Originally the understated sister label of Hospital Records, Med School is now a standalone soldier playing a significant role in electronic music, scouring every hidden corner of drum & bass and beyond.
The release showcases 18 brand new and exclusive tracks, including some stunning remixes of the label’s finest moments. Ivy Lab lead Etherwood’s uplifting ‘We’re Nothing Without Love’ down a more ominous path while Kimyan Law strips down Royalston’s drum crazy ‘Jungle Gone Down’. Frederic Robinson injects a cloud-like bounce into Keeno’s ‘Nocturne’ and Bop gives ‘Pray’ by The Erised a stunning 170bpm rework.
The album also features a host of new creations and collaborations. Etherwood and Royalston prove that opposites attract on ‘Eyes On Me’ which brilliantly combines subtle, soulful overtones with a dark, metallic allure. Newest Med School recruit Whiney presents the deep, melancholic magic of ‘Nightfall’ while label veteran Lung returns with the energetic ‘To Infinity & Be Gone’. There are also fresh contributions from the roster’s past, present and future, including works from Anile, Rawtekk, G.H.O.S.T, Blu Mar Ten, Joe Syntax, Electrosoul System, Sunchase and more.
The ten year celebrations don’t end there as Etherwood rediscovers some back catalogue highlights and blends with the album’s new material in a continuous DJ mix of 100% Med School music.

A five-piece band isn’t something you’d expect to be linked to drum and bass label Med School but The Erised’s elegant approach adds yet another string to Med School’s forward-thinking bow.
A unique collective from Ukraine, The Erised includes drum & bass producers Detail and Hidden Element, dancer turned singer/songwriter Sonya together with a collective of jazz, rock and pop musicians.
The band’s impressive 2015 debut release, the “Desire” EP, included the supremely popular “Pray” and “It’s Over“, immediately capturing the attention of music fans across Europe and beyond.
Fast forward one year and The Erised are set to unveil their debut album, 'Room 414', a mature, impassioned creation that explores the band's vast emotional landscape. Sonya's voice is more absorbing than ever before, delicately crafting tales of sorrow and heartbreak before seducing the listener with her trademark, mesmerising choruses.
The Erised's moody instrumental textures capture a fine balance between tragic and euphoric, fire and water, spring and autumn. No track is the same, as every minute passes, a different part of the story is told.

In 2015 London Elektricity surprised us all with his first album in over five years. ‘Are We There Yet?’ more than deserved its influx of praise, now the Med School team has taken on the label boss’ latest masterpiece. The ‘Med School Scans’ LP examines, dissects and transforms each track, injecting every member’s unique persona into the critically acclaimed original.
Etherwood, Keeno and Anile compliment London Elektricity’s originals with class, elevating each into majestic adaptations. Whiney and S.P.Y keep up the funk of ‘Tenderless’ and ‘Why Are We Here?’ while seeping through heavier subs and thicker percussions. Frederic Robinson creates an epic, dreamlike state with his rendition of ‘Seven Days To Live’.
Royalston and Rawtekk don’t hold back, their reconstructions of ‘Tone Poem’ and ‘Telefunken Lizard Filter’ move from jazz and soul to depth and darkness. The LP also features members of The Erised with Hidden Element taking ‘Parallax’ to a whole other level.
Outside of the Med School alumni, we’ve got up and comers GLXY with a sublime half-time trip on ‘Artificial Skin’. Kimyan Law keeps things crisp, finely tuning ‘That Thing You Did’ and Subwave falls deep into a whirlpool of Emer Dineen’s luscious vocals in his portrayal of ‘Phase Us’.
All 15 tracks in this remix LP keep hold of the London Elektricity essence yet spread the sound further across either end of the drum & bass spectrum. Med School proudly present the fascinating sounds of A.Fruit! Her ‘Obsession’ EP is loaded with a hybrid of dark moody sonics and curious grooves in a 160BPM body, that draws from the realms of jungle, juke, future bass, techno, halftime and beyond. Opening track ‘Please, Arrive’ is a seamless stepper that boasts elements of epic electronica with a classic D+B kick. ‘Bright Spot’ is a futuristic, tight-knit jungle and juke mix, layered with a serene female vocal chop-up - a true treat for foot-workers everywhere.
A.Fruit displays the darker side of her musical finesse with ‘Music Lasts Forever’, a majestic head-nodder loaded with scattered drums that runs parallel with title track, ‘Obsession’. As for the final track? It’s her ‘Secret Trick’ of 160 and 130BPM fusion!
A.Fruit’s obsession for experimental bass music is her self-proclaimed ‘professional disease’ that already spans over a decade, following her degree in professional engineering and childhood love of songwriting. Outside of producing 160 beats, she creates sounds and music for a variety of PC games, worked in TV as a sound tech and provides digital mastering in her own home studio. 170BPM grime space-traveller Lakeway has landed back down on earth, riding an intergalactic wave that’s headed straight for our frontal cortex. It’s with unbelievable excitement that Med School proudly welcomes this futuristic waveman as the newest artist to sign exclusively to the label with his brand new ‘Frozen Nerves’ EP.
Straight off the bat, and as hard as you like is ‘My Ting’ (ft. Marger). A thugged out grime beat doused in a pool of amens, real talk and militant snare sprays. Title track ‘Frozen Nerves’ is a juke beat on steroids, jacked up to 170 BPM with semi-automatic snare shots and a bassline wobble Mr Oizo would be proud of.
’Death Becometh’ proves the young artist’s versatility with ambient jazz influences tailored to Lakeway’s grime form. ‘Synapses’ is another hybrid offspring with epic horns, incredible instrumentation and a tribal/jungle
fusion. The final slice of ‘Frozen Nerves’ gold is ‘You're The Broken Winter’ that’s almost beyond words with it’s raw hip-hop and otherworldly synth work. Take a bow Lakeway.
At just 22 years old Lakeway has already played live at the world famous Fabric nightclub and been welcomed onto national airwaves by Rockwell for a guest mix on BBC Radio 1. Whiney’s underground drum & bass flare has flourished since signing exclusively to Med School. Now he’s set and ready to present his incredible debut album ‘Talisman’ - a symbol of his dedication to D+B with a strong 12-track collection of dancefloor weapons.
The hard-hitting album opener ‘Talisman’ sets the pace with epic musicality, industrial bleeps and fat, meaty basslines. Matching up with the heavyweight business are ‘Archive’ and ‘Rock Hopper’.
