Behind the track:
A contemplative reinterpretation of a timeless love song, Ed outlines that, 4 AM is a song about the ups and downs of true love. Movies always end with a “happily ever after” but everyone knows life is more complicated than that. All the unfulfilled dreams and unresolved baggage are what keep life interesting and this song is dedicated to the true love that outlasts it all.
Alluding to his forthcoming EP, he continues, I started working on the coming set of songs in the hopes that I’d be able to put myself in someone else’s shoes and change my perspective on the music I write by working with other talented and inspiring artists. I first heard of The Mayries about 2 years ago, and their beautiful voices and harmonies were always so captivating. So when I flew up to Stockholm this summer, we wrote and recorded this little duet and immediately fell in love with it.
With The Mayries adding that,
Ed played us this great refrain that instantly gave us all the same idea for a whole story. We immediately began writing a song that describes the young and naive love in a transitional time in life when you're searching for something with more stability. Though we’re not so naive anymore we’ve certainly all been there once or twice.
A beautiful acoustic folk track for cozy autumn vibes.

Lyrics:
Where do we go from here
To let go of these fears?
They've been holding us down
But there ain't much else to hold on to in this town
Where do we draw the line
Between Heaven and Hell?
Or is it all just games we play to pass the time
While I sit here and wait for you to make up your mind?
Baby, I'm tired of waiting up all night like this
'Cause it's 4am and I ain't slept a wink in days
And I promise I'll be ready to forgive you
When you get back homе
You said there's so much more you'd likе to see
But all the best laid plans don't sparkle like they did
When we were young
That's why I keep that door wide open when you leave
So where do we draw the line
Between your rambling heart and all the breadcrumbs you can't help but leave behind?
Oh, you have my heart and always will
Until the day I die
Baby, I'm tired of waiting up all night like this
'Cause it's 4am and I ain't slept a wink in days
And I promise I'll be ready to forgive you
When you get back home
Baby, I'm tired of waiting up all night like this
'Cause it's 4am and I ain't slept a wink in days
And I promise I'll be ready to forgive you
When you get back home
