Epic symphonies, transcendent melodies and emotive sonics all keenly await on the stellar debut release from Med School’s latest signing Polaris, the ‘Uncharted’ EP. After featuring on a variety of Hospital Records compilations, Romanian-born Polaris has unveiled a 4-track EP showcasing his unique use of atmospherics and full-throttle drum & bass style.

‘Kessel Run’, with its nod to his favourite Star Wars saga, is a dose of trailblazing energy. It’s celebratory horn work, energetic frequencies and punchy percussion give a warming vintage feel and make for a truly inspiring lead track on the EP.

As an avid gamer, Polaris brings intergalactic soundscapes across ‘Prismatic Gate’ for a futuristic electronic beat. Complex drum work and ambient pads lay the foundations for the timeless liquid number ‘Receiver’, juxtaposed by ‘Relic’, an intelligent space-age stepper that’s light years ahead of its time.

Delve into the deepest layers of drum & bass with Anile’s impressive debut LP, “Perspective”. Combining a thoughtful synergy of sounds that pulsates sophistication; infusing warehouse echoes with crisp percussion for a refined yet raw, underground authenticity.

Opening with a resonance of childhood reminders in “False Tense” that combines a shimmering synth with all-absorbing waves of bass. Then turning to the sinister twists of “Jack of Clubs”, rotating a chilling hook with stabs of vocal punches, before gliding through the subtle sounds of “Stay With Me” uniting gentle glimmers of piano with soft whispers of baritone vocals.

Throughout, “Perspective” is the perfect balance of vocal talent with quality instrumentation from the “City of Injustice”, which cleverly combines urban callings with DRS’ deep lyrical intellect, to the soaring vocals of Tiffani Juno in the emotive and mesmeric “Not the Way (To Run)”. Also featured on the album are talented artists Inja in “Between the Sides” and Hannah Eve in “Inside”.

With the utmost quality and class, this high calibre collection excites and entices on every listen, building upon Anile’s last Med School release, the well-received “Losing My Mind” EP. “Perspective” surpasses any expectations, setting a promising stance for this proficient producer.

Buy Here: https://LondonElek.lnk.to/MedSchoolScansym

In 2015 London Elektricity surprised us all with his first album in over five years. ‘Are We There Yet?’ more than deserved its influx of praise, now the Med School team has taken on the label boss’ latest masterpiece. The ‘Med School Scans’ LP examines, dissects and transforms each track, injecting every member’s unique persona into the critically acclaimed original.

Etherwood, Keeno and Anile compliment London Elektricity’s originals with class, elevating each into majestic adaptations. Whiney and S.P.Y keep up the funk of ‘Tenderless’ and ‘Why Are We Here?’ while seeping through heavier subs and thicker percussions. Frederic Robinson creates an epic, dreamlike state with his rendition of ‘Seven Days To Live’.

Royalston and Rawtekk don’t hold back, their reconstructions of ‘Tone Poem’ and ‘Telefunken Lizard Filter’ move from jazz and soul to depth and darkness. The LP also features members of The Erised with Hidden Element taking ‘Parallax’ to a whole other level.

Outside of the Med School alumni, we’ve got up and comers GLXY with a sublime half-time trip on ‘Artificial Skin’. Kimyan Law keeps things crisp, finely tuning ‘That Thing You Did’ and Subwave falls deep into a whirlpool of Emer Dineen’s luscious vocals in his portrayal of ‘Phase Us’.

All 15 tracks in this remix LP keep hold of the London Elektricity essence yet spread the sound further across either end of the drum & bass spectrum. With ten years already behind them, Med School continue to push forward as a strong, independent player exploring every corner of drum & bass with their diverse roster of talented artists.

Ten Years Of Med School
Release date: 1st April
Picture disc vinyl + 2xCD // 2xCD // Digital
https://MedSchoolMusic.lnk.to/TenYearsym

‘Ten Years of Med School’ celebrates the plethora of talent to have emerged over the past decade showcasing snapshots of the imprint’s most memorable releases alongside hints of an even brighter future. Originally the understated sister label of Hospital Records, Med School is now a standalone soldier playing a significant role in electronic music, scouring every hidden corner of drum & bass and beyond.

The release showcases 18 brand new and exclusive tracks, including some stunning remixes of the label’s finest moments. Ivy Lab lead Etherwood’s uplifting ‘We’re Nothing Without Love’ down a more ominous path while Kimyan Law strips down Royalston’s drum crazy ‘Jungle Gone Down’. Frederic Robinson injects a cloud-like bounce into Keeno’s ‘Nocturne’ and Bop gives ‘Pray’ by The Erised a stunning 170bpm rework.

The album also features a host of new creations and collaborations. Etherwood and Royalston prove that opposites attract on ‘Eyes On Me’ which brilliantly combines subtle, soulful overtones with a dark, metallic allure. Newest Med School recruit Whiney presents the deep, melancholic magic of ‘Nightfall’ while label veteran Lung returns with the energetic ‘To Infinity & Be Gone’. There are also fresh contributions from the roster’s past, present and future, including works from Anile, Rawtekk, G.H.O.S.T, Blu Mar Ten, Joe Syntax, Electrosoul System, Sunchase and more.

The ten year celebrations don’t end there as Etherwood rediscovers some back catalogue highlights and blends with the album’s new material in a continuous DJ mix of 100% Med School music.

The quality of the label is without question and this release is no different. Med School stays true to its foundations of championing forward-thinking and emerging talent - here’s to the next ten!

Buy "Stranger Tides" Here: https://medschoolmusic.lnk.to/StrangerTidesym

Will Hine AKA Whiney is a prime example of how Med School keep to their key ethos - to bring through and nurture the very best in the next generation of producers. At just 21 years old, he’s already gained a reputation amongst esteemed tastemakers, including label boss London Elektricity and BBC Radio 1’s Friction, for contributing stand-out moments on various compilations. Take 'Komodo' on ‘Hospitality 2016’, 'Nightfall' on ‘Ten Years Of Med School' and 'Guardian' on S.P.Y’s ‘Hospital Mixtape’ to start. Now two years on Whiney steps into the limelight with his own artist defining, solo EP ‘Stranger Tides’.

Opener 'Moondance' paves the way bringing high-energy to the surface. If ‘Teddy’s Gate’, released on the Skrillex founded Nest HQ, tugged your heart strings then roll onto title track ‘Stranger Tides’ with spacey vocal textures and ice-cold synths. Fans of his 2016 high-flyer ‘Komodo’ will fall hard for its brutal brother ‘On The Rocks’. Fearless bass with a sneak of trance-esque intensity matches up with his new techy tornado ‘Onyx’ - dancefloor obliteration is unavoidable with these two.

Whiney’s productions are built on solid foundations, his love for the creative process spreads throughout, fuelling his tracks with an array of cheeky quirks. His DJ sets also bring that surefire element of fun to the dancefloor. He's been packing in huge crowds world over, receiving a warm welcome in Europe at Med School label nights, Liquicity showcases and the massive D+B-centric festival Let It Roll.

https://MedSchoolMusic.lnk.to/NewBlood018ym

Med School’s most innovative release series returns. Responsible for delivering the drum & bass scene early stories of Etherwood, Royalston, Stray and Whiney, ‘New Blood’ is definitive of Med School’s ethos when it comes to discovering and nurturing quality talent. With artists constantly redrawing the boundaries of 170BPM, this ‘018’ edition breaks the mould showcasing the weird and wonderful sounds from the genre’s most promising new talent.

Interdimensional waveman Lakeway has mustered up a jukey-jungle hybrid in the form of ‘Lock Off’. Panpipe synths and some big beat steps combine to make the ultimate banger. Keeping things correct is Bristolian serpent Constrict. Choppy snares and flirty 8-bit synth stabs slither together to create ‘Tight Coil’. Both choice cuts for any DJ looking for that D&B curveball.

This internationally spread line-up also features some of Russia’s best D&B exports. A.Fruit’s ‘Tender Love’ is a delectable fusion of footwork and techno rolled into one and Soela’s ‘I Wish You Would Come’ is an ambient spaced out down tempo number.

A myriad of styles from across the globe are the key ingredients for the ‘New Blood 018’ LP. Med School has once again proven its A&R prowess, signalling to the world there is no better home for fresh talent.

Buy or Stream 'The Misadventures of Lakeway Part 2
Lakeway' here: https://Lakeway.lnk.to/MisadventuresPart2ym

Lakeway’s tale of misadventure continues with the second instalment of his synth-wave and instrumental grime inspired drum & bass. ‘The Misadventures of Lakeway Part 2’ includes three tracks of cross-genre experimentation and meddling bass infusions. This EP is also the final release on Hospital Records’ sister label Med School, following the label’s recent closure. Keep an eye out for the future ‘Misadventures of Lakeway’ on Diffrent Music in 2020.

Heading up the second set of misadventures is ‘Can’t Beg’ - bittersweet vocals from Rubi Elle glide over dark synths and hypnotic arpeggios. The haunting stepper ‘No Regrets’ is coated in icy soundscapes with rattling percussion and jungle influences. ‘Tearful Tripper’ is littered with heavyweight percussion, and is a testament to Lakeway’s reputation as a fearless beatsmith.

Get your copy of "Popular Mechanics" here:(Download/Stream/Vinyl/CD): https://Royalston.lnk.to/PopularMechanicsym

Australian audio architect Royalston has returned to Med School for his third album ‘Popular Mechanics’. Constantly pushing sonic barriers, this LP sees experimental drum & bass and electronica in its most exciting form. A 14-track delectation boasts cutting edge technical prowess balanced with a rich bouquet of musical grace. This combination of Royalston’s engineering expertise and musical pedigree renders an all-encompassing fusion of everything that makes drum & bass great.

‘What We Were Told’ ft ‘Amy Kisnorb’ is your staple drum & bass roller, in overdrive. It’s a twofold bass attack featuring wobbles and growls balanced with Amy’s angelic vocals. This track will be causing carnage in clubs and warehouses across the land with it’s constant evolution and high energy throughout.

Title track ‘Popular Mechanics’ is everything we love about Royalston. A trio of transformation; beginning gently with an uplifting melody which morphs into deeper techier terrain then reaching its climax with a finale of mind warping bass crunches.

Taking things back, Royalston explores a more traditional landscape in the form of ‘Strobes’. With customarily blissful vocals, this track is vintage Med School. Perfectly soulful, flawless and refined, it’s as smooth as butter. A genuinely marvelous specimen of pure splendor and elegance that remains accessible to all musical tribes.

Buy or Stream 'Obsession' here:
https://AFruit.lnk.to/ObsessionEPym

Med School proudly present the fascinating sounds of A.Fruit! Her ‘Obsession’ EP is loaded with a hybrid of dark moody sonics and curious grooves in a 160BPM body, that draws from the realms of jungle, juke, future bass, techno, halftime and beyond. The 5-track EP follows the Russian producer’s previous releases on Med School’s ‘New Blood’ series, Teklife, Hyperboloid, Sequel One Records and Black Marble Collective.

Opening track ‘Please, Arrive’ is a seamless stepper that boasts elements of epic electronica with a classic D+B kick. ‘Bright Spot’ is a futuristic, tight-knit jungle and juke mix, layered with a serene female vocal chop-up - a true treat for foot-workers everywhere.

A.Fruit displays the darker side of her musical finesse with ‘Music Lasts Forever’, a majestic head-nodder loaded with scattered drums that runs parallel with title track, ‘Obsession’. As for the final track? It’s her ‘Secret Trick’ of 160 and 130BPM fusion!

A.Fruit’s obsession for experimental bass music is her self-proclaimed ‘professional disease’ that already spans over a decade, following her degree in professional engineering and childhood love of songwriting. Outside of producing 160 beats, she creates sounds and music for a variety of PC games, worked in TV as a sound tech and provides digital mastering in her own home studio. Her eclectic DJ sets draw from her love of Exit Records, Astrophonica, Hyperdub, Planet Mu, Cosmic Bridge and many more. Soaring straight out of South London, armed with a surfeit of sentences and stacks of syntactical surprises, 24 year old *Joe Syntax* emerges from the ranks of New Blood talent to deliver his superb debut solo single on Med School. As his name suggests, structure and arrangement are central to the Syntax sound.

Starting the sentence is half-tempo stomper *'Signal Drop'*, which swaggers along at 87bpm with a subtle intro, building chord progressions, snappy, clapping beats and bleepy arpeggiated embellishments. Tumbling down into the drop seamlessly, the cavernous subs kick in, with a deep, bubbling bassline and quirky call-and-response riff adding a large dose of fun factor. This is drum-step with intense sub bass pressure and innovative musicality.
