Oriental Chillout — Relaxing Music — Inspiring Hong Kong

What are the most famous traditional Asian instruments?

Erhu
The erhu will probably be the traditional instrument that you’ll be most likely to see in a trip to China. You might see it played non-professionally for entertainment in public parks, and it is also played by street musicians.
Pronounced èrhú (urrh-hoo) in Mandarin, it is a two-string, violin-like instrument that is played with a bow like a violin bow. It isn’t as loud a violin because the soundbox is small. Erhus generally retain the traditional tuning system, so they may sound odd to Western ears. It allows for a high degree of virtuosity, covers three octaves, and can be made to imitate the sound of Chinese singing and birds and horses. It produces a melancholic sound.

Shakuhachi
One of the most popular traditional Japanese wind instruments is the shakuhachi. Better known as the Japanese flute, this instrument has been used by Zen Buddhists as a spiritual tool for meditation practices known as ‘suizen’ (吹禅).
Held vertically, the shakuhachi has four holes on the front and one on the back and is traditionally made of bamboo.
Used for meditative purposes, shakuhachi music was originally used for personal spiritual enlightenment rather than public performance.

Koto
The koto (箏) is a Japanese plucked half-tube zither and the national instrument of Japan. It is derived from the Chinese zheng and se, and similar to the Mongolian yatga, the Korean gayageum and ajaeng, the Vietnamese đàn tranh, the Sundanese kacapi, and the Kazakhstan jetigen.
The music made from the koto is said to be romantic. Notable koto artists include Yatsuhashi Kengyo, Tadao Sawai, and Kazue Sawai.

Guzheng
Pronounced gǔzhēng (goo-jung) in Mandarin, it is a large 18–23-or-more stringed instrument. It is said that it is an ancestor of the Japanese koto.
It isn’t commonly played in parks or on the streets. It is meant for Chinese opera and concert performances, and it is often played in traditional music ensembles. It is usually played by female musicians. Unlike Japanese koto players who kneel on the floor, Chinese musicians sit in chairs in front of guzheng desks.

This playlist is made for anyone that enjoys and appreciates the delicate sounds of traditional Asian instruments and also wants something modern and futuristic infused with them. So tune in, chill out and enjoy the music!

Chillout Music — Future Ambient — NASA Mix

TeArs
9 Views · 5 years ago

Do you know what real «deep space» music is? The real deep space music was put on a NASA-created phonograph album called Voyager Golden Record. This is a mixtape of music that represents our species, and it is intended to communicate a story of our world to extraterrestrials. For now, it’s the only record of human music that made it out of the Solar System and currently is 22 billion and 500 million km away from Earth. Of course, the works of Beethoven, Stravinsky and Bling Willie Johnson weren’t “spacy” whatsoever, but these will forever be known as the first human music in deep space.

However, the tracks that we put in this chillout playlist could make any activity stellar. They are perfect for quiet and monotonous work, relaxation, dreaming, planning your future, writing fantasy stories, exploring galaxies and gazing at the stars. This music will hover you through the atmosphere to outer space. We are inviting you to settle down on our Space Shuttle for a warm cosmic journey. Chill and move forward breathing deeply, embracing both the necessity and beauty of solitude.

We have created a new channel and we really need your help.

Lyrics for UPSAHL - Last Supper
[Verse 1]
There's a lot of vampires in this city
That's why I don't go out, trying to suck the life out of me
When I'm on fire, they're getting sticky
If I was to burn out, know they wouldn't go down with me

[Pre-Chorus]
I still think that everybody's fucking fake
Childish shit, they always feel some type of way
No more breaking bread with people that I hate
Hate, hate, hate, hate

[Chorus]
I live every day like it's the last supper, supper
It's just me, my day one's and my mother, mother
We're drinking holy watеr, circles getting smaller
If you wеren't invited, what a bummer (Ah)
I live every day like it's the last supper, supper
Got the company I need so fuck a lover, lover
So high, we're getting taller
My vibe is so unbothered
If you weren't invited, what a bummer (Ah)

[Verse 2]
I just ordered Nobu 'cause I'm bougie
If you don't pass the vibe check
Sorry but you don't get the sushi (Sorry)
Don't take it personally, I'm just choosy
Can't get too crowded in this Malibu jacuzzi
[Pre-Chorus]
I want money just to spoil all my friends
Go to Bali, wasted on a private jet
Talking shit about you while we're making bread
Yeah, yeah, yeah

[Chorus]
I live every day like it's the last supper, supper
It's just me, my day one's and my mother, mother
We're drinking holy water, circles getting smaller
If you weren't invited, what a bummer (Ah)
I live every day like it's the last supper, supper
Got the company I need so fuck a lover, lover
So high, we're getting taller
My vibe is so unbothered
If you weren't invited, what a bummer

[Bridge]
Yeah, yeah, yeah
La-la-la-la-la
Listen up, I gotta make a toast
La-la-la-la-la
Seven billion people but I fuck with y'all the most
La-la-la-la-la
This calls for a party just for twelve
La-la-la-la-la
And tell me why the fuck would I need anybody else? Yeah
[Outro, Spoken]
Done, love it
