I feel it's about time to tell you this, I know most of you here actually appreciate my work as 'Rameses B' and I know how much it means to you.
But I can't shake the feeling of being left behind, regardless of how hard I try, things just don't seem to grow as much as I'd like them to for the amount of time I've been doing this. It hurts, mentally and physically, it takes a lot of the magic away. It's very disheartening and it does wear me out. It's not your fault, this is just how I feel about algorithms and over saturation of media.
I know creative work has it's ups and downs which eventually pays off, I've been there many times before, but in the grand scheme of things this feels different, more of a constant struggle, a rat race, just to stay at the same pace. It's more stressful than fun when it's this hard, especially when a certain level of standard is expected with each release.
So, I've decided to take on a new side project alias 'Borukon' which will focus purely on LoFi chill beats. A way to let loose with no rules and go back to that feeling of creative freedom without perfectionism or over-production. Something truly authentic to have on in the background where the only expectation is music that's easy listening, soft and emotive. It's an exciting prospect and I'm extremely optimistic about it.
Of course, I will still be making music under 'Rameses B' for the more finely tuned stuff.. this new music is more about alleviating distractions.
I just want to create without the stress and enjoy the process again, this time with more experience.
Since this style is relatively easy for me to make and still sounds so good, it's a great way to get my ideas out while they're fresh without eating
too much of my time and it's something to create in between my scheduled RB releases. It could even inspire more music to be made under 'Rameses B' so do not worry about that.
In fact, I hope to give these Borukon tracks for free on my Patreon and also feature on my 24/7 YouTube Radio, so it will be integrated in some way.
I've been contemplating this for a long time so I hope you can empathise with my decision and be excited by it.
The name Borukon is based on my mother's father's side of the family in Borneo who has sadly left this world so I wish to do him an honour by creating down to earth music for people to enjoy.
If you want to follow my new alias then please search Borukon on YouTube/Spotify (link in description) and I hope we can build a new relationship together.
Peace and love, Rameses B.
(Now you know what the 'B' stands for)
