The Mancunian based trilogy of Marcus Intalex, ST Files and Calibre brought us music which will forever be regarded as some of the best to ever grace the drum & bass scene. The first we saw of this trio was back in 2002 with the Mighty Mistical Dub EP, which included the infamous title track, "Inside My Head", "Swingtime" & "Spiritual Thing". The Soulution Sampler came in 2003, featuring the second installment of Mistical Dub (Part 2) and a sensational effort alongside Marky & XRS called "Back To Love". 2006 saw them feature Ras T-Weed for the first time on "Just A Little Herb", which was a 12" which had "Memory Jog" on the flip, it was also Soul:r's 20th release. In the following year, 2007, Mist:i:cal dropped the highly anticipated "Eleventh" hour EP, another piece of vertebrae within the spine of drum & bass itself with absolute essentials like "City Life" alongside DRS, "Eject", "Stay Away", "Time To Fly", "The Eleventh Hour", "Groove Me" & "Natasha" to name a few. This mix features everything they produced together with the exception of "Secret Love", "Add Break" and the outro to "Natasha". The last production we saw from these three collectively was in 2008, with the aptly titled "Bitter End", a 12" with "Western" on the flipside. On a similar note, this ends the trilogy of video's covering the sensational Marcus Intalex, who's music will live on for eternity. Thank you Marcus. Rest in peace.
