► Obnoxious Onslaught - Neurofunk Mix - June 2016
Emperor's debut album the 'Dispositions' LP is utterly sensational, two tracks from that album feature in this mix, 'Haste' and 'From Ashes', and all tracks are now released on Critical. 'Keep It Going' from Fireteam is an aggressive dark roller. Amoss's VIP of rollpipe is an awesome enhancement on the original piece of filth, that's now up for free download on the Drum&BassArena Soundcloud. Vex throws down a minimal dark effort with 'Resonance', brushed with some seriously deep frequencies. 'Soma' by Double Helix & Morphine has some meticulously created technical drum work, that's also up for free download right now. Parasite Unit 'Dropped' some deep dark vibes, an awesome track that again, is up for free download right now. "Less neuro, more funk" is exactly what has been delivered by Volatile Cycle in the form of 'Wrench', an appropriate name for this utterly devastating piece of magic. A few older tracks feature in this mix too, 'Backlash' by the incredible Optiv & BTK was released about 5 years ago now on Virus, the legendary 'Aim'd at you' by the mighty Brockie was released on vinyl promo in 2006, but was being thrown around years before this, definitely a track I never get tired of hearing.
