of the hottest producers the drum & bass scene has to offer. It's no surprise then that this, his latest single for Ram Records, contains an undeniably epic pair of tracks that are filled with all the hallmarks you'd expect from a producer of Hamilton's calibre.
'Deep In My Heart' leads the way, infused with twinkling melodies, infectious vocal samples and euphoric build ups that will make you fall in love with Hamilton's music. Romance will be the last thing on your mind though when the warping bassline sucks you into another world. Before long your body will respond to the rolling beats and your heart will direct your feet straight to the dance floor.

2014 stands as a defining moment for the RAM Records imprint. Not only did it announce the pivotal signing of artists like Audio, Teddy Killerz and Bensley but they also oversaw the birth of compilation series RAMLife hosted by Loadstar. Even in its first form, it contained nearly every essential release the last twelve months had to offer.
But this year, RAMLife is taking you into deeper and murkier dimensions. Having already flexed his production muscle on the ricocheting, four-track 'Nil by Mouth' EP, as well as his first visual debut in the music video for 'Heads Up', it's now time for Audio to cut open and expose his musical psyche.
Including some of the most aggressive, technically adept and prominent artists the genre has to offer, including Bad Company, Optiv & BTK and Noisia to name a few, no stone goes unturned for the album's entirety. Audio also throws bass-fuelled bullets in the form of exclusives, with explosive VIPs that have yet to be released.
But what can you expect from the man who garners such an explosive reputation across the club circuit? Audio brings his live personality into the whole album and accompanying mix; one that doesn't let you pause for breath. They're a collection of tracks that'll leave an atomic bomb sized impression inside the community, which further solidifies his reputation as an ever- growing, unstoppable goliath.

Aperio - Grey To Blue - 25 August
Subscribe for more - http://po.st/SubscribeRamYT
Become a fan of Aperio: https://www.facebook.com/aperiomusic/
The ascent of Aperio has been streamlined by the type of music he’s delivered to the sister-label of Ram Records, Program. A hotly tipped newcomer, the producer was picked up by one of the most successful underground imprints after his name began building momentum within the world of drum & bass. His double-sided single forthcoming on Program alongside featuring artists Monrroe and Jorgie will act as another stepping stone for both his career the integral moments of his blossoming career. And having moved from strength to strength, with one meticulously fashioned record after the other, Aperio has made himself known throughout the 174bpm circuit - and for good reason.
First from the producer comes ‘Affections’ alongside likeminded producer Monroe. Together they lay the foundations of a liquid roller which begins to build gradually on careful strung melodies and pitching synth patterns. The track cascades following a keyed drop, before each meandering break takes you through its motions. ‘Affections’ demonstrates the full depth of both artist’s strict engineering, whilst also proving that they’re able to hold their own against the other formidable parts of Program’s back catalogue.
On the flipside, Jorgie offers up her harmonic vocals for ‘Grey to Blue’ alongside Aperio’s scuttling percussion and flowing piano notes. ‘Grey to Blue’ carries through the same vibe as its forerunner but brings the main focus onto its more humanistic elements. Orchestrating visions of summer nights and falling sunsets, Aperio opens up a musical landscape which encompasses you from the track’s start to finish. It presents another end of Program’s discography – the type with a softer palette and one Aperio manages to manipulate effortlessly.
So once again, it’s time to get with the Program – continuing to take you across drum & basses furthest corners.

Follow Teddy Killerz on Twitter: https://twitter.com/TeddyKillerz
Following the success of their debut ‘Nightmare Street’ LP on the twenty-five year strong Ram Records imprint, Teddy Killerz continue their enviable work rate with another cut-throat single. The Russian-Ukrainian trio have become one of the most remarkable acts to descend from their drum & bass microcosm, having worked hard to produce a solid standard of engineering. This is clear throughout every one of their records, from their beginning’s on Ram’s underground sister-label Program, to their heavyweight album which saw them stretch across a huge spectrum of versatility.
However, since their intimidating release at the start of this year and their collaboration with burgeoning newcomer Signal, as well as pivotal set at 174bpm Mecca Let it Roll, they’ve taken their music in a fresh direction. Forthcoming track ‘New Jam’ is a testament to this, swapping their tear out vision for a more subdued, old-school vibe, and one which filters through the mix yet still manages to pack a kick with every drum break. Featuring ragga-esque vocals, crackling percussion and distorted synth stabs, the intro nods to a change for Teddy Killerz. It demonstrates that they’re not a one-dimensional act, dropping deep into a bassline of subterranean levels. The layering leaves you trapped between crazily reverberating bass and finally you’re left to be enveloped in Teddy Killerz new wave of engineering; a journey which diversifies the Ram Records discography.
Teddy Killerz onslaught remains as intimidating as ever, yet this time they’ve decided to cause sonic damage through different means. They still provide the jagged edge to Ram Records already impressive roster, but they also prove the label’s A&R skill. The range Teddy Killerz have at their disposal, nurtured in the drum & bass hotbed of its furthest reaches, has reached yet another intensity.
