Frederic Robinson's second full length studio album 'Flea Waltz' is a complex and fascinating body of work that once again offers a breath of fresh air in a world numbed by predictability. From the fantastical pop opera of Constellations to Acrylic's delicate euphoria, the album plunges us into a thrilling whirlpool of unexpected sonics, arrangements and themes, effortlessly picking up the vocabularies of jazz, world music, modern classical drum & bass, and colliding them together to produce symphonies of influence that are both familiar and yet totally unheard.
The journey is made complete by Lily Juniper, whose charming vocals gracefully pull Frederic's labyrinthine ideas into focus, unifying emotions like an astronomer making sense of the night sky.
Frederic Robinson's debut album 'Mixed Signals' exploded beyond the usual boundaries of the dnb scene, receiving universal praise from fans and artists in almost every other electronic music genre, from BBC6 music's Tom Middleton to Hospital Records' London Elektricity. In 2013 Frederic Robinson turned drum and bass on its head with the incredibly inventive and adventurous album, 'Mixed Signals', released on Blu Mar Ten Music.
In the three years following 'Mixed Signals', Frederic has been developing his spectacular live show, experimenting with new instruments and technologies, and, naturally, working on his stunning follow up LP, Flea Waltz.

Sunchase - All Of Us (feat. Scoda Galina)
Med School are delighted to welcome Sunchase aboard with a debut 6-track EP that fuses melodic electronica and drum & bass with thoughtful percussive patterns, compelling vocals and infectious bass lines.
Downtempo title track “The Truth” opens with beautiful simplicity and a gorgeous vocal softly and unfolds into an atmospheric wave of synth-laden calm. Sunchase combines forces with Electrosoul System to create “Thing”, a warped and futuristic drum & bass excursion proving less is definitely more. “Kolo” enrols the unrivalled talents of Blu Mar Ten, culminating effortlessly into a blend of distilled musicality intertwined with complex and crisp drum patterns.
The infectious and funk-ridden bassline of “Think Of” keeps your ears guessing and feet moving, while “All Of Us” takes the listener on a thoughtful and meandering journey accompanied by Scoda Galina’s ethereal vocal talents. Last but by no means least is “Slowly”, charged with warming sub, inquisitive melodies and echoes of early Synkro releases on Med School circa 2010.
Sunchase first entered the wider drum & bass consciousness back in 2004 with the anthem “Remember Me”. He has subsequently released with many respected labels including the seminal Moving Shadow, Noisia’s Invisible imprint and has appeared on Hospital Records’ “Hospitality 2010” and “Sick Music 3” compilations. His debut album “Static Nitro” picked up Mixmag’s album of the month and received widespread critical acclaim back in 2010, more recently he featured on Lung’s debut album “Wait Less Suspense” on Med School. “The Truth” EP builds on these solid foundations, it’s refreshing and honest, exhibiting Sunchase’s versatility and unrestricted creative liberation.

Med School wraps up its 2009 release schedule in the same way it began back in February with a storming single from Finland's finest. Rapidly ascending through the ranks, Trisector returns with a follow up to the lush, amen-fuelled "Morning Rain" which found favour with the likes of High Contrast, Muffler, Nerm (BBC), London Elektricity (BBC Essential Mix 2008), Blu Mar Ten and Fanu, not to mention glowing reviews in the music press.
"Lifeforms" effortlessly rolls back the years to the uncompromising dancefloor sounds of the late-90s, think classic Ed Rush + Optical with 2009 sensibilities. An intro flooded with industrialised atmospherics is superseded by chunky drums punching through rasping synth work and basslines. Switching it up on the second drop, the track is engineered to even greater gut-wrenching levels to keep the crowd jumping.
These tracks have received DJ support from Survival, S.P.Y, Kasra, Loxy, Mutated Forms, Blu Mar Ten, Chris.SU and London Elektricity among others. The release features exclusive artwork courtesy of the awesome Lonekink!
The Erised's debut album, 'Room 414' is out now: https://TheErised.lnk.to/Room414ym
12" + CD // CD // Digital
A five-piece band isn’t something you’d expect to be linked to drum and bass label Med School but The Erised’s elegant approach adds yet another string to Med School’s forward-thinking bow.
A unique collective from Ukraine, The Erised includes drum & bass producers Detail and Hidden Element, dancer turned singer/songwriter Sonya together with a collective of jazz, rock and pop musicians.
The band’s impressive 2015 debut release, the “Desire” EP, included the supremely popular “Pray” and “It’s Over“, immediately capturing the attention of music fans across Europe and beyond.
Fast forward one year and The Erised are set to unveil their debut album, 'Room 414', a mature, impassioned creation that explores the band's vast emotional landscape. Sonya's voice is more absorbing than ever before, delicately crafting tales of sorrow and heartbreak before seducing the listener with her trademark, mesmerising choruses.
The Erised's moody instrumental textures capture a fine balance between tragic and euphoric, fire and water, spring and autumn. No track is the same, as every minute passes, a different part of the story is told.
'Room 414' is a landmark moment for both the band and the label, as all involved take a step into the unknown with this truly magnificent album.

October 2011 sees the return of Unquote, Med School's celestial navigator from Saint Petersburg. Aiming to create music which is like "hearing the sound of your soul" Unquote sails the 130-170bpm spectrum and beyond. It's no wonder he has received support from the likes of Annie Mac, BCee, Blu Mar Ten, Doc Scott, Loxy, D Bridge, Instra:mental, Tom Novy, Joe Syntax and more. Carving out sonic cathedrals from ambient and melodic elements, deep basslines and lush, emotive instrumentals, we last saw Unquote late in 2010, with his poetically entitled masterpiece "Hide Your Tears Because We Are In Heaven". Now he returns with this 15-track opus which is stunning, heartfelt and hauntingly beautiful.

170BPM grime space-traveller Lakeway has landed back down on earth, riding an intergalactic wave that’s headed straight for our frontal cortex. It’s with unbelievable excitement that Med School proudly welcomes this futuristic waveman as the newest artist to sign exclusively to the label with his brand new ‘Frozen Nerves’ EP.
Straight off the bat, and as hard as you like is ‘My Ting’ (ft. Marger). A thugged out grime beat doused in a pool of amens, real talk and militant snare sprays. Title track ‘Frozen Nerves’ is a juke beat on steroids, jacked up to 170 BPM with semi-automatic snare shots and a bassline wobble Mr Oizo would be proud of.
’Death Becometh’ proves the young artist’s versatility with ambient jazz influences tailored to Lakeway’s grime form. ‘Synapses’ is another hybrid offspring with epic horns, incredible instrumentation and a tribal/jungle
fusion. The final slice of ‘Frozen Nerves’ gold is ‘You're The Broken Winter’ that’s almost beyond words with it’s raw hip-hop and otherworldly synth work. Take a bow Lakeway.
At just 22 years old Lakeway has already played live at the world famous Fabric nightclub and been welcomed onto national airwaves by Rockwell for a guest mix on BBC Radio 1. His energetic and explosive DJ style has seen him get the nod from A-list DJs such as London Elektricity showing love for his unique performances. Radio support from Rene LaVice and regular nods from DJ Mag and Mixmag shows this trailblazing young buck is doing everything right.

Med School’s most innovative release series returns. Responsible for delivering the drum & bass scene early stories of Etherwood, Royalston, Stray and Whiney, ‘New Blood’ is definitive of Med School’s ethos when it comes to discovering and nurturing quality talent. With artists constantly redrawing the boundaries of 170BPM, this ‘018’ edition breaks the mould showcasing the weird and wonderful sounds from the genre’s most promising new talent.
Interdimensional waveman Lakeway has mustered up a jukey-jungle hybrid in the form of ‘Lock Off’. Panpipe synths and some big beat steps combine to make the ultimate banger. Keeping things correct is Bristolian serpent Constrict. Choppy snares and flirty 8-bit synth stabs slither together to create ‘Tight Coil’. Both choice cuts for any DJ looking for that D&B curveball.
This internationally spread line-up also features some of Russia’s best D&B exports. A.Fruit’s ‘Tender Love’ is a delectable fusion of footwork and techno rolled into one and Soela’s ‘I Wish You Would Come’ is an ambient spaced out down tempo number.
A myriad of styles from across the globe are the key ingredients for the ‘New Blood 018’ LP. Med School has once again proven its A&R prowess, signalling to the world there is no better home for fresh talent.
