The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show of the same name, which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as Johan Vilborg, Jayeson Andel, Vintage & Morelli, & Terry Da Libra. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, and other radio platforms, Silk Music Showcase recently reached its 400th episode (http://www.silkmusicshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Music Podcasts in the USA on iTunes.

Carefully selected to represent the sound of our radio show (and, more generally, our label), the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Following his recent remix of EverLight's "Revenio" on Arrival, US producer Mrmilkcarton is back with a brand new EP. "Complectus Aeris" consists of two originals, as well as a remix by US producer and label resident SNR.

A smooth groove is quickly established in the Original Mix, in which numerous delicious arpeggio melodies surround the frisky percussion elements. The break features mesmerizing vocal stems, as well as captivating synth layers that seamlessly drive the track to its zenith. SNR's remix starts out with a strong beat accompanied by a unique and dominant bassline. Various background synths spice up the atmosphere, and the mysterious vocal from the original emerges later. In the break, an energy-filled theme lead is introduced, which quickly carries the song to its peak moment. "Tommy's Sofa" is introduced by floating pad layers and subtle, yet intriguing melodies. A strikingly well-crafted breakbeat emerges shortly after, accompanied by a groovy, tech-inspired bass synth. Throughout the song, countless inspiring sound effects and variations unite beautifully.

Five years ago, we were introduced to the music of American composer Dan Sieg, who, at the time, was producing under the banner of "Dan & Sam." There are typically only a few newcomers to our musical niche each year who completely awe us with their talent; Dan was truly one of those artists. The demo in question was "Breaking The Illusion," which we ultimately released in October 2012. It quickly became a fan favorite that year and remains one of our most beloved releases, in our label's decade-long existence.

Flashing forward to the present: we have now had the privilege of working with Dan on numerous releases. Choosing to use his given name and surname, "Dan Sieg," in recent years to showcase his eclectic, distinct, and always visionary brand of electronic music, he has now released an artist album with us ("A Sense Of Wonder"), as well as various EPs, ranging in genre from drum & bass to progressive house. It's our great privilege to showcase his wonderful musical contributions to our imprint via "Dan Sieg / Dan & Sam 01," an artist retrospective.

Initially featured on Stendahl & LaMeduza's recent downtempo EP on our imprint, "Different You" receives the remix treatment from label veterans Approaching Black and Movement Machina, who provide intriguing deep and progressive house takes on the already captivating original song.
