The 100th part of Program’s discography is about to drop and with it you’re reminded of a huge part of the imprint’s history, spanning across a colossal number of releases and representing an important section of the drum & bass underground. Split into three parts, Program 100 will realign you with the sounds which gained the international attention which Ram’s sister label now enjoys, having broken away from its counterpart whilst creating its own place within the dance music market. For its first package, you’re given remixes, exclusives and VIPs as part of the Sampler. And these include tracks which have been heralded as this year’s most sought after dubs, by the likes of trend setting players such as UKF and Red Bull.
 
Marking the first part of its track listing, the growling Skantia rework of LoKo’s ‘Bassline Secret’ will be a welcome introduction for many drum & bass listeners. Ram Records stalwarts Calyx & Teebee then have their take on Legion & Logam’s ‘House of Cards’, before Eastcolors' ‘Toys’ gets the VIP treatment. Fascad makes his Program debut with ‘Bull’ and Eazy’s ‘Lushen’ oozes with the technical Program vibe. Rounding off the sampler is Glitch City & Night Shift’s ‘Spider’s Web’ and they make their first appearance on Program yet fit perfectly within its ranks, delivering a murkier undertow from their usual offerings. In just six tracks, the label’s team have painstakingly selected music which defines its journey, from its beginnings to now. So once again, it’s time to get with the Program, although this time its for its most expansive sequence to date.

Chords has often been heralded as one of the most musically gifted artists on the Ram Records roster and having begun his journey via classical training as a child, it’s no surprise why his sounds are so technically impressive. Influenced by everything from soul to hip hop, his eclectic tastes shine through each one of his offerings, helping him to have a unique take on the 170bpm drum & bass genre.
Many listeners were concerned during his brief hiatus over the last few years; despite delivering tracks for Ram Records stellar compilation releases, his standalone releases became few and far between. But just like his music, Chords is multi-faceted. He’s an artist in the truest sense of the word and during his break from music making, he’d dedicated himself to the world of cinema. After receiving a prestigious award for his most recent short film, he decided to once again focus on music, signalling this next release on the prestigious Ram imprint.

‘Love Burning’ rolls out on old-school breaks, metallic pads and a winding, undiluted bassline, ebbing and flowing between carefully picked piano notes. Stabbing synths give the track a euphoric edge, pulling you deeper and deeper into Chords’ intricately woven composition. It’s a side of Chords’ which was previously unseen, although with a whole collection of records waiting to be released, you’re likely to see more of it in the coming months.
Chords is back and weightier than ever. For fans old and new, the anticipation for more music has exploded with this next release.

Drumcode’s youngest rising star, Layton Giordani, exploded on to the scene after his debut album “Where It Begins” back in February, after scoring some of the biggest festivals in Europe this summer, he now returns with an exciting collab titled “Live Again”.

Australian artist Thomas Hayes joins the Arrival roster with "Some Things Never Change", including two remixes by Mrmilkcarton and AKI Amano. We are especially pleased to welcome Thomas Hayes to our label family, whose visionary productions have been receiving tremendous support of late by Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond.

The Original Mix quickly establishes a firm beat with an intriguing bassline underneath. The soundscape is spiced up with numerous vocal effects, as well as well-crafted sidechained pad layers and a subtle background piano melody. The break showcases the piano in full effect combined with the powerful pads, and later, the hypnotizing theme lead is introduced, which leads the track to its zenith.

Mrmilkcarton (US) returns to Arrival with his interpretation of "Some Things Never Change". A floating atmosphere is introduced, including truly mesmerizing bassline stabs and sweeping pad layers on top. In the break, we are introduced to the extremely powerful theme lead, as well as an additional smooth piano lead. The sound of this lead is varied later, proving a great addition to the various theme riffs.

Japanese artist AKI Amano provides us with the second remix -- it starts out with smooth percussion elements and enjoyable background synth riffs. A delayed piano riff emerges in the break, combined with supporting soothing string lines. The track continues with its lively groove, which is spiced up with lush, intermittent vocal stems.
