“At some point in the night she had a dream. Or it was possible that she was partially awake, and was only remembering a dream? She was alone among the rocks on a dark coast beside the sea. The water surged upward and fell back languidly, and in the distance she heard surf breaking slowly on a sandy shore. It was comforting to be this close to the surface of the ocean and gaze at the intimate nocturnal details of its swelling and ebbing. And as she listened to the faraway breakers rolling up onto the beach, she became aware of another sound entwined with the intermittent crash of waves: a vast horizontal whisper across the bossom of the sea, carrying an ever-repeated phrase, regular as a lighthouse flashing: Dawn will be breaking soon. She listened a long time: again and again the scarcely audible words were whispered across the moving water. A great weight was being lifted slowly from her; little by little her happiness became more complete, and she awoke. Then she lay for a few minutes marveling the dream, and once again fell asleep.”

Safe Word - Moonlight

“The road swerved left. The crash of waves morphed into the rumble of thunder, and the black asphalt tapered to become a slender stretch of rope. She followed it up into the darkness, night spilling around and below her as someone knocked over the ink-jar of the sky and scattered its liquid to the furthest corners, dislodging silver shards of moon that bounced off her umbrella.”

✏️ Lyrics
Counting stars in the hills again
Making wishes that'll never end
Not everything is black and white
When you're chasing the moonlight

I swear I feel like we're flying
And I don't feel like going home just yet

Don't care bout the morning after
Me and you just staying up 'til the sun
A tragic beautiful disaster
Who cares at least we’re having
Fun
Least we're having fun
Our journeys just begun

Pick me up midnight drive
Pretend we're riding satellites
Told me everything was not black and white
When you're chasing the moonlight

Songs Of Surrender. Out Now: http://u2.lnk.to/SOS

"My name is Phil Berge and I'm a tattoo artist currently tattooing at International tattoo studio in Montreal, a shop that I co-own with 2 other partners. I have been tattooing for the last 12 years and created animation tattoos about 7 years ago. Animation tattoos have birthed from my passion of traditional animation and traditional tattooing. The combination of the two makes interesting tattoo compositions that magically come to life when photographed and animated with classic frame by frame animation methods.

For the piece, I was inspired by the old days of seeing U2 music videos on TV. Which is why I chose to use a classic vintage TV with black and grey mouths that I could animate to make it sing the song. The TV then creates an electrical storm around them to go along with the main theme of the song and had more movement to the tattoo and animation."

Terrence O’Connor is a creative director and photographer based in LA. His partner is actor and comedian Benito Skinner, known online as @Bennydrama7. The two have worked together since the day they met.

“I wanted to create a video that celebrated our relationship as gay men. There’s a symmetry that exists within, but together we are whole. Two parallel life paths that managed to intersect. Thank you to the legendary U2 for this iconic song. It is exactly how I feel. Two hearts beating as one.”
