Program has been a home for drum & bass artists who have both already created established names for themselves as well as those who are just beginning their career. This is what has defined Program as a creative hub and for their next release Fliwo delivers a double-sided single which helps to build on this image. He’s an artist who’s already cemented himself within the genre’s far reaching corners, gracing the discographies of its many independent labels and debuting on festival stages across Europe. Forthcoming record ‘What U Say / Look Into My Eyes’ exemplifies why his music has helped push his name throughout the scene, helping him to take his next step into the Program roster. And standing as part of the central Ram Records imprint, Program certainly adds another pivotal move for Fliwo’s aspirations.
The deep seated liquid vibes prevalent throughout ‘What U Say’ aligns the listener instantly with Fliwo’s moniker. The track moves through dainty layers of strings, softly spoken pads and a melody which twists and turns throughout its spider web of notes. Fliwo offers a breath of fresh air to the standard drum & bass format, setting out the track amongst distorted vocals and a subdued breakdown. It serves as a foreword to Fliwo’s sound for Program’s audiences whilst underlining his impeccable stylistic features.
‘Look into My Eyes’ follows a similar colour wheel of musicality, flipping between its bassline which provides a thumping spine and keyed piano notes. Amongst epic instrumentals, a swathe of synth and female vocal peaks, Fliwo has dropped a monumental flipside. Both ‘What U Say’ and ‘Look into My Eyes’ give two alternative viewpoints into Fliwo’s already painstakingly developed production standard. So once again, it’s time to get with the Program. One which offers every flavour drum & bass has created since its inception.

Frankee - Drop It Low

Originating from the bass-heavy hotbed that is London town, Frankee is one of many producers that are helping to shape drum & bass for a new era. And having already expelled himself from the tide of competition clawing for the top, he's created his own identity with nerve-twitching, eardrum encapsulating releases.
His debut 'Turning Point' EP saw him elevated above his predecessors, whilst monstrous sleuth 'Gully' became a track which resounded throughout last year, a sure-fire weapon for every dancefloor detonator.
This time, however, Frankee covers every base within the space of a four-track centrepiece. From the intricately woven feat of 'Deep Down', back to the zigzagging bassline of 'Drop it Low', every avenue is crossed to display his prestige in the world of production standards.
A fairground of musicality, 'Drop it Low' is the perfect reintroduction to Frankee's ability to flip the switch and take you into a quirkier dimension of sound. The riff is undeniably catchy; grabbing you by the shoulders and submerging you in pulses of reverberating subs. Snapping, biting and with commanding vocal samples that literally throw themselves at you, Frankee is back and proving his merit.

For twenty five years, Ram Records’ ground breaking roster have stood at drum & basses forefront. Time and time again, they’ve delivered some of the most definitive releases which have helped to shape the genre’s roots, becoming a prized part of its antiquity and huge back catalogue of releases. But alongside their primary artists, they’ve also welcomed guests to bring their refined production to Ram’s ever-growing discography. Their next addition is from Smooth, an artist whose spent years refining his craft, from playing instruments in his formative years to turning his hand at metal, hardcore and finally drum & bass, where he landed himself on its most revered imprints. He continues this ascent with the ‘Resurrection EP’ on Ram, featuring four fresh cuts to add to an already stellar succession of releases.
First from the new batch of records is ‘Trajectory’, a steppy, snapping whirlpool of clattering bass rhythms and fluctuating note patterns. It pulls you into Smooth’s dreamy soundscape, whilst still channelling a bassline which pulsates steadily underneath each flurry of beats. Up next comes ‘Disco’, with a more cascading, jazzy appeal, one which gradually builds into uplifting pads and clattering drums, helping to flesh-out the composition. ‘Disco’ points to Smooth’s streamlined musicality, which features a huge repertoire of sound.
‘Device’ follows with a cinematic intro, which begins to grow steadily on a quick succession of sonic stabs and heavyweight drums. Amongst old-school breaks and rattling percussion sitting underneath the mix, the track is tribal yet crunches with grinding LFO. It’s fierce in its delivery and channels more contemporary production standards. ‘My Feeling’ finishes the EP on a completely different vibe, drawing out keyed arpeggios and elevating synths. Smooth flexes his creativity one more time before the Resurrection’s close, stringing together shimmery vocals and an emphatic climax. Alongside its predecessors, ‘My Feeling’ gives the perfect end to a stellar release. One welcomed by Ram’s decorated history.

An infamously quick-fire dj, as well as one of the most hotly tipped producers to date, Frankee is returning yet again with a single to further solidify his position.
Whether it's from a set played on the notorious Ibiza waterfront, or amongst a packed out, dimly lit stage in super club Fabric, you'll instantly recognise these refined cuts premiered over the last six months. Detonating a hard lined crowd at Drum & Bass Arena's Easter weekend, Power and Downtown are of two totally different flavours, yet still pull raw energy and emotion from dancefloors globally.
Featuring the vocal talents of Simon Franks, 'Downtown' demonstrates an ability to tap into a hugely diverse range of capacities. Fading between carefully textured breaks, as well as a cleverly distorted bass, it spans a hugely intricate composition. Fluctuating note patterns perfectly underpin slowly elevated synths; cutting open and laying bear the producer's depth. Working his more emotive soundscape 'Downtown' epitomises Frankee's versatility and his multidimensional approach to music making.
On the flipside, a much darker standard is set. Winding up before clanking into a maze of snapping hi-hats, reverberating bass and barrages of driving drum loops 'Power' demonstrates the harder style of his production, as seen in previous tracks like 'Snarl' and 'Excalibur'. Brooding, gritty and a perfect 4am grinder, the delivery of this next single presents two opposing tracks that help to exemplify Frankee's vast discography.

Magnetude 'Snatch'
Eight years in the making, the path of Magentude was never a smooth one. The Anglo-Russian hybrid spent their formative years sharing music across the vast expanse of cyberspace; following a chance online meeting through their individual projects, it was their love for musically enriched drum & bass which drew them together and it was this passion which saw them collaborate. Time passed, meaning Magnetude became less of an idea and more of a reality as their tracks gained traction across worldwide stages and DJ sets. However, the ingeniously sculpted compositions they piece together meant it was only natural for them to pique interest with one of dance music’s most revered labels, Ram Records. And it was here that their forthcoming single ‘Snatch’ and ‘Signals’ came into being.
One element of Magnetude’s success is their ability to integrate multi-genre soundscapes across drum & bass. ‘Snatch’ is the epitomic example, pulling out vast, orchestral instrumentals and throbbing bass notes to draw you deep inside its climatic breakdown. As the record transcends into a more dancefloor-lead drop, it ducks and dives between rocketing pulses of LFO and a hook which is undeniably catchy. Switching midway and demonstrating that every inch of their music channels a constant thought process, ‘Snatch’ may be your first foreword into Magnetude’s sound but it will certainly carve a lasting impact.
‘Signals’ still shakes with the same relentless drive as its flipside but also gives you a glimpse into Magnetude’s boundary-breaking sound design. Pulling robotic, eerily warped vocals through the mix alongside its floating synths, the introduction of its weighty drum patterns adds a divisive undercurrent. ‘Signals’ still keeps its focus around the anarchist club vibes seen throughout Magnetude’s production but it also opens you up to their range and diversity.
They’re a duo who concentrates on developing a signature which not only oozes individuality but also centralises around the contemporary progress of drum & bass. This is why they’ve become such an exciting prospect within the twenty-five year strong Ram Records roster.

June Miller
1: Saus 2: Ups & Downs 3: Bad Brains 4: The Promise Ring
The introductions are over; June Miller are back and there's no apology. They've reappeared having been stooped in solitary confinement; presenting a handful of cuts, only to prove that this was brutally productive and they've been working hard to follow up their last release.
Bare-knuckled and still swinging, this EP sees June Miller entering round three and raising the bar yet another level. The precursor to their forthcoming album, from 'The Promise Ring' to the resounding brass of 'Saus', it certainly sets a precedent.
Rolling out first is a record featuring Mefjus, a production freight-train who's been setting the competition alight in recent months. 'Saus' is no different, with June Miller intertwining a tightly compact composition which smashes your synapses on impact. Rattling through on tracks of unhinged percussion, prepare yourself for a musical excursion which will take you through the darkest depths of drum and bass. But what else could you expect, when the talents of June Miller and Mefjus are so effortlessly combined?
Coming up next, title-track 'Ups & Downs' shows the pair's ability to completely flip an emotive vocal sample onto its back. The way they use this sound component shows undiluted ingenuity, creating a totally different impact with every switch. It begins through a wave of static, with a break that slowly leads you up a drum-paved crescendo. Then it pounds, drops and pulls you up just as quickly, creating dynamics which merge to create an electronic masterpiece.
Then we're introduced to 'Bad Brains'. There's no denying why this track has been used to intro so many sets over the past year. It winds up with an intimidating compactness, before springing you into chaos. Bludgeoning beats roll with each bar set and there's no escape from its driving onslaught. This track is instantly recognisable on first listen, alluding to June Miller's ever-growing profile.
And lastly, we have 'The Promise Ring'. Adding a sexier vibe to its predecessors, the producers have yet again showed there's a hidden depth to their musicality. Snapping, tapping and with a female vocal oozing between carefully layered constructs, it's a nod to their huge reel of ability. This last reaffirms that their debut album is sure to feature some of the most perfectly crafted, versatile music the Ram imprint has to offer.

After the release of their 'Colours' EP in 2014, Mind Vortex have switched up a gear and are now rolling forward with even more intensity. Presenting yet another four slabs of sonic-attitude, they've solidified their mark in Ram's roster and are this time coming for the jugular. If you were looking for the same pent-up aggression as 'Hotbox' and 'Gravity', Mind Vortex are not here to disappoint.
Title-track 'Against the Grain' serves as the perfect entrée. Pulsating subs are underpinned by quickening drum patterns, which pull you against a baying tide. Snapping against booming kicks and elevating into an exploding crescendo, one which is meticulously planned. Mind Vortex have shifted the drum & bass paradigm, by merging different stylistic patterns demonstrated even within the EP's very first track.
Rolling out next with quick fire beats and the intimidating growl of Evil B is 'Bigger than that'. The MC leads you into a construction line of chaos, crafted by funk driven basslines and breaks which are bulging at their seams. Weighty, menacing and instantly grappling your attention, it's a sure-fire club anthem… One which has already ignited dancefloors.
With longing piano notes steppily taking you through its introduction, 'Curve Ball' throws you headfirst into a midst of infectious synths and fluctuating key patterns. A driving anthem, yet one which takes its time to methodically build segments, the track stays true to its name. Constantly throwing you jauntily into different directions, this is demonstrative of Mind Vortex's ability to hold you by the ears. There's no stopping this pounding riddim; it beholds a pulse to keep you dancing.
Then finally, comes 'Stand High'. Daniela's vocal delights take you through a journey between breaks, elevated with each beat pattern. Again, Mind Vortex epitomises their command over every nerve in your body. Aboard vocal crescendos, risen by elevating synths you're baited by each hook and snared almost too easily. It's the perfect accompaniment to three already hard-hitting stompers… Proving Mind Vortex's versatility, a trait which is sure to see them explode in the next twelve months.

Five years after bursting onto the scene, Delta Heavy unveil their eagerly awaited debut album, 'Paradise Lost', due for release on March 4th 2016 on Ram Records. One of the few acts whose sound effortlessly straddles the Atlantic, the duo's multi-dimensional versatility is evident throughout their inaugural LP.
2015 saw the release of singles 'Ghost' and 'Punish My Love', accompanied by their notoriously idiosyncratic animated music videos, the former of which was nominated for three awards including 'One Of a Kind' in Vevo's Year In Music. This year sees an extensive world tour, and this 14 track opus is the perfect lead up, tying in all aspects of drum and bass, cinematic soundscapes and space-age house.
The album opens with the dystopian title track, an orchestral flurry of strings that dissolve into a grinding, half time war much that resembles Gesaffelstein on acid. "Event Horizon', 'Pathways' and upcoming club single 'Oscillator' see the duo in more familiar territory, complex and thundering sci-fi dancefloor drum and bass; whilst 'City of Dreams' and 'Cut Me' demonstrate a lighter, more melodic touch. Soaring top lines link the epic singles 'Ghost', 'White Flag' and 'Reborn' whilst 'Conquer The Galaxy' takes future house into the cosmos.
Underpinned by meticulous production and presented as a seamless composition, 'Paradise Lost' represents a benchmark in the Delta Heavy journey.

The world's biggest drum & bass festival is approaching and with it comes some of the scene's most formidable imprints. With over two decades of experience, Ram has heralded the genre since its inception. And this year, they'll be taking over the insanely engineered Factory stage with a line up like no other, featuring the heaviest names across their roster.
In celebration of their stage takeover, the imprint has provided four fresh cuts to whet your appetite. In association with the festival, they've picked a host of names to provide a soundtrack to your summer.
Up first comes the long awaited release of Calyx & TeeBee's 'Get it Twisted'. Following the runaway success of their 2nd LP on Ram, this is a welcome follow up, with reverberating LFO which flicks between the vocal talents of Calyx himself. Proving they're kingpins of the game, there's no better way to reintroduce you to Ram's most resounding veterans.
Then the monumental collaboration between Rene LaVice and Current Value rolls out next. A pairing seldom seen, they bring together two varying styles that merge to create something both irrevocably huge and drivingly dynamic. With Rene's tell-tale production standard merged with the gritty, tech-infused sounds of Current Value, 'Calm the Fuck Down' is anything but a wind down.
June Miller's slice of stabbing bass 'Spin Test' is exactly what you'd expect; ingenious in its design, with pounding drum loops amongst a tightly knit composition. A duo who come with no apologies, they've been on the genre's forefront since with debut 'Robots & Romans' LP, and this next output proves they're here to stay.
Changing the tone slightly is Ram Records guest Madface, who once again teams up with Janine Small for a stunning vocal number that provides a lighter hue. Soft pads and vocal crescendos bring you deep into the mix, demonstrating Madface's ability to encapsulate the versatile sounds of the spectrum's lighter end.
So, let Ram take you into Prague this summer… As the countdown is on until this year's biggest drum & bass festival detonates subs and ear drums globally.

Following a plethora of new releases on Ram Records compilation series, Madface returns to the revered dance music imprint for a standalone offering. Ram has often prided itself with pedestalling diversity and this next single proves why they’re still leading the way for plucking out the best newcomers from the depths of cyberspace. However, Madface has slowly been making his impact felt over the last few years and this single will signify yet another step closer to his name becoming a staple on line ups globally.
The year’s lighter months lay just on the horizon and ‘Hold On’ featuring vocalist Benji helps draw the Summer even closer. A sure set liner and dancefloor anthem, the voice crescendos offering by Benji help take the track to different heights, spiking with every humanistic hook and clattering rolls of percussion. Each hi-hat helps the record snap into life whilst the bassline drives you forward at a dizzying speed. Emotive yet still underpinned by its stockier elements, Madface manages to balance both weightiness and an appeal that will stretch across the drum & bass community. It’s easy to imagine ‘Hold On’ setting alight stages throughout the festival circuit and if this track doesn’t get you excited for the impending season then nothing will.
On the flipside, Madface draws out his nastier demeanour, with clattering breaks that cascade between stabs of LFO and crunching snare. The perfect juxtaposition to its A side, Madface caters for a range of tastes, proving his career will inevitably go from strength to strength in the coming months.
Teaming up with Madface, Ram continue to draw out every colour the drum & bass world has to offer. Demonstrating why they still dominate the drum & bass world.

PRGRAM100

____
The 100th part of Program’s discography is about to drop and with it you’re reminded of a huge part of the imprint’s history, spanning across a colossal number of releases and representing an important section of the drum & bass underground. Split into three parts, Program 100 will realign you with the sounds which gained the international attention which Ram’s sister label now enjoys, having broken away from its counterpart whilst creating its own place within the dance music market. For its first package, you’re given remixes, exclusives and VIPs as part of the Sampler. And these include tracks which have been heralded as this year’s most sought after dubs, by the likes of trend setting players such as UKF and Red Bull.
Marking the first part of its track listing, the growling Skantia rework of LoKo’s ‘Bassline Secret’ will be a welcome introduction for many drum & bass listeners. Ram Records stalwarts Calyx & Teebee then have their take on Legion & Logam’s ‘House of Cards’, before Eastcolors' ‘Toys’ gets the VIP treatment. Fascad makes his Program debut with ‘Bull’ and Eazy’s ‘Lushen’ oozes with the technical Program vibe. Rounding off the sampler is Glitch City & Night Shift’s ‘Spider’s Web’ and they make their first appearance on Program yet fit perfectly within its ranks, delivering a murkier undertow from their usual offerings. In just six tracks, the label’s team have painstakingly selected music which defines its journey, from its beginnings to now. So once again, it’s time to get with the Program, although this time its for its most expansive sequence to date.

Magnetude
Entr’acte
Released – 17th August
RAMM334
Magnetude are a powerhouse and the quickness of their output proves this. The Anglo-Russian duo were picked up by drum & bass figurehead Ram Records after a succession of releases which saw the pair play with their inherently musical, yet full-frontal sonics, amassing a fanbase which had already stretched throughout the world’s ever corner. But they’ve now been thrust even further into the spotlight, slowly becoming a household name with every release they’ve dropped on the Ram imprint.
Their forthcoming single ‘Entr’acte’ is a step further into the dark for Magnetude, whilst its tinkering, circus themed intro takes you straight into the fray. As the track gradually begins to build on rolling drum patterns and creepy atmospherics, you’re pushed down a cataclysmic drop, one which is spiked with obtrusive hooks. Magnetude go full throttle with this release, stepping it up a gear and proving that despite their more dancefloor oriented records like ‘Snatch’ and ‘Arcade’, their sound’s foundations have a nastier underpinning.
Magnetude are quickly becoming a recognisable force within drum & bass, one which is set to takeover sound systems throughout every festival this summer. And with yet more music to come from the producers, this is just the beginning of their dance music exploration.

A sound which has filtered through clubs across the globe, Culture Shock’s music is yet again blazing the trail. And since the significant passing of an unmarked demo, his journey’s been watched diligently from every corner of the drum & bass community.
Standing as a marker, ‘City Lights’ represents what Culture Shock means to his fan base. After doing the club circuits and developing into one of scene’s most notorious dubs, its release was met with great anticipation. As a result, Culture Shock has become a buzzword for the genre’s trophy cabinet, coming with yet more fresh cuts to unleash onto an unsuspecting audience.
Already becoming the centrepiece in his sets worldwide, whether at Prague’s seminal Let It Roll festival or London’s biggest electronic music showcase at SW4, the wait for this next single is now over.
‘Have it all’ takes you back into a musicianship which is inherently his. Ripping through on steppy pads and a flickering bassline, prepare to be taken through on a manufacturing line of elevating synths. Flurries of enriching sonic take you deeper and deeper into the mix, one held together tightly through its vocals. Giving a hook between each figure of eight, the track’s melody is administrated in a way which is seldom seen outside of Culture Shock’s productions. It’s time to realign yourself with a producer who created his own paradigm.
‘Pandemic’ presents a flipside which pushes you into choppier waters. Low-frequency bass drives you forward, whilst the hollow 808 drum patterns delves you even further through its composition. Wavering distortion gives it a more menacing feel, whilst its metallic, tinny processing keeps you held from beginning to end. Culture Shock delivers another blow and his career is yet again driving forward. Although this time, there are no signs of stopping, with a host of new releases lined up for the coming six months…

Standing as one of the most resounding electronic music labels in history, Ram Records has finally hit its 25-year milestone. Established by Andy C and Ant Miles in 1992, the label has boldly placed itself on the forefront since its inception, acting as a foundation for the drum & bass genre and seeing through its development from the very beginning.
Once heralded as a platform for Andy C’s own productions, the imprint expandedmassively, becoming a world-renowned hub for some of the biggest drum & bass artists to ever hit the scene. The label has gone from strength to strength, helping to pedestal house-hold names such as Chase & Status, Sub Focus and Wilkinson. From the charts to the radio airwaves, they’ve continued their crossover success.Receiving daytime airplay and top ten positions unceasingly over the last decade, the producers have enabled Ram’s influence to seep into every corner of dance music.
Alongside support from BMG and current label manager Jim Gash, 2017 has seen Ram Records ascend to new heights. And to celebrate their twenty fifth year, Ram will be rereleasing twenty five original remastered classics from their definitive back catalogue as well as seventeen remixes, including reworks from Chase & Status, Killbox, DC Breaks, Frankee, Total Science, Benny L, Kasra and Enei, Ant Miles and Shimon, Bladerunner, DJ Marky Calyx & Teebee, Sound in Noise and Metrik. All in, it’s Ram’s most ambitious project to date.
The 25th year of Ram’s history is looking to be its most memorable yet. Both musically and through their major city UK tour dates, Ram’s versatile roster is still being pushed to new borders. Quarter of a century on and the record label is as strong as ever.

Alongside the delicious aggressiveness that made Audio so renowned, his 'Beastmode' LP cracks him open like you've never heard him before. Fiercely powerful, yet intricately different, each cut from his debut album on the Ram Records imprint packs a very different punch whilst hitting with the same fierceness and wealth of talent.
'Beastmode' reflects all his output to date. Whether it's the old-school flavor of virus, or the steppy-unapologetic riddims he's served up for Ram, this record won't leave you questioning who rules supreme over the genre's murkier waters.
Whether it's the half-time, two stepping 'Move it Along' or the pulsing, snarling undertones of 'Thud', you're blessed with a barrage full of fresh sonic assaults. 'Thunder Ride' serves as the perfect opener, a brand new record with synth-laddered foreboding intro which pushes you below the surf. Tinkling hi-hats and a distorted LFO adds shockwaves throughout the mix, submerging you even deeper. Urgent, pulsing and nastily crafted, this is Audio and his more fearsome.
On the other hand, 'Rogue' presents a clanking, runaway riddim that snaps its teeth with every break. Stacked between ominous build ups and jaunty samples, the second drop flairs out as angrily as the first, demonstrating Audio's ingenious sound design.
And flipping the switch once again is 'Sovereign', a nod to the producer's roots and a track that gradually builds its presence throughout. Between warbling stabs and peddled kick drum, you're drawn by the aural nerves. Elevating beat patterns set you up for another descent into madness, through a stringently tight composition.
Featuring artists, such as drum & bass heavyweight Prolix, also take center stage. Their collaboration 'Creatures', alongside the revered lyricist Nuklear MC, adds a welcomed surprise. 'Creatures' delivers everything you'd expect and more; steroid-pumped subs, the dark overture of Nuklear and apocalyptic atmospherics.
Also featured on its weighty track listing are singles 'Make it Happen', 'Overdose', 'Drop it Human' and 'Shatterdome'. They were a precursor for what was to come, which signified one of the darkest, most uncompromising productions yet on Ram Records… In all of its twenty five years of history.

DC Breaks 'Never Stop' (S.P.Y Remix)
The art of remixing is something which DC Breaks hold in high regard – from their own cuts through to the artists they’ve chosen for their Different Breed reworks, their standards have been clear from the offset. Even the original release of their seminal LP featured a hugely diverse array of collaborative artists and musical signatures, which is why the duo came through Ram Records’ roster with so much garnered interest. And adding to the already popular twists from A.M.C & Turno, Flowidus and Tantrum Desire, more artists enter the fray for their own takes on DC Breaks’ sound.
S.P.Y and Synergy are next to take you into the deeper and darker world of Different Breed, drawing styles from opposite sides of the same spectrum and twisting them into something almost unrecognisable.
First up, S.P.Y moves through Never Stop, pushing DC Breaks’ more dancefloor, vocal-lead breakdowns and slamming them against a more tech-driven reimagining. S.P.Y is the master of driving a minimalist sound design whilst also smacking hard on its impact; between every clattering layer of drums and elevating blast of LFO, the original melody streams throughout his remix. The bare bones of Never Stop are clear to see, but S.P.Y makes his presence known through every crackle of bass.
Following in quick succession is Synergy’s version of Hustle, which dramatically switches gears and orchestrates a more stabbing descent into chaos. With Synergy’s neuro-infused background making itself known, their pounding kicks and snares catapult Hustle into a more cataclysmic scene, one which is sure to gain a following throughout their loyal following of DJs. The pair have already found themselves as a centrepiece within the darker side of drum & bass throughout recent months and following a release on the infamous Ram Records imprint, this heat is about to switch up another notch. More remixes are still to come from DC Breaks’ debut Different Breed LP and looking back at its first consecutive unveilings, their full power hasn’t yet been felt.
