2014 has been quite a blast for all the NeurofunkGrid crew, seeing our first ever Enter The Grid event taking place in February, a bunch of free releases from amazing talents, loads of meeting with some some of the nicest people of the scene (Billain, Neonlight, Akov, Rawtekk, Optiv & BTK ...), a trip to Czech Republic with the Kosen team and lots and lots of gigs!

Concussion Records are back with their second release, CNCSN002, on which the Ukrainian master Nickbee drops Another Dimension and Splitting Hairs.

Nickbee is truly a legend in his own time, and an artist and producer who has won acclaim from right across the drum & bass world. Starting out at the early age of 15, releases on Horizons Music, Dispatch Recordings and Close 2 Death earned him the praise of Bad Company, Noisia and Friction amongst many, many more. Now, he is moving on with a new release on Concussion, a label who previously hit you with music from Kantyze and Bowsar in the form of Prelude to Schism and Thanos. Now, make sure you are ready for Another Dimension and Splitting Hairs.

The former shakes its way into life around some stuttering percussion, whilst the background is filled in with some chilling, eerie atmospherics. Nick slowly builds things up in his trademark intense fashion, with chiming keys counterbalancing the morphing, transforming bassline. Next up is the drums, which drop in to form the backbone of the tune. The bass sits forward, going absolutely crazy whilst still being restrained. Talk about a quiet storm, Nick proves once again that he can do it all with Another Dimension. Transport yourself.

This series represents the best of the hybrid forms of DnB - always offering fresh and cutting takes on the DnB sound through a variety of angles. This pack brings a whopping 8 tracks from some of the sickest DnB sculptors out there, with ALLIED finally welcomed as a guest into the Berlin Technoid fold through his delivery of a track that manages to be both extremely Techy and with lushious Dub-Techno elements that seem pretty suited to the German context. MACHINECODE's contribution here is one of the most relentless tracks they've put out to date, with a strobing sub line that reminds of elements of their recent track 'Gatling' but sped up and much more intense. DEAN RODELL is on form here, with his signature brand of atmospheric pads melting their path through thick layers of metallic destruction; word is that we'll be seeing a lot more in the way of DR productions in the future - we can't wait! THE SECT and CURRENT VALUE also deliver some real sickness here, both delivering tracks that are designed to both seduce and destroy the rave.
