Behind The Track:
‘Wild Pine’ is an ode to his grandfather who passed away around the time the song was written.On a cold winter's night in June 2020, while playing around with the exact finger picking riff, Rod’s mother called, revealing his grandfather was terribly sick. Right after, he naturally picked up the guitar and started singing 'Hold on one more night’. He drove hours to see him the next day. The title is a reference to his grandfather’s home. A short audio recording of his voice is in the song.
