Dance music icon Netsky has taken the drum & bass scene by storm since the announcement of his highly anticipated return to Hospital Records for his fourth studio album. ‘Second Nature’ represents Netsky’s everlasting love for his D&B roots that has sent shockwaves throughout the dance community. His journey comes full circle as his brand new record marks the 10 year anniversary since his self-titled Hospital debut, with collaborations on the 18-track long-player from Sub Focus, Becky Hill, Rudimental, Hybrid Minds, and Urbandawn to name a few. ‘Second Nature’ is teed up to be a remarkable and seminal release for drum & bass lovers around the world.

Bringing his classic liquid sound into 2020 alongside New Zealand based prodigy Montell2099 who has worked with the likes of Diplo, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne and Mr. Carmack, future bass meets Netsky’s signature soulful groove on ‘Mixed Emotions’, paying tribute to New Zealand and the love and support he has received there over the past decade of his career as an artist and DJ.

‘Look At Me Go’ features breakbeat and UK hardcore champion Darren Styles. This four to the floor slammer with its thumping kick drum and catchy vocal sample has already received support from the likes of Sub Focus and Dimension. Coming together with Hospital’s very own Urbandawn, ‘Power’ sees the epic collision of two heavyweights as halftime drums and a slapping double bass kick start the jam, followed by the takeover of sweltering synths and sonically searing drums.

‘Destiny’ is a high voltage dancefloor anthem as Netsky joins forces with fellow drum & bass stalwart Sub Focus with Jozzy on the vocals. Big room synths inject energising vibrations on this electrifying cut which truly is a collaboration of legends. A highpoint of Metrik’s ‘LIFE/THRILLS’ LP is the soaring drum & bass roller ‘We Got It’, featuring the compelling vocals of Bristol-born singer/songwriter Rothwell. Metrik’s uplifting score matches up with Rothwell’s raw and heartfelt lyrics, her rich tones harmonizing with his organic rolling drums and sympathetic strings for a soul-styled drum & bass ballad.

To accompany the original Metrik has pulled in two re-works from admired producers. Hospital label mate S.P.Y has given the track a burst of attitude, turning it into an aggressive dancefloor weapon with pitched down vocals and a tough rolling bassline.

For a funk-ridden flip is Bobby Tank, who’s equal love for synth leads and intricate rhythms caught Metrik’s attention a few years back. The glitchy switch up is just what the doctor ordered, fitting in with Metrik’s love for cool 80’s flavours that runs throughout his sophomore album.

Metrik’s ‘LIFE/THRILLS’ whirlwind continues to spin in 2017 after hitting high positions in the official UK Dance and iTunes charts. He’s received regular support from radio heavyweights Annie Mac and Beats1’s Julie Adenuga, four nominations in the 2016 Drum & Bass Arena Awards and won 3rd place in the Best of Beatport’s Drum & Bass awards.

The essence of the song touches upon the global situation which has impacted each and every one of us as Inja’s wordplay transcends into the realms of bass music, turning gloomy government guidelines into something we can all enjoy. The pandemic has hit hard for artists and the music industry as a whole, but if one thing is for certain you can count on Whiney & Inja to supply positive vibes where they’re needed the most. Whenever these two link up it’s a guaranteed banger inbound, and ‘Game Face (Stay Alert)’ is no exception…

Bringing their underground flare to the forefront of drum & bass, disjointed sample cuts oozed with eeriness and the instantly recognisable snippets of Inja’s vocals put things in order for Whiney & Inja to lay down a bass-ridden slammer infused with lyricism more relevant to now than ever. Mangled basslines, tight-knit percussion and Inja’s unrivalled flow are concrete evidence as to why this pair have earnt the respect of the masses.

This isn’t the first time Whiney & Inja have joined forces and it certainly won’t be the last. Successes of their previous drum & bass anthems include ‘Flashlight’ which soon became one of the scene’s most sought after dubs championed by Randall, ‘She Just Wanna Dance’ which conveyed the powerful message of one of the many struggles womxn face when simply trying to enjoy themselves to the music they love, ultimately leading to a spoken word performance from Inja in the Huffington Post, and ‘Be My Cure’ which was originally released on Sick Music 2019 but still dishes out damage to this day. The dynamic duo’s relationship extends past the studio and onto the stage, with the pair also tearing up the likes of leading drum & bass festivals such as Hospitality On The Beach with Inja’s ‘Fully Fuelled Flex’ live sets.

This year Hospital Records announced an unexpected addition to their roster, Brazilian-born Urbandawn.

Previously unknown in the spheres of drum & bass yet has shone through with his melodic and soulful drum & bass that’s polished to perfection. Following his well-received debut single “Neon Nights” is the charming “Cloudless” EP - four tracks encompassing every element of Urbandawn from his sweet-natured, warming tones to high-energy dance-floor impacts.

Title-track “Cloudless’ is the result of an unexpected session in London Elektricity’s south-east London home-studio. Expect an instantly inviting vocal-lead arrangement performed by “Just One Second” singer Elsa Esmeralda who compliments the instrumental qualities with a beautiful, harmonic performance.

Adding another string to his bow is an unorthodox title for an unorthodox track. Screaming for the dance is Urbandawn’s ‘Pavlov’s Dog’ that uses unconventional arrangements and unusual sounds in an effort to make noise against the rising glamorization and formulaic predictability of “EDM culture”. Jazz inspired piano chords lead the way over fierce beats in “Under Your Sheets” followed by a call back to the summer months with “Vona”.

Teaming up with New Zealand based singer/songwriter, and no stranger to Hospital Records, Thomas Oliver brings his infectiously enlivening vibe to ‘Sunflowers’. Pulsing sub basses, crisp breaks and a warm piano pair perfectly with the blissful vocals of Thomas Oliver. Other notable collaborations on the album include Whiney & Ebson on ‘Unreachable’, Etherwood on the well-received single ‘Fall Beneath You’ and rising star Telomic on ‘Listen Close’.

Keeno’s dedication to crafting his own unique sound has not gone unnoticed. Dance music icon Netsky has taken the drum & bass scene by storm since the announcement of his highly anticipated return to Hospital Records for his fourth studio album. ‘Second Nature’ represents Netsky’s everlasting love for his D&B roots that has sent shockwaves throughout the dance community. His journey comes full circle as his brand new record marks the 10 year anniversary since his self-titled Hospital debut, with collaborations on the 18-track long-player from Sub Focus, Becky Hill, Rudimental, Hybrid Minds, and Urbandawn to name a few. ‘Second Nature’ is teed up to be a remarkable and seminal release for drum & bass lovers around the world.

Bringing his classic liquid sound into 2020 alongside New Zealand based prodigy Montell2099 who has worked with the likes of Diplo, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne and Mr. Carmack, future bass meets Netsky’s signature soulful groove on ‘Mixed Emotions’, paying tribute to New Zealand and the love and support he has received there over the past decade of his career as an artist and DJ.

Multi Brit-Award winning drum & bass powerhouse Rudimental and their official vocalist Afronaut Zu jump into the picture for ‘Blend’, which sees groove filled vocals rolled out alongside a slick bassline, vibrant trumpets, Netsky’s feel-good melodies, and Rudimental’s signature uplifting style.

Covering the Deniece Williams classic, ‘Free’ is reminiscent of Netsky’s love for funk & soul, introduced by his father from a young age, that can also be felt in ‘I Choose You’ (a cover of Willie Hutch’s ‘I Choose You) and ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’ (feat. Chantal Kashala & Daddy Waku)’ (covering Roy Ayers’ ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’). ‘Free’ takes you back to the original sounds of Netsky with a trademark liquid bassline and unforgettable brass topline, as sincere vocals and old school breakbeats tie the track together into a nostalgic number infused with the sounds of today.

‘Look At Me Go’ features breakbeat and UK hardcore champion Darren Styles. This four to the floor slammer with its thumping kick drum and catchy vocal sample has already received support from the likes of Sub Focus and Dimension. Coming together with Hospital’s very own Urbandawn, ‘Power’ sees the epic collision of two heavyweights as halftime drums and a slapping double bass kick start the jam, followed by the takeover of sweltering synths and sonically searing drums.

‘Destiny’ is a high voltage dancefloor anthem as Netsky joins forces with fellow drum & bass stalwart Sub Focus with Jozzy on the vocals. Big room synths inject energising vibrations on this electrifying cut which truly is a collaboration of legends. Plus, soulful pianos are paired with the unifying vocals of Becky Hill as she throws back to her second nature, and graces her first drum & bass track for several years on the heartfelt banger ‘Hold On’.
