DOWNTEMPO is a genre of electronic music similar to ambient music, but with a greater emphasis on the rhythms and combined elements of Hip Hop beats, drum and bass beats, and ambient atmospheres at a slower pace.

It is a broad genre that includes a variety of smaller micro-genres and is difficult to place on a genre map.
But for simplicity, we can say that most of the genres we cover in this channel can be considered subgenres of Downtempo, be it Trip Hop, Lo-Fi, Chillhop, Chillstep or Jazzhop.
