A relatively new guy on the scene already proving to be quite a talent with a string of releases on labels such as Renegade Hardware, Rise Audio and Noisia's imprint Invisible, it was obvious to us that Signal had to develop something for the lucrative Binary series. Jon Signal delivers too, for a guy of only 16 years of age there's quite a career set ahead of him.

Xtrah Xtrah! You'll be reading all about this one for a long time to come as Yasin Elgohary delivers his very first outing on Critical Music and what a debut it is. Having smashed the living daylights out of little sister label Modulations with 'Set The Levels', his new offerings are nothing short of devastating. Get the vibes in, this one's ready to rip a hole in it!
Summer soundsystem inspired 'Soundclash' is possibly the rudest cut of drum & bass you'll be hearing this year. From the soundboy vox, the heinous thudding b-line and mid-range pops, it's easy to hear how this dubwise piece of musical mastery has been hammering clubs across the globe. Original junglist material for 2012, there is no doubt. Wheel it up!
Straight no filler, this next one is a killer! 'Discordance' sees Xtrah rolling hard once again with frenetic percussion and morphing bass that harks back to some vintage Ram Trilogy for a proper full force effect. Prickly drum edits and the massive 'I know it sounds deep' vocal make this a great way to end one of the most hefty D&B releases of 2012. Much more to come from this new Critical superstar.

Emerging last year as Austria's latest drum & bass talent to take the world by storm, Martin Mefjus as been on a serious roll with his music featuring heavily in the sets of the scenes biggest players. Never ones to rest on their laurels Critical were listening and snapped him up all for themselves as the latest to join the Critical roster alongside Enei, Foreign Concept, Xtrah and Emperor. Now as he readies his debut solo release on the label, Mefjus looks set to take things up a gear.

'Signalz' has been damaging dance floors at Critical events across the land these past few months and now it's time to get up close and personal with this utterly disgusting beast of a tune and see what the fuss is about. The build up is all epic pads and smattering percussion but it's the main event with its colossal bass drone and frenetic drums that's gonna grab you and never let go until the next tune drops in. Watch for the sick edits and switches to keep you on your toes. Truly big, stinking and nasty!
Next up label boss Kasra joins forces with the young Austrian on another absolute belting slice of technoid drum & bass that's been getting Critical's Fabric sessions in all sorts of bother of late. 'Cypher' is pure future with the synth stabs to match and bassline to smash, showing some strong sturdy roots for possibly a few more collaborations from these two. Wait and see...
