Following six studio albums of funk-driven loungecore, Hospital Records’ head honcho London Elektricity embarks on the boldest musical adventure of his 30-year career with his seventh long-player ‘Building Better Worlds’.
It began in a Forest Hill cafe in 2017 where London Elektricity adoringly browsed through a series of Benjamin Beech’s photography of perfectly untouched, derelict buildings and towns in Japan, Taiwan and China. “Many of the images show what has been, what could have been and what will be. The duality of beauty and melancholia within appealed to me immensely.” Each track was married to a photo, to join the sights to sounds from each of his tales of ‘Building Better Worlds.’
Leading the voyage is the orchestral masterpiece ‘Final View From The Rooftops’, that’s been 13 years in the making and is the “most unusual piece of D+B” [he’s] ever made”, featuring the incredible operatic talent of Cydnei B. ‘Build A Better World’ is a smooth drum & bass sonnet with the vocals of Hospital family favourite Emer Dineen. “The beauty of this song lies in its simplicity, but also its duality. I'll leave you to work out what the lyrics are really about… They are some of the darkest lyrics I've come across in years.”
Another special moment is the feature of London Elektricity’s youngest son, The Secretary-General. The talented nine-year-old takes no ‘Time To Think’ as he flawlessly flows through Inja’s lyrics with the ever-vibrant MC following suit, bringing the track full-circle across generations.
London Elektricity is the mastermind behind classic Hospital albums such as ‘Pull The Plug’, ‘Syncopated City’, ‘Are We There Yet?’, and ‘Yikes’. His latest body of work delves into uncharted depths for a very personal and expressive collection of tracks where drum & bass and live instrumentation meet. London Elektricity can be found showcasing this latest chapter with tours in China, Japan, the UK and Europe throughout 2019.
‘Building Better Worlds’ is available as a special limited edition, 36-page lyric-book complete with an in-depth narrative for each track and a 3 x clear vinyl, on sale exclusively from the Hospital Shop.
Special thanks to: Vonné, Inja & The Secretary-General!

Fred V & Grafix bring a breath of fresh air with their long-awaited second album ‘Oxygen’. The 15-track venture strips away any uniformity, opening up into dreamy, synthesized waves of drum & bass, elements of elegant electro-pop, down-tempo beats, unsuspecting instrumentation and everything in between.
Their progression is clear from the off, the gorgeous ‘Ignite’ details infectious guitar and heartfelt harmonies from Fred V himself and their newest top-line finding, Amy J Pryce. She also appears on vocal led tracks ‘Altitude’ and ‘Electrify’ that push the pair even further into songwriter territory. They’ve spent months working with close friend Tudor Davies - whose vocal leads on romantic slow-mover ‘One Of A Kind’ - to create expressive, honest lyrics and enticing melodies throughout the LP.
Fred V & Grafix’s soundtrack style stands up tall in ‘Nearly There’ and ‘Our Story’ adding a surprise collaboration with Bloc Party front-man Kele to the mix. Both tracks encapsulate the epic, ‘hands in the air’ euphoria that Fred V & Grafix deliver to devoted crowds worldwide. Their drum & bass dancefloor roots remain strong with tracks ‘Stay Here’ and ‘Together We’re Lost’ picking up the pace.
In the debut album 'Recognise' we got a taste for their skills as live musicians. In take two we get even more from Grafix guitars, to drums, keys and Fred V’s own vocals, every element is faultlessly infused with title track ‘Oxygen’ as the perfect example.

Buy Ownglow's new "Inside The Silence EP" here: https://Ownglow.lnk.to/InsideTheSilenceyb
Following his debut solo release on the esteemed Hospital Records is Ownglow’s equally impressive and progressive ‘Inside The Silence’ EP. Four tracks deliver a personal portrayal of his transatlantic living with collaborations from recent riser Mitekiss, Oxfordshire’s electro duo Disco’s Over and vocalists Elle Vee and Courtney Odom.
‘Breathe’ matches up the methods of multi-genre movers Disco’s Over and the warm, natural vocals of Elle Vee, who brings a romantic essence with her pitch-perfect topline. A second collaborative effort with the illusive Mitekiss makes a trail down to deeper D+B levels in ‘Take Me’.
Ownglow’s hometown of Arizona is clearly a pool of talent with resident Courtney Odom bringing sultry vocals to the jazzy waves of ‘Mercy’. Finally, ‘Glo Mello Flo’ pairs playful hip-hop influences with a D+B tempo for a soulful summer soother.
Dive even further into the mind of 20-year old Ownglow with his self-created artwork. An old photograph with a modern twist ties to the EP’s ethos of different perspectives and ideas coming together in a minimalist nature.
“Why if there is love, there are no words, inside the silence,” - that quote has stuck with me and I think it’s a fitting description for what this EP is - there would be no music without silence, and inside of that silence is something yearning to be heard.” - Ownglow

Danny Byrd is back in 2018!
After a six-year hiatus, everyone’s favourite Hospital compilation returns. Witness the sickness, this is drum & bass, this is 'Sick Music 2018'.
With 24 brand new tracks, the series that brought the world early stories of Netsky, Wilkinson, Sigma and Fred V & Grafix is back. The heritage of this series speaks volumes, and 'Sick Music 2018' takes the quality to a whole new level. Filled to the brim with dangerous dubplates this full spectrum injection is a must have for each and every D+B devotee.
Hospital's leading dancefloor duke Danny Byrd has taken things straight back to ’99 with ‘Devil’s Drop’. Firing on all cylinders he's keeping it raw, rolling and funky. In a similarly devilish fashion we have 'Bootstrap Bill’ finally unleashed by the enigmatic Unglued. Unashamedly destructive and executed with precision, this track is more dangerous than Donald Trump drunk on Twitter.
In a perfect fusion of Hospital and Med School, we see Fred V & Grafix's 'Hurricanes (Wild Love)' re-worked with pristine precision by everyone’s favourite prodigy Keeno. Keeping the vibe level at eleven, Hugh Hardie's delivered the gorgeous ‘Nightingale’, both seductively simple and oozing with elegance.
‘Just One Second’ by London Elektricity gets its first re-work since the late Apex’s famous remix on the very first Sick Music. The beautiful track see’s a sterling contemporary edit and is a testament to Mitekiss’ talent.
This album also brings the first solo single from the biggest name in D+B right now, Kings Of The Rollers. Fiercely pushing into new territory ‘Burnt Ends’ has been causing carnage on the dancefloor, getting double wheel-ups from across the globe.
Joining this rich tapestry of exemplary D+B are both veteran composers and new blood alike including: Klute, Whiney, Urbandawn, Reso, Logistics, John B, and of course Hospital Records' commander-in-chief London Elektricity.
The release will be available across all formats but its grandest form will take that off the highly limited box set. Featuring a CD, the 4x12” plates, some box set only stickers and an exclusive T-shirt. One for the collectors, this is not a release to be overlooked.

Teaming up for their very first musical collaboration, two of Hospital Records’ pinnacle figures Grafix and Degs come together on ‘Empty Bottles’ to kickstart the label’s 25th year. With Grafix’s solo story continuing to flourish with his heavyweight releases ‘Stutter’, ‘Onyx (feat. Chrissie Huntley)’, and ‘Parallel’ with Metrik in 2020, and Degs’ persistent creative output seeing him rise to the top following his debut album “Letters From Ndegwa’, this sonic infusion is one not to be reckoned with.
Opening up about the struggles he has faced over the past year, Degs’ unfeigned lyricism and raw vocal melodies rest harmoniously alongside inspiring synth bursts and cutting-edge drum work laid down by Grafix. Expect euphoria, realism and a sense of hope for the future as both of their sounds combine on this unmissable drum & bass banger.
Recent months have seen successes flow in for both Grafix and Degs, with Grafix garnering radio support from the likes of Rene LaVice, Danny Howard, Charlie Tee and Mollie Collins. Degs graced the drum & bass community in early 2020 with his debut album ‘Letters From Ndegwa’, followed up with his astonishing remix project ‘Versions From Ndegwa’ which featured six new interpretations from Bladerunner, AC13, Winslow, T.R.A.C & Karina Ramage and Degs’ collaborative neo-soul project with his brother - Kikuyu Soul.
“Buzzing to finally work with Grafix on the first Hospital release of the year. Might go grab an actual full bottle now…” - Degs

Since signing to Hospital Records in October 2012, Metrik finally arrives with his long-awaited debut album ‘Universal Language’, and believe us, it does not disappoint. Having already built a reputation as one of the hottest stars in d'n'b, he delivers an eclectic blend of anthemic and euphoric tracks to showcase his musically expansive sound.
Metrik demonstrates his uncompromising quality control by collaborating with high profile vocalists and producers. His chart topping debut single 'Want My Love' (Mixmag's 'Single Of The Month') features vocals from Elisabeth Troy of MJ Cole fame, who, fresh from touring with Clean Bandit brings an iconic, gorgeously soulful component to the table. Metrik reunites with vocalist Jan Burton for his second single ‘Human Again’ offering an infectious slice of summer d'n'b receiving heavy rotation across the festival circuit. Switching styles, we welcome the weighty lyrics from London based hip-hop artist Kyza as well as a collaboration with Australian bass music star ShockOne, adding their unique flavour to this sonically diverse body of work.
Performing at key events across the globe including Glastonbury, Global Gathering and Hospitality Brixton Academy, those fortunate to catch his energetic DJ sets have had a taste of the fire he has brought to this LP. Already a firm favourite of many A-list and radio DJ's alike, this album solidifies Metrik as one of the top tier artists in d'n'b and beyond.

FINE ARTS LYRICS:
It’s fine arts
We don’t want to just grow old,
we put bad vibes in a choke hold
It’s fine arts
We’re puffing Jane by the boatload,
and living life by our own code
So this is a little part 2
for anyone who’s been in hell,
feel like you live in a cell,
search for a key you can’t stay in this jail
Took an adjustment of my ethos,
telling myself I’ll prevail,
you don’t wanna kick yourself when you fail
man this world will never grant bail for you
Or anyone else,
so you grab life by the taking,
start to open up your mind-set,
recalibrating and training
Isolating these dark trends,
routines you start breaking
and you move to a point
the time in your life where a permanent smile takes placement
And when I found that out,
that problems come, and problems go,
still love for the music stays profound
I’ve accepted life’s got challenges,
seeking the path where the balance is,
sometimes with the cannabis
I’m opening lanes and passages I’m like
Hey, don’t be too serious,
man I’m so done with this deadpan mentality
be imperious
I try learn from experience
and be cool with the times of weariness,
have the patience of a saint
when I can’t manage it
We just gotta roll with the good times,
cos I don’t know if our timeline flows in straight lines
Keep an open ear we become wise,
knowledge is key so come blaze one to the sunrise
It’s fine arts
We don’t want to just grow old,
we put bad vibes in a choke hold
It’s fine arts
We’re puffin’ Jane by the boatload,
and living life by our own code
But in this verse I’m only talking ‘bout
how we’re turning up,
fine arts we’re gonna burn em up,
brandy glasses we’re slurping on
I’m doing shows so I earn enough
Ain’t losing sight of all my teammates,
my family, my pals and all of my people in this free state, yeah
You need some key traits
have the drive to want make new choices,
fighting back amongst the crowd of these dissenting voices
Never feel the game is now lost,
come join the party with us man,
Courvoisier is my poison
Assessing all the plus points not the damages,
I raise my drink in thanks and praise,
for everybody out there making waves
Flexing in the party gotta handle biz,
doubles on rocks I’m feeling waved,
trying to be thankful for these days
We just gotta roll with the good times,
cos I don’t know if our timeline flows in straight lines
Keep an open ear we become wise,
knowledge is key so come blaze one to the sunrise
It’s fine arts
We don’t want to just grow old,
we put bad vibes in a choke hold
It’s fine arts
We’re puffing Jane by the boatload,
and living life by our own code

Pursuing a rapid ascension to D&B's top table since signing to Hospital, Fred V & Grafix have quickly become one of the most talked about acts in the scene. Having remixed top 10 hits for Rudimental and Subfocus, and released a string of singles and tracks on Hospital, they now present their debut long player. An ambitious and consummate development of the sound they have become know for, built on a solid foundation of D&B beats. The album combines their love for live music, weighty sub bass and creative collaborations with newschool vocalists and producers.
With prodigious song-writing, epic musicality and dancefloor sensibility, "Recognise" eschews the predictable structure of todays identikit D&B. Simultaneously intellectual and effortless, it's a breath of fresh air that builds on the success of Fred V & Grafix previous releases and includes "Major Happy" and "We Are 18" favourite "Catch My Breath".

Metrik’s highly anticipated second album ‘LIFE/THRILLS’ released on Hospital Records is an exhilarating and flawlessly executed evolution of his signature sound. Under the banner of drum & bass it draws on his love for film soundtracks, synthwave, neo-soul and the Japanese pop sub-genre, Shibuya-kei and includes collaborations with Elisabeth Troy, NAMGAWD, Roméo Testa, Ragga Twins, Rothwell and Reija Lee.
‘Electric Echo’, a collaboration with Fightstar’s Dan Haigh and Alex Westaway’s synthwave side project Gunship, encapsulates the ethos of the album merging the unfamiliar with D&B sensibilities to create a fresh and exciting new sound. We also welcome the return of Elisabeth Troy in 'Chasing Sunrise' and Reija Lee in 'Cadence' making for two powerful vocal highlights on the record. For those of a purist nature, fear not; Metrik’s sophomore album is one hundred percent drum & bass and he hasn’t forgotten about the dancefloor. Bangers like 'Western Jam', 'Fatso' and 'Destination Earth' make up a serious proportion of the album’s generous fifteen tracks and reinforce his status as one of the heaviest producers on the block.
Over the past year Metrik has travelled the world representing drum & bass at major festivals of all denominations; from Glastonbury and Global Gathering to Outlook and EDC Las Vegas. All the while crafting remixes for the likes of DJ Fresh, Ellie Goulding, Gorgon City and Martin Garrix, and collaborating with fellow D&B superstars TC and Netsky. Fans of his UK Dance Chart Top 20 debut 'Universal Language' will find plenty to love here however its Metrik’s devotion to creating a fresh and thrilling strain of drum & bass that stands to bring in a new audience and earmark 'LIFE/THRILLS' for instant classic status.
