OLLIE MACFARLANE ( http://soundcloud.com/olliemacfarlane )
Ollie Macfarlane started producing music when he was about 14, recording tracks and messing around with samples with various bands that never really made it anywhere. Now 20, Ollie has a few years' experience under his belt, producing tracks in his bedroom whilst studying for a degree in Physics at university. Moving to Bristol, UK has affected his sound greatly, with its rich sonic history and exciting nightlife; influences from the House and Drum & Bass scenes can often be heard in his music. Future Garage is an exciting new twist on an old genre which caught Ollie's attention, and he started experimenting with beats not dissimilar from Burial or Synkro, two of his favourite artists. This sound fused with Dubstep and Trance influences to create a sound which he likes to call Bristol Garage.

SLACKER (http://www.myspace.com/slackershem)
As a DJ and producer Shem McCauley AKA Slacker continues to be on the cutting edge, with a reach far beyond most of his contemporaries, a history spanning numerous musical genres and a diverse checklist of fans throughout the business.
With a career spanning nearly two decades, it is little wonder that Slacker is usually one step ahead of the game; this is more apparent than ever since the introduction of Ableton Live into the marketplace has finally given him the technology to produce the live show he has always wanted. With a back catalogue boasting over 50 original tracks, and in excess of 100 remixes under his various guises as Streets Ahead, Nation 12, Ramp, Live It!, Head Honcho and Slacker, Shem has been busy developing a new "laptop live" show which will enable him to make every performance unique, remixing live any element of each track as he chooses and giving him the ability to incorporate the many quirky samples and secret riffs that up until now have been locked away in Slacker towers. Throw in a frenzy of scratching and effects from Shem on the CDJ and you have a heady brew indeed.
A DJ for over 16 years, the words "been there, done that!" spring to mind. The world map on his website pinpointing the multitude of cities he has played testifies to his global popularity. Originally as DJ Streets Ahead, Shem was one of the pioneers of the UK Hip Hop scratch scene, playing alongside the likes of Tim Westwood and picking up production and remix credits beside Roxanne Shante and Public Enemy. As a student in Brighton, England he established various sound systems alongside fellow South Coast boys Norman Cook and Carl Cox. Production success followed first as Nation 12 with "Listen to the Drummer", and then after setting up stall with musician and producer Simon Rogers as Ramp, with the singles "Rock the Discotek" and "Stomp". Both became international club classics.
Looking to establish himself further, Shem created a hybrid of his own funk roots with more contemporary house sounds under the moniker of Slacker. The first Slacker single, "Feel Space", a track that sounds as fresh today as when it was made, became an instant club hit. Shem's third single "Scared" re-wrote the rule book on progressive house, a haunting anthem with enough funk to rock any dance floor. A record deal with XL followed and "Scared" along with follow-up single "Your Face" went top 40 in the UK and achieved major international success.
On the crest of this wave, Slacker established a live show and heavy touring alongside label mates The Prodigy ensued. It was while touring that Shem rediscovered his love of Djing, and in 1998 he hit the road properly again. He has been criss-crossing the globe ever since. In this time he has enjoyed residencies at Groovejet in Miami, Orbit in Lima, Peru, Slinky in Bournemouth and Fierce in Hong Kong, earnings platinum helpings of air miles throughout the world, especially across the U.S and Asia.
During this period Shem successfully juggled his travelling with further productions, ably assisted by studio partner Simon Rogers. A slew of remixes, such as Junkie XL, Trancesetters, Breeder and Bedrock - many still viewed as classics today - made the Slacker sound the most respected in the business. "Essential New Tunes", dance chart Number Ones and features on top compilations became the norm. Eager to develop their release schedule, the decision was taken to launch Slacker's own label, Jukebox in the Sky, and the singles have come thick and fast. Alongside their Northern Exposure classic, Head Honcho's "Walls of Jericho", came Slacker's "Looky Thing", played by a diverse selection of DJs from Seb to Jules to Seaman to Ivan Smagghe (of Black Strobe). Head Honcho's "Medicine" is still being hammered by DJs, most consistently Sasha, a year after its release. The decision to concentrate on furthering the label has paid huge rewards, setting the imprint up as one of the strongest of its genre and enjoying regular licenses from the likes of Global Underground, Bugged Out! and Ministry of Sound.
The label continues to go from strength to strength with numerous Slacker original productions ready for release in the coming months, in conjunction with the recent launch of the label's comprehensive website and webshop. Slacker's next single, "Best Boyfriend", will be out mid-November, packaged with remixes by The Scumfrog and Steiger. Currently Shem is back on the road and covering the globe with more than ever to offer, not only as a DJ but now also performing one of the most exciting and revolutionary laptop live shows on the market. Slacker? Far from it!
THOM YORKE ( www.myspace.com/thomyorkemusic )
Thomas Edward Yorke (born 7 October, 1968 in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England) is best known as the lead singer of the English alternative rock band Radiohead. He has also recorded as a solo musician. His debut album, The Eraser, debuted July 10th 2006 in the UK and July 11th in the US. Two singles were released from the album, "Harrowdown Hill" and "Analyse".
Yorke formed Atoms for Peace, who toured in 2010 performing the entirety of The Eraser. The rock 'supergroup' features Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker, and percussionist Mauro Refosco.
The song "Black Swan" was used as the end theme to the 2006 film adaptation of Philip K. Dick's novel A Scanner Darkly and was also a successful hit on American alternative radio in the summer of 2006. "Analyse" was also used on the end credits of the film The Prestige. 2006 also saw the release of a Japan-only EP entitled Spitting Feathers, which collected together the five b-sides from the "Analyze" and "Harrowdown Hill" singles.
A collection of remixes from The Eraser from such electronic luminaries as Burial, Four Tet, Modeselektor, Various Production and Surgeon were released as MP3 files initially in 2007, followed by a series of limited 12" in 2008. These were eventually released on CD as The Eraser Rmxs album.
He mainly plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar and piano, but has also played drums and bass guitar (notably during the Kid A and Amnesiac Radiohead sessions). He has one brother, Andy, of the band the unbelievable truth. Yorke currently lives in central Oxford with his partner, Rachel Owen, a printmaker who holds a doctorate in art history, and their two children, Noah, born in 2001 (to whom the Radiohead album Amnesiac was dedicated) and Agnes, born 2004 (to whom Yorke dedicated The Eraser).
FOUR TET ( www.fourtet.net/ )
Four Tet is the name used by Kieran Hebden (born 1980 in Putney, London, UK)
Hebden's solo work typically utilises samples lifted from various sources including hip-hop, electronica, techno, jazz, and folk mixed with his own guitar .
PIETER NOOTEN ( www.pieternooten.com/ )
Pieter Nooten's musical career starts as early as the late 70s. Starting out as the drummer in a local symphonic rock band, Nooten quickly changes to bass guitar and later keyboards, playing in different bands all over the place.
At the height of house squatting culture and New Wave, Nooten meets
Anka Wolbert and Ronny Moorings who just formed Xymox together. During the mid-eighties Xymox records two highly acclaimed albums on 4AD.
Nooten teams up with Michael Brook to record Sleeps with the fishes, also released on 4AD.This Osoundtrack to heaven (Melody Maker) would become Nooten's highly acclaimed masterpiece and Omaintains a cult status up until this day (amazon.com).
In 1989 Xymox signs to PolyGram N.Y. and release their third album, "Twist of Shadows". By 1990, in spite of the band's success, Nooten decides to leave Xymox due to growing internal musical differences. Whilest Xymox clearly wants to stick to their 80's roots, Nooten starts to explore new musical directions. The new, young dance culture intrigues him and a post as in-house producer at the famous One4Two studio's in Amsterdam is readily undertaken.
During the first half of the nineties Nooten produces countless dance 12inches and ambient orientated music for labels and projects(Hypercycle/First Contact/Ultimate Dream Mix), some of which reach the national record charts.
By 1995 Nooten moves back over to London and teams up with Anka again who has by now also left Xymox (for similar reasons).
Nooten has become somewhat tired with the slowly more and more morose dance music. He signs a publishing deal with Momentum (London) and it looks their second cooperation proves to be quite succesfull again. Anka and Pieter sign to EMI (NYC) under the name Vaselyn.
However, due to record company internal re-organizations, the Vaselyn project in London gets unexpectedly and suddenly cut short. Anka and Nooten decided to take the material of Vaselyn with them knowing that some day, this material will get its release.
Around 2004 Anka and Pieter start producing Sophie Zeyl's debut album Two Ways of Running. When recordings are finished in 2005, Pieter starts producing and remixing the material for OURSPACE. Nooten wants nothing more then writing and releasing the music he always kept close at heart.
³Pieter Nooten¹s "Sleeps With The Fishes" is adept at taking what should be morose music and converts it into something resplendent.
And it maintains that sad, beautiful sensation throughout its length. Not too many albums have such a perfectly-realized mood and atmosphere, one that draws you into its haunting world and stays with you long after the last song ends. But"Sleeps With The Fishes" is just such an album.
And though some of its content delves into the Goth and ambient genres, it easily avoids the former's self-indulgent melodramatics and the latter's vacuousness. (Opus.com)
It's hard to imagine this collaboration between Pieter Nooten (from Xymox) and ambient, experimental guitarist Michael Brook working any better So Sleeps With the Fishe's is quite dark, but it's equally beautiful and uplifting in the same instance. Nooten and Brook are restrained in the creation of their moody aesthetic, but the songs are a delight from start to finish. It's amazing that material that's so calmly paced and atmospheric is so enjoyable.
Sleeps With the Fishes could not be a more perfect dark
ambient, experimental album. It's essential listening for fans of 4AD,
ambient music, minimalism, experimental electronic music, and morose themes alike. This album is an overlooked masterpiece.

MICHAEL BROOK ( michaelbrookmusic.com/ )
Michael Brook (born 1951 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian guitarist, inventor, producer, and film music composer. He plays in many genres, including rock, electronica, world music, minimalism and film scores.
He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1996 for his production work and as a co-artist on Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's album Night Song.[1] Another notable collaboration was Sleeps with the Fishes with Clan Of Xymox member Pieter Nooten (4AD, 1987).
He toured as a member of the Sylvian and Fripp tour group, with the final concert at the Royal Albert Hall in December 1994 documented on the album Damage: Live. He also opened the concerts with a solo set, featuring the Infinite Guitar with effects and sequencer backing. In 1998, he produced the album "Volcán: Tributo a José José", a tribute album to singer Jose Jose. In 2006, the solo album RockPaperScissors was released, with an ambient remix version following in 2007. Brook toured small venues in Canada and the United States in late January/early February, 2007.
TELEFON TEL AVIV ( http://www.myspace.com/telefontelaviv )
Telefon Tel Aviv is a music collective based in Chicago, IL started by Josh Eustis and the late Charlie Cooper of New Orleans, Louisiana. The two originally met in high school, but did not begin working on music together until after university studies. Since 1999 Josh and Charlie had been working to cultivate their sound, based largely in electronic music, but that also showed flourishes of classical, vintage soul, ambient drone, and noise, among other things. The group continues as a mostly solo project of Josh Eustis after Charlie Cooper's death in January 2009.
In early 2000, the duo collaborated with Danny Lohner, Trent Reznor, and Alan Moulder on several remixes for Nine Inch Nails's then-to-be-released remix EP, Things Falling Apart. Shortly thereafter, Telefon Tel Aviv resumed work on their debut LP, Fahrenheit Fair Enough, for Chicago's Hefty Records, while at the same time completing the original score for the film Newport South. In 2002, the duo paired with L'Altra's Lindsay Anderson to release an EP featuring the single, Sound In A Dark Room. Work on the sophomore LP, Map of What Is Effortless, was completed in summer of 2003. On May 15th of 2007, a retrospective of their remix work for other artists was released on Hefty Records. Work on their third LP had been ongoing since late 2006 and wrapped up with the album Immolate Yourself's release on January 20th, 2009.
Over the past few years, together and separately, the duo completed production work for many other artists, including Marc Hellner/Pulseprogramming, L'Altra, The Album Leaf, Apparat, Belong, The Race, and others. They built a studio in Chicago to work on all of their projects.
Charlie Cooper passed away on Thursday 22nd January 2009, after taking an accidental overdose of sleeping pills. Josh Eustis later posted a confirmation on the band's Myspace page and the Telefon Tel Aviv website still shows an epitaph for Cooper. Josh continues to play Telefon Tel Aviv songs live as a duo with close friend Fredo Nogueira, but has said that the future of the band as regards recording new material remains uncertain.

VITAL ( http://soundcloud.com/musikmaker19 )
Vital is Jeffrey Haviland from Dallas,US and this is what he thinks about music:
'Music is like nothing else I've ever experienced in it's ability to express emotions that our modern language has no words for. Based on this perception, I have developed a lifelong passion for sound and the way it can communicate to people from all walks of life. Music truly is my favorite gift to give as it can be an endless beacon of understanding and happiness, even when no one else can understand the way we feel.
Many different genres define my passion for sound, so feel free to send me your track or mix and I'll definitely check it out.
I really appreciate hearing what people think of sounds I create and how it affects them, so please feel free to comment away, add me as a friend or drop a line. I've always got time in my life to discuss music with those who are willing to listen.
Many thanks for taking a second to read, I hope you enjoy!'

and this is what he says about himself :
'Im a 33 yr old audiophile from Dallas, TX. I love all kinds of music, but have been in electronic music my whole life. I love to explore all kinds of sonic landscapes and spaces. I love music more than anything, it is the great conveyor of emotion.
I started this soundcloud to share my music with people in hopes that they could enjoy some of my expression. I have been working in the 140 bpm dub tech type stuff as well as good house music. Im kinda all over the board right now because I just like to keep different sounds in my headspace.

HOW TO DRESS WELL ( howtodresswell.blogspot.com/ )
How to Dress Well is the alias of Tom Krell, creator of narcotized, lo-fi R&B. In October 2009, Krell started posting batches of his clouded tunes to his blog. They're marked by his high voice; piercing and fragile like the rest of his music. Late 2010, his debut album Love Remains was released via Lefse/Tri Angle Records. On July 12, he will release an EP titled Just Once via Love Letters Ink comprised of 4 orchestral versions of HTDW tracks - a one-time-only approach to HTDW's sound.

RADIOHEAD (http://radiohead.com/)
are an English alternative rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The band is composed of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, beats), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboard, other instruments), Ed O'Brien (guitar, backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass guitar) and Phil Selway (drums, percussion).
Radiohead released their first single, "Creep," in 1992. The song was initially unsuccessful, but it became a worldwide hit several months after the release of their debut album, Pablo Honey (1993). Radiohead's popularity rose in the United Kingdom with the release of their second album, The Bends (1995). The band's textured guitar parts and Yorke's falsetto singing were warmly received by critics and fans. Radiohead's third album, OK Computer (1997), propelled them to greater international fame. Featuring an expansive sound and themes of modern alienation, OK Computer has often been acclaimed as a landmark record of the 1990s.
Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001) marked a change in the band's musical style. Radiohead incorporated experimental electronic music, Krautrock, post-punk and jazz influences into their songs, dividing fans and critics, but they remained popular. Hail to the Thief (2003), a mix of guitar-driven rock, electronics and lyrics inspired by headlines, was the band's final album for their major record label, EMI. Radiohead independently released their seventh album, In Rainbows (2007), originally as a digital download for which each customer could set their own price, later in stores, to critical and chart success. Radiohead have sold approximately 30 million albums as of 2008
HENRY SAIZ ( http://www.henrysaiz.com/ )
Producer and DJ born in Madrid. He's been involved with music since very young, playing in several bands that offered a tribute to very different styles like black metal or pop. He showed a passion for synthesizers since he was a child, but it is in 1999 when electronic music captures him in an irreversible way, and he starts his fulltime dedication to music production. Since then, he has been working with several artists and bands linked to the vanguard, delivering many projects. While studying Sound Engineering he contacts Logicalnoise Records, where he finds a philosophy similar to his own and a flexible label that cares for quality proposals. Nowadays, he combines his work for advertising and documentary with electronic music and live performances.
Always open-minded to up and coming new styles and very fond of artistic vanguard, he delivers productions and sets that stand out for it's eclecticism and intensity, always trying to stimulate the audience.
Even before the launch of his first solo vinyl, the prestigious British label Global Underground spots Henry Saiz and asks him to remix the work from the German producer Phonique for a new vinyl that is about to be released.
His fist vinyl, "Mamut Ep", released by Logicalnoise, is a really elegant and sophisticated piece that illustrates very well Henry's electronic music concept: hypnotic and powerful vibes to travel in the dance floor.
