On the heels of the release of his second artist album ("Hymn To The Night") and first-ever USA tour, Vintage & Morelli kicks off the EP with "Cozy Life," which was initially teased (in mixed format only) on his and Max Flyant's "Only Silk 05" compilation. This beautiful tune centers on a mellow chord progression that evolves into a sweeping wave of (euphoric) sound. Staccato vocal cuts enhance the euphonious soundscape and coax the listener to bop along to the groove. In the lush main breakdown, a pensive, seaside ambience evokes the image of a coastal walk; the exhilarating drop to follow propels the listener to make a blissful dash along the shoreline.

The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show of the same name, which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as Johan Vilborg, Jayeson Andel, Vintage & Morelli, & Terry Da Libra. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, and other radio platforms, Silk Music Showcase recently reached its 400th episode (http://www.silkmusicshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Music Podcasts in the USA on iTunes.

Carefully selected to represent the sound of our radio show (and, more generally, our label), the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists are seasoned veterans of the SMS compilation series; there are also numerous first-time contributors to this year's compilation, many of whom have asserted themselves as leading talents in trance & progressive in just the past year.

Blood Groove & Kikis make a triumphant return to Silk Digital with "Vesta", the first single from their upcoming artist album "Wonderland". Fresh off their top-charting "Mirage" release on Silk Royal, the exceedingly talented Latvian duo offer another slice of refined progressive with this one. The single has also been remixed by sensational talents Kazusa and Matt Fax.

The Original Mix is a euphoric, peak-stormer, with hints of the classic melodic progressive sound, championed by artists like Jaytech, Dinka, and Mango. A gorgeous chord progression is introduced early, embedded in lush and richly atmospheric pads. Meanwhile, an equally layered rhythm section gives the track a powerful and rocking swing. In the main break, the beats drop out, and we are left with only a radiant and truly ethereal main lead.

Next up, we are excited to welcome back Japanese talent Kazusa, perhaps best known for his collaboration "Move On" with Shingo Nakamura. Although his sound typically hovers around the more chilled side of melodic progressive, this euphoric take centers on a trance-influenced, layered lead. Meanwhile, a hypnotic piano motif dances around the groove.

Finally, progressive house artist-of-the-moment Matt Fax, fresh off of a recent guest mix for Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy", returns to our imprint with a stunning take. The meaty bassline cuts through the groove, while fluttering arps sweeten the mid-range. In the main break, soaring pads offer another gorgeous interpretation of the melodic motifs presented in the original.

Sound Quelle, one of the most prolific and decorated contributors to our label, treats us to "Iridescent," his transcendent debut artist album. An artist whose compositional gifts traverse the electronic dance music spectrum, he is perhaps best known for his trance & progressive works, thanks to consistent radio support from Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond in recent years. Yet, on our label, the Russian phenom has carved his niche exploring deeper sonic terrain, and it is from that wellspring that his new "Iridescent" LP has blossomed.

Consisting of a dozen mesmerizing tunes, the album evinces a strong world music influence, as the various deep and progressive-flavored cuts are imbued with hints of the exotic, including the frequent use of quasi-ethnic motifs. The album also showcases two new collaborations with Canadian singer-songwriter and recent muse Brandon Mignacca, whose achingly beautiful vocal stylings perfectly complement Sound Quelle's poignant instrumental themes. Sound Quelle's penchant for the cinematic can be experienced vis-à-vis the album's opening and concluding cuts, which again demonstrate his remarkable range.

Silk Music is thrilled to present Silk Royal Showcase 04, the fourth installment of the annual series, once again mixed by Jacob Henry and Tom Fall. The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show of the same name, which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as veteran label talents Ad Brown and Zack Roth. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, Pure.FM, Tenzi.FM, Dance Paradise, and other radio platforms, Silk Royal Showcase is quickly approaching its 250th episode (http://www.silkroyalshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Podcasts in the world on iTunes. Carefully selected to represent the sound of Silk Royal Showcase radio, the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists are seasoned veterans of the SRS compilation series; there are also numerous first-time contributors to this year's compilation, many of whom have asserted themselves as leading talents in trance & progressive in just the past year. Silk Royal is truly privileged to receive radio support from the industry elite, including: Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Myon & Shane 54, BT, Chicane, Kyau & Albert, Super8 & Tab, Max Graham, Solarstone, Boom Jinx, Jaytech, and Ruben de Ronde. Swedish phenom Claes Rosen, the "Man of Melodies," made a triumphant return to our imprint several months ago by contributing a euphoric remix of The Midnight's "Tokyo Night Train." We are overjoyed to now present "Diverse," Rosen's first EP on our label in many moons. A four-track offering, the release evokes a variety of urban settings and vibes: from the peak-hour euphoria of the dancefloor to the cozy, late-night familiarity of one's inner-city apartment.
