02 LTN - Haven Place
Recently previewed on "Arrival 01: Destination United Kingdom", "In Between" from Indonesian artists LTN and Roni Joni now is featured alone as a single release, including "Haven Place" as the B-side. LTN is coming off a breakthrough year, as his music was featured consistently on numerous international radio shows, including Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" and Myon & Shane 54's "International Departures".
The title track, "In Between", starts off with a firm groove, and subtle background melody layers build up slowly. A bright piano melody is introduced in the first break, joining the soothing pad layers perfectly. As the beat kicks back in, the energy is truly heightened, and the smooth bassline in the background definitely spices up the soundscape. The B-side, "Haven Place", quickly introduces a mesmerizing beat and bassline combination, as well as delicate piano stabs from time to time. Hypnotizing female vocal stems provide additional texture to the song, and in the break, a powerful theme lead emerges, which continues to dominate the track thereafter.
