Almost one year in the making, Bulgaria’s outstanding techno talent lands his return to Drumcode with a four-track EP.

Timmo (aka Valeri Ivanov) doesn’t do things in half measures. Since the release of his excellent ‘System’ EP last year and ‘Muzik’, his inclusion on A-Sides Vol.6, he’s committed himself to crafting, refining and polishing a quartet of cuts inspired by the cosmic realms beyond planet earth. Titled ‘Meteorite’, its release marks 10 years since he first began producing and stakes its claim as a resounding career highlight with tracks already highlighting gigs for Adam Beyer at Tobacco Dock, Awakenings, Future Kappa Festival and Junction 2.

Beginning with the title track, the streamlined work throbs with a searing synthetic pulse. ‘Black Moon’ sees the EP land its first blow, kicking with a mixture of undulating synths and understated hoovers. ‘Spacetime’ stays true to its name delivering intergalactic techno vibes. ‘Cosmos’ concludes the work, taking us into extra-terrestrial dancefloor territory, with a barrage of trippy synth work and a melodic underbelly the makes the track both beautiful and heavy-hitting in equal measure. .

Drumcode is more than a label, it’s a movement. Founded by Adam Beyer, it stands as the highest selling and most influential imprint in techno, has spawned a radio show listened to by millions each week, and a global events brand hosting festivals and events throughout Europe, North and South America. Adam Beyer’s unwavering commitment to quality, combined with a future-focused ethos are the cornerstone of the brand’s success. His definition of techno is open-minded and expansive, while resolutely refusing to compromise on the smallest detail with every aspect of Drumcode’s output.

Adam Beyer & Bart Skils - Your Mind, Released 2018-06-18, Drumcode, DC191

One of the biggest tracks of 2018 is finally set for an official release.

Anyone who has followed the DJ sets of Adam Beyer or Dutch ally Bart Skils, would be familiar with the stirring vocal and thundering impact of ‘Your Mind’. While the track begun as a tool, the reactions when tested out were so momentous they decided to turn it into a full track. Together they teamed up to add more percussion, snares and a rolling acid line to complete its transformation. The result? One of 2018’s most powerful techno weapons highlighting Time Warp, Awakenings and Ultra Music Festival, to name just a few.

Frenchman POPOF continues his decorated career with a debut release on Truesoul.

POPOF is an artist whose career has been defined by twists and turns. From delicately beautiful minimal productions like ‘Serenity’ on his own Form Music imprint, to peak-time house cuts on Hot Creations and his remixes of The Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode, his music is as unpredictable as it is impressive.

Reinforcing the breadth of his output, he lands on Truesoul with a gritty three-track work, after impressing Adam Beyer with recent his ‘Confusion’ EP on MOOD Records, which featured on the Truesoul head’s celebrated Amnesia Terrace set at Cocoon Ibiza last year. ‘Vaporizer’ kicks off the EP in energetic fashion, driven by an electro-laced bassline that builds towards a thrilling crescendo. The title track ‘Enforced’ keeps up the intensity with a raw underbelly of menacing drums, acid and dizzying synth effects. ‘Placid Séquences’ sees techno, acid and electro fused together for maximum effect, rounding out the Frenchman’s high-octane contribution to the Truesoul catalogue. .

Hamilton - Track 8

Deep in solitary lockdown, Hamilton has been crafting these next cuts with the meticulous precision. These two tracks present the perfect backdrop for his comeback, presenting him as a veteran artist who effortlessly combines the famed 90s vibe with contemporary production.

And after the ongoing success of his Schema EP, as well as the huge reception to his release 'Fire/Be There', this is a welcome return.

With pent up aggression and pounding breaks, 'Feel the Fury' rolls out first ominously. Cracking high hats and quick-fire percussion adds a layering that helps carry the record's forward motion. Alongside a bassline that coils, and then lashes out over a plunging drop, you're thrown between the snap, crack and whip of a hugely intricate composition. Hamilton is back… And he's here to re-educate you with his unfaltering skillset.

On the flipside, 'Track 8' is an innovative slice of drum & bass which is both fun and drivingly relentless. Bouncing subs, coupled by distorted synths take you through elevated note patterns of gradually building, musical imagery. It's a steppy riddim, one which doesn't completely crash on impact but instead is creeping in its intensity. It's Hamilton at his most diverse, yet again proving the versatility in his craftwork.

With another stunning delivery from Hamilton, 2015 is setting a precedent. One which the producer is sure to ride out into the future.
