Hospital Records Retrospective Vol. 1 2000-2003 | Drum & Bass

A retrospective mix celebrating that lively Hospital Records sound from the early years of the label. Years ago, before I got into mixing, I used to make endless amounts of compilation CDs. I came across one such box of CDs in my loft one day and a compilation I'd made from Hospital Records releases circa 2000-2002. This was the era in which I was slowly making a transition from Acid Jazz/Soul into Drum & Bass for the first time, and Hospital Records had just the right amount of funk, soul & beats to keep me interested. This first mix is a celebration of that initiation. I have called it 'That Hospital Sound' because it is not just a Hospital mix; there are a few rogue tracks from other labels thrown in, too, but they are very well suited to the sound I was looking to pay homage to. These are all full-length 12" versions, mixed at 88 bpm. The sound quality isn't great in some parts, where material could use a proper remaster, but I did the best I could. Enjoy! ?
